  1. By-Tor, I had to do a double-take when I saw your name as a thread poster. It's great to see you back amongst the dusty pages of the forum.
  2. Good morning, I recently took my MBD out of my watch box, and the bottom pusher was simply missing. This is a first for me, and I wasn't sure what my options are for getting it repaired/replaced. I'm enclosing a few pictures in case some of you have any ideas on what I might do to get this fixed. I've only had this watch for about 6 months, pretty bummed that a piece came off :).
  3. Thanks for replying. Here is the version I picked up: http://www.ttw-138.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=35_114&products_id=15610 I'm not sure about the versions you mentioned in your response. I'm also attaching pictures of my watch.
  4. I've been lusting after a 45mm PO with the orange bezel for quite some time, and I recently picked one up from one of our trusted dealers. When it arrived, I was surprised to find the orange color of the bezel was off a great deal from the original, and it was super shiny to the point of almost looking like orange/bronze chrome. I love everything else about the watch, but the bezel color is really bothering me. I've noticed that all the dealers seem to have the same model in stock, and I don't believe that buying another watch in the hopes of getting a more realistic color is an option. So, it seems to me I have 2 options if I want to keep this watch and enjoy wearing it. 1. find a complete bezel and try to replace the one that came on the watch with an aftermarket one, or 2. try and replace just the bezel insert. My watch tinkering skills are very low end, so I'm trying to get a sense of which option makes the most sense, and has the least chance of messing something up. I'm assuming I'll need to pick up some tools regardless of which direction I decide to go. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated here. Cheers! WR
  5. I'm glad that there are still plenty of watch gurus here. I'll take quiet attentiveness over a cacophony of drama any day.
  6. I've been away from the rep scene for a little bit, and coming back to the forum I'm surprised to find it so dead here. Are reps losing their appeal? Did everyone go somewhere else to hang out? It's sad to see this place so quiet. WR
  7. Thanks for the info. I actually did do some google searching but all I found was references to used watches and case size, nothing about strap size unfortunately. I'm pretty good about searching prior to asking, but I guess my google-fu needs help. Thanks again!
  8. Hello all, I am looking at picking up a breitling datora on stainless bracelet from one of the trusted vendors here. I was also hoping to buy a strap around the same time so both new watch and strap would arrive relatively close together. To do this, I need to know the lug/strap size to order, and I was hoping someone out there might be able to provide that information. Thanks in advance! WR
  9. I don't know if this is an ok post for the general area, or if it needs to go into the rolex specific area but here goes. I have a DSSD that i got quite some time ago, and I have noticed since the day I got it, that the bezel turns very easily. Just with minor bumps on any surface, it will rotate around. I was wondering if anyone knows of a process that can be done that may tighten the bezel up a bit. Not a huge complaint by any means, just curious to see if it could be corrected. WR
  10. Pretty watch and strap combo you have there.
  11. Decided to dust off the ol 111 today.
  12. Well i don't have a sub today, either on my wrist nor in my backyard so this will have to do. WR
  13. Any more ice in that case, and it's going to need a defrost setting!
  14. I haven't worn this in a long time, so I dusted it off and put her on.
  15. today is the SOSF on a sharkskin strap.
  16. Thanks for all your compliments, they did a really fine job with this watch. I've heard so many stories about people chasing their grail watch only to finally get it and either be disappointed, or find the hunt was more exciting than actually acquiring the watch. I must say that since I got this one, I couldn't be happier. My one disappointment is that I can't wear it while sleeping and have to take it off. WR
  17. Hearing Swiss Grade literally gave me flashbacks to when I first got into the rep scene. Boggles the mind what kind of crap websites try to lure you in before you know what you're doing. WR
  18. Many years ago my interest in watches took flight when my wife bought me a watch magazine to browse through while we were killing time in an airport. I still remember like it was yesterday looking at the watch on the cover and instantly falling in love (and lust) for that watch. I knew right then and there I would someday own that watch!. I knew very little at the time about luxury watches, and my dreams of owning this watch were quickly dashed upon the rocks of reality when I saw the price tag. Some time later, I began to learn about the rep scene, and I swore that one day I would own a rep of this watch. Well, a package just arrived, and I ripped into the box. Behold, the watch that started it all for me. (sorry about the quality of the pics, took pics with the phone in all my excitement) To all of you out there, do you remember what watch started it all for you? WR
  19. Thanks for this fantastic reply, this gives me some hope. I'm sure this infer is out there and I'll be searching momentary, but is there specific information on the graphite fix as to who performs it and the cost? Thanks again! WR
  20. OK, so I was one of those that couldn't resist buying a daytona knowing that it would most likely be a time bomb. I know that the movement they use is not ideal due to the running seconds at 6, and this will always be an issue until a different movement is used. Here is what I am seeing; I've worn the watch on and off for the last couple of years. Lately the watch will run for a minute, and then it will consistently stop when the second hand reaches the 10 second mark, and won't move unless I shake the watch a bit to get things going again. So my question is this - is this pretty much the expected symptom of a daytona that is on its way to the trash bin, or is this possibly a different issue that could be fixed in some way? I'm not sure what the exact symptoms are of a dead daytona versus an issue that may affect the watch and can possibly be fixed. If it turns out it's yet another dead daytona, are there any other options at this point besides throwing it away? Looking forward to your responses. WR
