  1. Does the Chrono function correctly? Gorgeous piece sir!
  2. Welcome! This place is quickly becoming a second home to me. Make sure to ask plenty of questions before buying! Also, the members sales section is highly recommended for a first time purchase.
  3. Just thought this would be a fun thread to share our learning pains and mistakes. My first really good one was installing a gen jubilee with 555 end links on a new style explorer 1 rep. To make it even better I accidentally used the hole lug case spring bars that were mounted in the end links. Mangled a set of gen 555 end links trying to pull the bars out of the hole less lug case and cut the [censored] out of my hands on the sharp lugs in the process. Never again. Was going to remove a cyclops from a sapphire crystal with an acetone soak one nite and accidentally place an acrylic crystal in the acetone bath instead. Share your stories!!
  4. The recent wind storm stripped all the fleece from our trees. That look pretty sad now. Do you do any hunting? Post on the Alaska Outdoor Forum?
  5. Beautiful but cold, we finally pegged out around -40 yesterday. I'll take the cold over the icy roads any day though.
  6. I knew that crown was too good looking!! You never see crown teeth like that on rep crowns.
  7. Can't go wrong with classic Red Wing Iron Rangers. Although I have to admit the soles are less than practical for Alaskan winter conditions. \
  8. I can save you the time and effort by telling you it's fake. The lure of a great deal at a low price is what scammers count on to bait people in. If you can get a picture of the movement I'd love to see what it has in it. I'm guessing a dg2813.
  9. Clasp screams fake and I don't think the Daydate ever came with a two tone band like this one appears to be from the back side. End links look funny too. I would run away from this one.
  10. That's a good looking crown...
  11. That Tudor is gorgeous! Thanks for all of your hard work Mike!
  12. I actually have this exact watch with a 21j. It's a very good looking watch and my only complaint is the bracelet needed a little work as the clasp came off after the first wear on mine. Has been holding together well after I fixed a loose clasp pin. I'm actually planning on selling it off since I am thinning the herd.
  13. That's a beauty right there! My all time favorite Rolex. Simple yet strong.
  14. Pam 089 GMT. Testing out the animation function on my GS4
  15. Any big crown rep you find is going to be a one off custom build and equals $$$$$$$
  16. These are pretty easy to fix. If you can get a rubber ball or even ball up some tape and use it to twist the case back off you should be able to use a knife or small screwdriver to turn the movement. It should move even with the case clamps tight if you are careful and apply enough pressure. Every rep I ever had came with loose case clamps anyway. It wouldn't hurt to tighten them while it's open. Pretty easy fix and very common.
  17. So yesterday I done goofed twofold. Firsty I accidentally used gen springs for a holes case on an Explorer 114270 and secondly I used 555 end links to mount a jubilee to it. Needless to say getting them off was a nightmare and I ruined a good set of gen end links. Which end links would be used to mount a vintage jubilee to this case? Thanks!
  18. View from the other side of the Alaska range..
  19. You aren't alone friend. It's been freezing rain here all winter. Unseasonably warm and crappy weather. It's finally starting to cool off since yesterday. I think everyone is ready for it after dealing with the freezing rain!
  20. I thought I would be the only Alaskan on here! Greetings from Fairbanks!
  21. Luminor GMT again today. Trying to break in this new Panatime NATO but it's taking it's toll on my wrist.
