  1. Wow, I just received the Blue Surf in RG, which really is beautiful. I think you've got me convinced on the Maxi Diver though, looks intriguing...
  2. Straight out of the box with no mods, my noobmariner has withstood the beach, pools, hot tubs and saunas. I actually enjoy pushing the limits with it, just to see how far it will go. I've taken if from cols water to 104 degree water and back. It's a suprisingly well built rep.
  3. How was the GTG??? Sorry I missed it, But I've been moving and haven't checked the my e-mail or been online in 2 weeks. Curious to know what happened, what watches shined etc.
  4. I never really like the SFSO... until now! Looks great with a rubber strap, much better than my PO. Being peak pool and beach season, I'm going to have to order one soon. Thanks for the great pics, again looks awesome.
  5. Just in a fine watch store this afternoon, and I had to lift my chin off of the floor yet again. The Marine aand Maxi Diver UN's are ALL AMAZING. I am pleading with every "collector". PLEASE TRY to get any of these great watches repped. I guarantee they'd sell. I know I'd buy em. Especially if they have the rubber dive strap. To all of you collector's, any chance of reps of these???
  6. I'd be in as well, I have a flexible schedule, so whenever is fine.
  7. I'd be in as well, I have a flexible schedule, so whenever is fine.
  8. We all love tinkering and messing with our watches! And after all these are reps, if you want to make it look nicer go for it. No one will say it's a fake cause you have AR. Just remember to post the pics!
  9. I wore a bathing suit to a Bar Mitzvah cause I like my PO Really I choose depending on style, but with so many stainless steel bands, I end up picking my Seamaster Chrono. I just like it the most.
  10. This is a GOOD problem to have... Once you start saying, "What outfit should I wear to match this watch?" then you have a BAD problem!
  11. I'm probably the only one, but after reading this post U bought this watch!!! $5.90 for a remote C'mon. Free Shipping. I'll let you all know how it works!
  12. I don't think you're being demanding, but there's no guarantee your watch won't stop ticking. That said, I have, and highly recommend the Evo. It's a really nice watch, and the bracelet, fit and finish is top notch. If you want to spend the money then up the ante and pay for a swiss movement. I've dealt with Andrew, and have had mostly good interactions. Good luck. Oakland
  13. I wasn't much of a collector until I got onto this site actually. Funny that it took replica's to get me into watches in general. I started with 3 gens (Omega, Rolex, Movado) and 1 Rep (UPO). Now it's more like 14 Reps and 3 Gens. I'd say I've leaned towards reps over the last two years, but now I have too many and am looking at gens again. I'm saving up for a Ulysee Nardin or Ebel. So to answer the question, I was at 25% rep when started here, and now I'm at roughly 82% Rep.
  14. I'd agree, definately don't try to insure. Mostly because you need either an appraisal, or a receipt of purchase. The receipt in one way is incriminating itself, and an appraisal would be considered fraud, unless you told the appraiser a watch is a rep, in which case i doubt they'd appraise it at all. Either way, you would have to do something illegal or shady to insure your illegal or shady goods. I wouldn't consider it. Honestly, would you insure all of you 200.00 watches. I wouldn't, gens included. That's my 2 cents.
  15. Oh, I've been bouncing around from post to post... Just been reading more than posting, but the Clownmaster is funny as hell.
  16. I have to say, I'm a HUGE fan of the DuPont Registry, i know talk about elitest. I like crazy watches though, and a nice Gulfstream 5.
  17. Yes, the general public has NO IDEA about spotting fakes, but more importantly, 99% aren't trying to. Every rolex, or omega I see, I'm looking at the details. On the contrary, most people look at a watch as a piece of art (the way I used to!!!). I was at Hibachi the other night with a group of 14 friends. Someone noticed my LV277 and asked to see it. Of course I let them, and they passed it around the table. Everyone liked it, because they were all looking at a watch to see if they liked the style, questioning it's authenticity wasn't even considered. And for the most part, unless you are like one of us, you don't care about rehaut, lume, bezel alignment, pearl, subdial spacing, etc. etc. etc. I agree with everyone here, no one spots a fake if they don't suspect you are faking it. By the way, to confirm once more that the general public knows very little of watches, I got this question at dinner the other night. "Aren't Audemars the ones with all the stuff on them, the moon and sun??? Or are those the Ulysee Nardin's?" Of course I went into a lengthy answer, but after bottles of Saki, I doubt anyone remebers. Honestly, I was more impressed that some of my friends knew Ulysee Nardin, or Audemars Piguet. Cheers
  18. nice pick up! Great deal. Good luck with it.
  19. I think I'm getting into the used bezel business. $$$ I bet the bidder will back out when they realize it's not for a watch. That happens all the time.
  20. What's the best rep in the world??? JUST KIDDING - GETTING EVERYONE'S BLOOD PRESSURE UP! I know this has been posted before, but can anyone tell me where to find a god velcro strap for a B&R 46mm ? That's my real question. Any suggestions, I've been searching for a while.
  21. Thanks, I actually did get the 14K and let me tell you that it is INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL. It's a stunning watch, that I'd recommend to anyone. Thanks again.
