The ring lock does come out. It's pressed in with the crystal gasket creating a seal between the ring lock and the mid-case. The hole goes all the way through.

This is the HEV closed and flush.

    This is the HEV venting.

Since I don't expect to have mine in use, I seal it with Jewelers epoxy from the inside.

There is enough of a gap between the ring lock and the mid-case that would allow HE to be released.

Is it possible to recess the valve a little?

  2. Shoot!! That's bad!

    Phong is seriously overrated.

Don't know why everyone says that his cases are 1:1 gen spec?! No they ain't!! Have you seen the thick CGs and lugs on pretty much ALL his cases?!!

I could post at least x5 pics of different phong 5512/5513/1665 cases where the CGs are chunky as f""k and yet everyone is saying that his [censored] is gen spec.

It's practically impossible to get him to rework the cases before shipping as you get the standard "no, nothing wrong with it....it gen spec"

Feels pretty painful to offload $1500 for a supposedly 1:1 case only to find out that you have to pay a modder another $200 to make the CGs look remotely genuine. Arghhhh.

I agree with all u said above but what other choices do we have?

  3. Another amazing build. I am so full of excitement as I write this thread. It is such a beautiful dynamic watch and it turned out better than my expectations.

    Specs:
    Noob v6s case
    Gen Dial - New
    Gen Insert - New
    Gen Hands - New
    Gen Crown and Tube
    Gen Crystal
Highly modified Yuki3135 with bunch of gen parts

And the most important and yet to be seen in any other sub franken, Genuine Rolex 97200 Bracelet. I mean the rep bracelet is good and all but the feel of a gen bracelet is just indescribable.

Thanks to my good friend @misiekped. I couldnt do all these things without you!

    For all the poopers..
Could I have bought a Gen? ...... Yes
Would it have made more sense? ...... Yes
Is it in Gen pricing territory? ...... Yes

Was the chase to source all these parts fun? .... Yes
Was it exciting to build something? .... Yes
Did I learn a lot in the process? .... Yes
Did it turn out good? ..... You tell me! actually lol I dont care
So all in all was it worth it? .... Hell to the [censored] yes!!

  4. +1 on Mike's work. You can't go wrong with him.

If you are planning on finishing that 1680 of yours then he is definitely your choice! He knows that 1570 movement inside out!

    No he sucks...his work sucks...

    Plz don't contact him.

    Leave him alone!!!

He has enough of my builds to finish and I want him to be my exclusive watch smith

  5. Would you share the file with us? Would be a shame to have to recreate it, don't you think?

    You've done an amazing work

    In between time lapse

Unfortunately we weren't given the last file. It was a jpeg so sharing that with you wouldn't be as useful. You can imagine it's a proprietary file and the manufacturer wouldn't like sharing it for obvious reasoning.

That's what we had to work with.

  6. Lovely! A work of art, my compliments! How did you get the genuine movement? It's so nice!

Thank you. My friend sourced it for me.

Though I could have easily bought a gen but I wanted to see if I could build one. Luckily I ended up building something that had all the ✔ things in it.
