    Scotty just posted that he has had communication with MD2020 over the last month, and received his watch back. If I ban MD2020 than Scotty loses the ability to PM him.

    Do you see anyone here accepting and finding humor in MD2020 ripping people off? Have you read a post here that welcomes MD2020 back to find more victims? Have you seen anyone here welcoming him and endorsing his actions? If you have, point them out and I'll deal with them.

    Sure, I can be a nazi and ban people for pissing me off. Who's first? Anyone want to speak up? Your neck is on the line.

    That's not how we operate here. We are not the Gestapo, neither are we a democracy. Everyone here is empowered to stand up and shout and complain when they see bad behavior. We also encourage everyone to mention good behavior when they see it.

    Heavy handed moderation results in members that are afraid to say what's on their mind. Then we're no better than the other boards that ban people for wearing the wrong shirt. That's not who we are here.

    It's a very fine line between allowing someone to remain here, keeping open lines of possible communication (that the scammer is likely to ignore anyway) vs. banning the lying bastard, only to have a dozen people pop up in PM asking why I did it? They're the silent ones that don't complain, and are using PM to resolve their issues, and don't say anything until after the fact.

    Do I listen to the 4 or 5 people that are calling for his head? Or do I try to let YOU GUYS keep the fires burning and warn each other? Is this place to aggrandize the ego of the Moderators, or to let you have a community to share in?

    Exactly how much Gestapo do you really want here? And how much freedom?

    Think hard about what you want this place to look like. We have many years of RWG culture behind us, and that's not to be squandered lightly.

    As a relativity new member, I value this form tremendously. The depth of knowledge here is remarkable. I simply love it here. Please don't misunderstand me. I'm not a person that whines and calls for people's heads. I'm not here to belittle nor aggrandize the mods either (in all honesty I don't even know who the mods are here and like it that way). I look at each member the same.

    I do get the idea of allowing him to stay in hopes of keeping the communication lines open. But isn't the a double edge sword?? To openly allow other members to be potentially ripped off....who's at fault there? To me that's more damming to this community and ones integrity.

    I'm not attacking the mods, it's members (not even MD), nor attempting to change the culture here. Just expressing my opinion that the members here new or old should be offered some level protection and accountability.

    I just for the life of me can't understand how this board allows this guy to still function?? Sure freely sharing information....yeah I get it, sorta? So here it's kind of accepted and entertaining to allow members to freely rip others off, welcome him back the next day to find another victim! This is such a valuable board with great members to allow this type of behavior to be WELCOMED.

  12. Still no aftermarket 702 crown tube options?

    I have found a source in the CONUS for the elusive aftermarket 24-7020 tubes. But before I post a link the seller asked for me to wait until he has better pictures to post on his site. The quality looks there. And I did a mock up with the gen 702, and it threaded like butter. I think we may have a winner here guys.

    I love it when some Hi-jacks this thread. I've never seen close ups to Helenarou's dial. It's impressive. Just wish they would come up with a closer to gen case case specs.

    Also, show some more updated pics of that improved MBW!

  16. Best 93150 rep bracelet - where to find?

    I'm with you in your search as well. So far after MUCH reading I've come up with this. I bought a 93250 from Yuki thinking it was a 93150. There clasp is junk and mine was even defected (even contacted them and sent photos....only an apology was given). Bracelet was well made tho, with my only other complaint is the screws SUCK and will strip on you. I think the general consensus is all rep clasp are horrid with the exception of TC's (93250 as well).

    In my opinion for a 93150, if you can afford gen go there. If not buy this cartel: http://pureti.me/product/rolex-93150-stainless-steel-bracelet-with-580-endlinks/

    and find a gen flip lock. I still have no clue as to how difficult it will be to place it on the bracelet. But this is the route I'm going with my Tudor 9411 build. But my 1680 will be Gen all the way.

    Not sure what the status is, but I think it's probably not going to happen. I certainly wish it would, but there hasn't been and update in months. back last year, higho and I exchanged several PM's and at that point he was shooting for September  (2012) Nothing happened, he had problems with the folk's that were making the cases, and I don't think those problems have been resolved.

     

    It seems like this thread gets resurrected periodically, but nothing new.

    It seems your correct and none of the "Big boys" want to push something like this into full production. However if someone decided to take the risk I think it would be a slam dunk!
