I assume there are different variations of replica bracelets. Are there any that are considered to be better than the others? Is there a big difference between the rep bracelets and the genuines?

Are 1665 and 1675 bezel inserts interchangeable?

That is what I figured. I know the Breitling Navitimer Montbrillant Olympust isn't a true perpetual calendar, but I've been thinking about purchasing one and was just wondering if there were any cheaper alternatives.

Due to the complication of the movements, I'm guessing that there aren't any working replicas. If anyone is aware of one, please enlighten me.

I'm considering purchasing one of these Montblancs. A couple of months ago I read a review on this watch (can't seem to relocate the review) that compared it very favorably to a Rolex (I think this was in reference to the quality of the case). If I recall correctly, it also said it was one of the few chronographs in which the chronograph could be used under water. I like the watch because it looks dressy and appears to work well with either a stainless bracelet, black croc, or brown croc. I believe it runs around $2,500 new at an AD, but can be picked up considerably cheaper on ebay (new or slightly used) Any opinions?

I'm not sure the seller knows. He has a cite where he sells a lot of high end watches. I'm not enough of an expert to know if any of the other ones are fakes. I wouldn't have known that Navitimer was a fake if I didn't own that particular watch and happen to be wearing it.

Is the bezel difficult to remove? and how is it done?

I don't have to press down either, but some downward pressure tends to get inadvertently applied. If I grasp the bezel and lift slightly as I turn, the bezel turns much easier. Just wondering if there is a way to get that type of movement without lifting (maybe through some sort of lubricant)?

I've seen several chinese automatics with multiple time zones (small round subdials). Are there any swiss versions of these watches? Additionally, the watches I've seen have the additional time zones marked by city (i.e. London, Paris, New York, etc.). I'd like to have a swiss version of one of these watches without the cities designated. Does such a watch exist?

I've noticed that the slide rule on my Navitimer Rep doesn't turn as smoothly as the genuine. Any downward pressure tends to make it difficult to slide (friction). This is not the case with the genuine. Do the genuine and the rep use the same design/mechanism for movement. Is it possible to improve on the rep? Maybe lubrication?

I hadn't worn my genuine 16610 in about a week and it stopped. When I tried to set it, the hands started slipping and could feel and hear the a clicking noise as I turned the crown. I pushed the crown in and pulled it out and tried again. I finally got it set but only after repeating this process a few times. It winds and runs fine. I suppose I need to get it serviced, just wondering if anyone has ever had this experience. I posted this question on Time Zone and was told that it might just be the keyless works being a bit balky. I followed the suggestions and pulled the crown out with a bit more force and tried again. After the hands moved a little, it started slipping again. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure exactly which black leather strap comes with the Navitimer Replica. However, there is a newer (its been out awhile) deployant leather replica strap with croc pattern that is pretty nice. I received the brown version today and I am real impressed with it. I purchsed mine second hand, but I think several dealers carry these straps for around $50 (it comes with the deployant buckle) . Maybe someone familiar with both the Bob straps and the newer replica strap can give us a comparison.

I've been monitoring this guys auctions. So far I haven't seen the dial I need. I've been thinking about contacting him to see if he has access to one. Are his dials real? or copies?

Update - I purchased one of the 1st generation 3-6-9 Navitimers whith SS bracelets and have a 7753 and a replica strap on the way. Anyone have any ideas regarding a genuine dial. Would prefer a black dial with arabic numerals. Thanks, Ben

I'm planning on purchasing a Tudor Lady Sub for my wife. They show up on ebay on a regular basis and I am under the impression that these watches are genuine. Am I correct that these watches have not been repped? I'm assuming it would be too much trouble to rep a watch that only cost around a $700 - $1,000 dollars. If anyone is aware of a rep please let me know. I'd hate to a genuine price and end up with a rep. But if a rep does exist, where can I get one?

I'm generally hesitant to add anything to these discussions since I'm a newcomer and am probably way behind on the knowledge curve. Therefore, take my comments for what they are worth (probably very little). The "Vintage Rolex Sports Models" book show the engraving on the MBW to be accurate for the early Double Red Sea Dwellers starting in 1967. The all white print is dated to years after 1974 and the early ones are marked at the bottom of the dial with "T Swiss T < 24" rather than the "Swiss - T < 25" that is on the MBW. Therefore, based on this reasoning, I'm guessing that our MBW's represent an early DRSD case that went in for service sometime after the mid 70's and received a replacement dial. Therefore, there appear to be quite a few options when selecting parts.

@gioarmani - Nice pics, feel free to share more. I e-mailed the dealer and he responded within 5 minutes telling me to return the watch and he would take care of it. I plan to send the watch tomorrow. I'll update, but it appears that the dealer will take care of it.

I recently purchased a lady rolex masterpiece with an ETA movement. It appears to be losing in the neighborhood of 2 1/2 minutes a day and the crystal is on crooked (crown etching is to the right of the six and cyclops is slightly off - If the crown etching were lined up, I believe the cyclops would be off even more). Are these flaws considered acceptable for a new rep (approximately $200), or should I complain? Thanks

Thanks for the information. Didn't realize the real thing could be bought for approximately $2,000. Not that I necessarily have $2,000 to spend, but it would definitely make more sense to go that route.

I'm wondering if a Cosmonaute dial built for a Lemania movement would fit or could be modified to fit a Navitimer 7753 and if it could, what would be involved? If not, is the Lemania movement still available and any ideas on Cost? The dial is listed at 32mm. Thanks

Does anyone make a thick croc or alligator band? Maybe croc or alligator on top of a soft calf skin.

I missed out on that one. I apparently e-mailed him during one of the times he thought he had it sold. It then went back on the market, but by the time I read the updated thread, it had been sold again. Therefore, I'm back to the 3-6-9 project. Wondering if anyone knows where I might locate a genuine dial and what the going rate is for one of these.
