  1. I have an odd question about the IWC cnrono on the GST TI.. Unlike any of my other reps to start the chrono I have to push the pusher very hard--- then all of a sudden it gives a go with a loud "click" and starts. my others all start with a slight push no snap to the button. are they all like this or is it a lemon?
  2. I Just got my new titanium black face IWC GST -- very nice piece. However, the crown seems bad to me. when I pull it all the way out to the time setting position the crown itself becomes wobbly on the post. it actually roscks back and forth loose in all directions. is this normal for this piece??
  3. yes congratulations-- remember my name suggestions! I cannot believe you emailed me back from the delivery room while the little guy was coming! Enjoy him and have some fun. you never liked sleeping anyway!
  4. I have this one and it does not wind sufficiently to keep all my reps going. after a period of time they wind down despite all the different settings. there is a lot of older posts and threads about this listing the recommended wind times required for different watches and these winders are on the border for some which require larger turn times good luck
  5. As in all of life finding your unique ability lies in identifying those things that are easy fot you and difficult for others! Palp sent me detailed instructions that I will share-- not yet sure if I can do this without f-ing up the stem- this is from palp. here is the description of how to install the crown (you can however ask The Zigmeister too for help if you are in US...): open the case with a tool or duct tape (method described on the repair forum somewhere). then you find a small release screw right next besides where the stem goe sinto the movement. loosen this screw a bit, but be careful: do not loosen the screw to release the stem more than 2 turns (1,5 turns usually is enough to pull out the stem) otherwise you have to disassemble the dial and fix the keyless works. just screw a bit and test if the stem comes out etc etc... simply hold the stem with a plier and screw off the old crown with your fingers. then install the new crown on the stem and put it back in the movement and test if teh crown comes close enough to the case... the crown tube should be a tiny bit visible when you look at it (i mean the crown should not be flush with the case). if the crown is too far away, take out the stem again, unsrew the crown and file down the stem a bit, install the crown again and test fit it etc etc. do that until you are satisfied with the distance to the case. better make more steps instead of filing off of the stem to much at one time. then comes the cg: you have to file down the cg lever tip a bit so that you can close it again. simply use a file and file around the tip of the lever. testfit it, file again etc etc until the lever closes and sits tight with the crown when the cg is installed with the screws. thats it. not hard but it takes some time for i used a standard small file for the lever. for teh stem i used a dremel sanding disc, just make sure that you grab the stem right at the threaded area above the portion you want to sand off. use slow speed for the dremel and don´t use much force.
  6. no not reallyI am not. I know The Zigmeister has done the short pin repair and I missed in his post that he would do these again in september. I did not read that he had shut his email and pmail off. He and I have corresponded in the past and I would not have put a personal request here if I saw he was overwhelmed- please don't chatise me for a polite question to him. My crown question is appropriate. I have not posted here much but was more active on the other old RWG board and have been with the community since last year. Sorry if reading this inconvenienced zz who I have supported as a resource over the past months privately and publicly- I did not know he was getting bugged by the buggers
  7. Hi we spoke some time ago on the old board. I just read an old description you did there about a mod to fix the recessed center pin on the 001. looked awesome! can you "assist" with this process? (wink wink) tried to pm you but your box is disabled or full. on an unrealted note, how difficult for a newbie tinkerer do you think it is to instal the palp crown including the filing of the lever and stem? how likely am I to f- up the stem?
  8. thanks-- I remember reg's post but was thinking of teevtee-- your thread refreshed my mind of him. anyone who is new and did not read these last year amaziong threads of the watch rep zone. my frind is laughing as he works in these areas in china often. http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...mp;hl=Guangzhou
  9. Back around January there was an amazing travellog from someone who went to the city where all the res are sold in china. he had photos and a decription of where he went and the endles market of the reps in one town. My friend is in from china and I cxannot remember the thread. it was obviously on the old site. Anyone remember the thread or the name of the member who posted. My mind is blanking out.
  10. cannot for the life of me find the gen version of this globe watch (like joshuas ap10006) -- how close is this?
  11. I have an 001 from andrew from about 6-7 months ago with "light AR" he claims. It does have some blue tint as well so there is some.
  12. I have lots of reps, mullers, vc, JLC, etc. I used to love comlications. I did not undertand the pam till I got my 001. I actually wear it the most now of them all. I have lots of friends with big big bucks. 100% the one they say hey thats a nice watch or thats cool is the PAM and they wear 20K genuine watches so it just the look they love. I also get more comments on the street about it. just the bigness and simplicity and lines. my wife loves it the best too. guess I have to get a few more. I laughed the other day when one of my clients an incredibly wealthy woman whos husband earns 10 or 100 times waht I do walks intot he office wearking a pam on a hot pink leather band.
  13. i have an 001 with the rubber divers deployant band. it had this rubber little strap that holds te free end of the band down on itself--don't know its name. well this little thing broke off and got lost. now the free end of the strap hangs free. where can Ireplace this without getting a whole new band?
  14. I have a muller crazy hours with the plate back held by 4 screws. I need to get the thing open but 2 of the screws stripped trying to get them out. what is recommended to deal with this? Do you drill the head off? Of course the next problem is I'll need to reclose the case once I get them out.. thanks
