  1. Just need to photoshop in a crumpled body and it's a horror show!
  2. Excellent comments. That is why I request feedback from every buyer. I wish to maintain a matchless reputation here and feedback on both sides of the trade is so important. I do use caution with no/low rated buyers as well. The # of posts is a key element as well. Many members don't have a lot of feedback, but are post active. On one occasion I did ask a seller for references. We must not forget that option either.
  3. AP Diver over Grant Park, Chicago. Happy Friday, Mates!
  4. Legend, Can you please let know where you sourced that white plastic screwdriver see shown in the photos? I would like to buy one.
  5. This 5711 or the 5726 (if it's real?) are the next into my rotation. I have had and sold the grey and white dial versions of the current generation 5711. My next one will be blue like the model above with the new bridges/engravings. I SO WISH my 5980 had these features. {whimper!} I'd never take it off. Aside, I wonder if the factories will do the Aquanaut with these new features from the 5711's? For the Aquanaut, all they need are the improved engraved markings/bridges and the 'SWISS' below '6' marker on the dial. Honestly, that would be the best ever super-rep of a PP Aquanaut. It could not be improved in a notable way beyond that.
  6. I am grinning ear to ear! Very choice.
  7. Good news, right! I know I have seen the new 5711 hit the market with intime and toro, but they don't have these 5726's. I'm 100% on board with that white dial version as soon as Andrew, Toro or Ryan get stock. When is the question? I also stand behind my statements above regarding that seller. There was too much risk given the communications to follow through. Please do keep this thread alive with the latest updates. I know there are several on this board that are keen to invest in these new decorated models. The upgrade will be an instant hit, I believe.
  8. This one is not trying to be the ultra slim version, correct? I don't think so, and I am only confirming.
  9. I did not see the screws in the QC pics. It's a odd angle that I forgot to ask for in the shoot. Andrew understood the issue when he saw the photos and went ahead and executed the swap while returning the black dial to inventory for repair. Version. It's the current v1 version. I don't believe there are any other versions out with decorated movements/bridges. If there are, please show me where to purchase one. I'd love to do a side-by-side comparison.
  10. Here are a few photos of the white dial version I received back from repair via Andrew @ Trusty. I would not call it a super rep given these are all v1's, but it is quite nice. I did have the black dial version noted above with mangled screw problems and exchanged it for this white one. I did not like the black one in person. The main tells from gen are the silver dot at the top of the hand stack. The gen is black, but this is an easy fix when it goes in for a tune up. A dab of black paint will solve it. Also, the overall thickness is a bit more than the gen. I'd like to see v2 get a smidge slimmer given that the chrono is faux. On the chrono, I'm impressed. The hands, of which there are two on the stack, center perfectly. They also have the center silver dot tell. Again, easy fix when opened. Lastly, the crown. It is bit wide compared to gen. v2 could use a touch of slimming. Movement, the best part is the engraved rotor. Much, much better than that AWFUL sticker found on the Aquanauts powered by the SW200. A sticker is wholly unacceptable to me at over $400. Everything else is on the 5980 unornamented and generic, frankly. Certainly, I was not expecting anything like the gen engine. In v2 I'd like to see a more gen work over with gold written PP engravings/markings like the new gen Nautilus versions that have recently come to market. (Example: http://www.intime.co/patek-philippe/2312-nautilus-jumbo-5711-mk-1-1-white-dial-on-bracelet-asian-pp324cs.html) In another example, the new AP15400 from the J Factory has definitely stepped up the engravings and bridges, thus I think it's doable in this keynote PP 5980 model. (Example: http://www.intime.co/audemars-piguet/2343-royal-oak-41mm-15400-jf-1-1-best-edition-white-dial-on-brown-leather-a3120.html) Overall, I rate this version as a B/B+ with a room to move into the A category with some modifications and improvements in v2. Let's make it happen, right? Should you buy one now or wait for v2? I'd say YES, buy now given the overall quality. A v2 may never happen or will take a some time...maybe a year or more. This model will definitely cover the gap until the next version is on the market.
  11. Patek 5980. Added an additional photo to show details. I received this one yesterday from Andrew after a repair and it looks great.
  12. Since we are talking about this version, let's post the QC's here in this thread for review.
  13. That white one is keen. No blue release this round, huh?
  14. They are nice. I had bought one for a trip I took to Germany two years ago. I worn it now and then and it ultimately became a safe queen. The style did not stay with me and I eventually sold it here quite quickly Given the quality and relative scarcity you should be able to do the same if your tastes change. Enjoy!
  15. Which TD will have the new J12 factory model? I'd like to take a look as I want to try out a new, super rep 15400.
  16. Patek Aquanaut on a vintage Gibson ES 335 in cherry.
  17. I see your point on the bezel screws. It is as if the pots are slightly too large for the screw heads. I did not catch that until now. Also, the caseback screws look off too. I think there should be uniformity in the depth. Again, this could be just a poor early sample. Hard to say.
  18. I just had the same 'mangled screw' problem with a Patek 5980. I sent it back to Andrew for a full replacement as screws were too awful to accept. It will take time, but they do fulfill the repair requests. Go into it with patience. I am over 2 months in wait time and the repaired watch is now in transit. Personally, I would not accept this one based on the photo particularly the upper right screw. My thread with pics is here if you are interested in seeing what I rejected.
