Hey my man, I agree but are there any reps out there that at least "get the job done" and are a close 2nd place so that I can at least wear my watches until I can source a gen? The rep inserts/pearls I have now for both watches are 100% off. I have seen a few of you post pics of your BP/Noobs 116610 subs and the pearl doesn't look all that bad.

Hey Gents, I am having a heck of a time sourcing GEN ceramic inserts for my Submariners - 116610 and 116618 (Blue/gold). Honestly in my opinion the pearl on the subs is what gives the watch away from the get go.... are there any current reps out there that are getting better and if so, where can I source just the inserts themselves? Hey Gents, I am considering buying the 116610 ceramic insert from WSO on the bay... anyone have any experience with these bezels by chance? I purchased a TT oyster bracelet from them many months ago and was pretty satisfied with the quality and customer service. But the bezel/pearl is a BIG tell on reps and I want to know if their inserts are any good? Thanks, Wise

Hey Guys, What is the "code" and/or rules against selling reps on eBay even if they are called out as a replica? Or.... what if the watches are 100% GEN but just built with gen parts (i.e., superfranken). I have two watches that are superfranken that I am taking a big hit on and I am wondering what other options I have such as eBay to sell my watches and try to recoup as much as I can from my builds. Thoughts?

WOW!!!!!!!! This may be the worst one yet.... Look at each picture in detail... its a different watch in every picture. WOW!!! AND..... it has 37 bids with the current bid at $5,600...........ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The other problem I have is that I have only been doing this "rep" game for roughly 7 months and I have literally spent SO much time looking at watches and the "tells" of how our reps look like a rep that I am so anal about my watches now... hence wanting to go GEN. If I see ONE little thing wrong with one of my watches I just want to sale it and buy something else... this forum has ruined me!!! haha

@Mike, no joke, I think about that all of the time. I can buy a TC put in a GEN insert be into the watch roughly $800ish and turn around and sale it for $5,500+ on eBay... 99.9% of people wouldn't even know the difference. Its a shame that someone would do this and is even more of a shame that someone would do this with a watch that LOOKS SO FAKE!

More feedback wanted on the rubber bracelet... ??

I am 50/50 on this topic... my problem is that I cant just buy a rep and leave it... I have to buy a rep and then franken it out.... which at that point I start getting to gen prices by the time I am done. At the end of the day a rep might LOOK as good and a rep might run ALMOST as good but we all know that a gen really does have better quality parts and at the end of the day every rep I have owned has some sort of "offness" that I can see and I am someone that wants perfection. haha.... BUT...... I cant stop buying reps and franken them. I know, I have a problem.

They do have a navy blue color... I liked this lighter blue better as I feel like it makes the dial and insert pop a little more. I am using my TC V3 clasp.

16803... what do you think of the Everest Rubber Bracelet? I have seen a few pictures online with the subs and a rubber bracelet and it grew on me... I love it!

Where are all his buddies from Chicagoland that were sticking up for him....????? They have been quite over the last few weeks in Mikes defense... I really cant beleive this is still happening and to now MORE people. The problem is not gettng better it is getting worse. Another thought.... If there are people STILL sending things to Mike at this point to get repaired... you shouldnt.

Okay... first... I want to thank "mymanmatt"... He really went above and beyond the call of duty on this build. He knew the struggles I had with this watch and really took care of me, THANK YOU MATT!! Now... for those of you that have been following this build, here it is, in all of its glory!!! Rolex 16803 Submariner - gen movement (3035) - gen crown/tube - gen Dial & Champaign DW - gen Handset - gen bezel - gen insert - Phong Case - WSO TT bracelet (Solid 18k Gold Midlinks) The first few pictures are of the 16803 and then I took a couple with the 16613 I just bought.

@Doc, I bought this watch on Sunday on RepGeek to add to my collection. I then went to a Rolex Dealer on Monday (Holiday) and fell in love with a 116613 Sub-c and after doing some quick math in my head realized that I could own that watch if I off loaded all of my frankens. With that said... There will be a few lucky members who will benefit from my decision to go GEN... you're all welcome...

I think that this build is a great idea... BUT... I thought about doing the same thing with the YM I now have for sale. You can buy a GEN for roughly $6,000-$6,500. By the time you source the remaining GEN parts (movt, bezel, hands, etc.) I wouldn't doubt that you will be very close to a GEN price. Which is the situation I am in with the 16803 build. Just a thought... but I hope it all works out because I know it will be an amazing watch. Good Luck!
