  1. Those inserts look great! I may consider some alternatives to spice up the bezel. Gen insert and bracelet arrive next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. In the process of acquiring a RJ 1675 that needs a new insert. The one installed is to my tastes (maybe I am wrong?). I am not new to vintage with a '87 Speedy and a 70s DJ. But I have not known stress like it has been to shop a nice Pepsi insert... Between the goals of "period correct/close" , to "perfect" level of patina, avoiding reps/aftermarket, and budget... I've spent many nights trying to strike that balance. Looking for any tips from the pros when it comes to insert shopping. I bought one already, and will be heading into NYC tomorrow to visit a store to see another. Maybe I am over thinking it? What do you guys think of the one currently installed vs the one I purchased... Still checking another one out tomorrow... current insert newly purchased (yay or no? improvement or no. more importantly gen or no.......) back of
  3. Wow... Gen Crystal... That's spot on now! As if it wasn't before, lol. Bravo
  4. Stop showing us the gen… haha. Dude its the Mona Lisa of GPs! Fantastic work
  5. If you bought it from a TD the movement would have been stated. If you took it to a reputable watch smith he would have been able to confirm that. I am sure the movement will outlast the gold plate on the watch.
  6. You first have to get a written agreement from original seller to start the process. Oh… it must be face to face. Otherwise, it cannot be done…. 1.5 years on the forums and you still don't know how to use the search function? God help us…
  7. I just bought the movement for my diver and it will be installed. I was sold not only with bps accuracy but COSC timing. Cant beat that.
  8. Yeah I've heard the LB mod isn't very reliable. Reminds me of a CHS GMT movement in reps. Just a time bomb. I have Vac building me a V7 diver… and am toying with the idea of just buying the powermatic 80. I have just been compering 8 bps to 6 bps and its close. Sure the 6 bps is a bit more jagged but barely and only really obvious when side by side. On the wrist i would be hard pressed to tell the difference. Then again, my eyes aren't as trained as some of you fine folks I do like that 80 hr PR and reliability. Just hard to think about tearing apart a perfectly good watch for the movement.
  9. Love that tan strap combo! Honestly can't lose with either. Very nice!
  10. Yeah, it was my understanding that the ETA and Rolex 3135 DW rotate in different directions? Care to elaborate a bit more?
  11. That is beautiful. Looks like its in mint condition too. Wear it well!
  12. No where in my post did I even suggest this individual was a scammer. Read more carefully. I made a comment regarding this exact scenario weeks ago and pan continued the comment I made, in a joking manner. In fact the majority of the posts in this thread are complaining about the exact thing I mentioned in my recent post. Buyers that waste time like this guy should be called out. Maybe we can slowly clean up the "paying" tire kickers.
  13. And sure enough this JUST happened to me. My action? Post their username on the sales thread as a time waster. Hopefully a future seller looks up their name and activity to see the past issue. Maybe this is the way we all help each other out. "I'll take the watch, sending payment now" and in reality nothing was ever sent or communication to even say he changed his mind. Frustrating. http://www.rwgforum.net/index.php?/topic/175110-FS%3A-WM9-TT-16613-%28CONUS%29
  14. Highly recommend the tc v6 case and have lug holes drilled. I prefer it to the wm9 or sean for various reasons. I had a two piece tt gen bracelet before the sels. Nothing beats that gen gold sheen.
  15. I've been toying with tt builds for some time. Built two tt gmtcs but nothing could beat the blue sunburst dial appeal. I wore a wm9 16613 for months and that ultimately drove me to build this as the "next step". Worth every headache and countless hours sourcing parts.
  16. Thank you! My favorite watch since joining this hobby.
  17. Nope. I bought all parts for this watch specifically for his build. I did not want to ruin a wm9 16613 for this build. Wm9 is a great watch and deserves to be worn by a new owner.
