Ok, turns out I have been banned.  Why I have no idea.

Gone through my emails, nothing from repgeek admin as to why I've been banned, but got a load of emails informing me my pm inbox is full on there.

I reset my password, logged in with new password, and it was then I found out I've been banned. Privileges have been removed.

    Hi,

I have had a DW 7032 Tudor kit for a while now and I would finally like to have it put together. My Dad had previously done this sort of thing but unfortunately his health now prevents this. Personally, I am useless at this sort of thing - too heavy handed! Is there anyone in the U.K. who could do this? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Firstly, where did you get the kit from cos i’d LOVE one :D

secondly, there’s a UK guy on the mods/repairs section.

I want to be very clear about this @SSTEEL. The RWG crew does not endorse your services as a watchsmith. You are here as a member and if you choose to provide such services to members privately, and if said members choose to send their watches to you, it will be a private arrangement between you and the owner and the crew should not be involved for any aftersales troubleshooting like the case with @Jordanf1

I hope I make myself very clear on this, on what has been explicitly said, and what is tacitly implied. So yes, your skills and willingness are well appreciated here M, but I hope you can take more responsibility for your work when buyers have issues with them after you sent them back.

And if I ever read or hear once more, that just because a watch you repaired has been opened up by another watchsmith, and therefore you cannot be responsible, or that you base your claim that a watch is working based only a pre-shipping QC video, then I will personally shut you down here. That is pure BS and not things a responsible watchsmith or modder should say.

So do what you do, but know that when you collect money for your service, the community expects basic after-sale service. Don't make me go into details here please. I do not wish to escalate this further.

Up to his old tricks again then?

Couldn't put it better emoji106.png Rolex parts still make up a Rolex watch don't they?

That's not strictly correct is it now, it's only a Rolex when it's built in their factory, buying all the bits and bobs separately and cobbling them together on your kitchen table doesn't make it a Rolex, only the real deal comes with their papers, same as the TC comes with his. Taking advantage of TC's good name is just poor form really.
