  1. Thank you, yes I know that is how supposed to look on USPS site. It's my first time having this issue and was wondering if somebody else had this issue.

I'm having the exact same issue right now.

Foreign Acceptance = 2 weeks ago

Neither of the sites have been updated. (EMS or USPS)

What ended up happening with your parcel?

  2. ehh, you can always buy another asian 7750 mvt.... can't you?

Good point. Why not just get one and count on replacing it with a new asain 7750 whenever it dies? How much are those anyway.... and how difficult is it to do the 1:1 swap? Good questions...

  3. Hey guys,

I've got a new DJ on the way and because I'm always so disappointed with the cheap bands that ship on most reps, I'm already looking to find a replacement. So I have two questions...

    1) Is the jubilee bracelet that is currently shipping with DJ's of any decent quality?

    2) What would be a good replacement (if I don't want to find a gen/used gen)?

-I found a site that looks as if it sells some high quality stuff... but you can't ever be sure... any one know about: http://www.thewatchprince.com/s.nl/it.A/id.784/.f

    -$195 seems a bit steep....

-other places sell "seiko" jubilee bands.

Thanks in advance, I certainly value the advice of all you experts out there.

  4. Of course it wouldn't have anything to do with being caught with their pants at their ankles.........getting their collar felt........and trying to ingratiate themselves with the members again.....and taking a pop at a certain outspoken dealer.....who [censored] in their Rice Krispies..... and just happens to have them and did a review just recently.....so tell you what.....let's lead with that.....decimate the price....and we'll look good again in everyone's eyes.......problem they have is that they can sell cheap.......but i keep raising the bar.......I pressure test them free of charge...every one.....if the customer wants water resistance service....I offer it......I check for regulation......if the customer wants accurate regulation.....I offer it.......and full QC checking.......QC,....Quality Costs......:D

Plus the fact that they are misdescribing them again......they're not 13mm thick....they're 17 mm thick....but perhaps they lose a bit in the drop shipping process.....or maybe they've chiselled 4mm off it...in order to save a bit of shipping costs .....so they can lower the price....!

Well said Neil! HAHA! That is exactly what happened.

  5. OK, so I have looked at the specs, pics, etc between josh's 2 black ceramic J12's. Specifically, CHA10013 and CHA10001.

The only thing I can find that maybe the issue is the date font and I thought at first it was an update, but actually the cheaper one (10013) was actually added at a later date, and is newer.

Anyway, if anyone has a clue as to what the difference is, I would love to know, links follow:

    CHA10013: http://watchwindersworld.com/cha10013-blac...rtz-p-2347.html

    CHA10001: http://watchwindersworld.com/cha10001-blac...rtz-p-1775.html

    Thanks!

    The difference? $150.00 :whistling:

  6. An additional pic for all who have already bought a dupont or planning to do so:

To refill the lighters you can use the original dupont gas bottles or use an gas bottle from the supermarket with this adapter whick makes the refill in the long term much cheaper...

Yes - but how do you know which to buy? Green/Blue/Yellow/Gold? I will buy one but I'm not sure which will fit my rep - since reps don't have the color coded dot.

  7. good idea chris. but this wont work without the support from the admin team. they have not said anything pro or con about this matter. will the admin team be willing to do this?

If they don't implement the restrictions to remedy the problem then that will cause to wonder where their allegiance lies. I mean, why wouldn't they want to protect the user base? The only reason I think of would be that they are "in bed" with the dealers. Perhaps the dealers give a kickback or something to the board admins.

  8. What do you want him to do? Shut down? Will that make you happy? I have bought things that have been misrepresented many times. I just expect the retailer to admit it and make it right. Just pick up a newspaper, and look at all the flyers and ads. A friggin lot of misrepresentation there. Hidden fees, product may not be exactly as illustrated, etc.. I do expect Andrew to admit to the mistake, but mistakes are made. Shameful, but learn from it and strive to maintain business intregrity. You don't think that car dealers misrepresent their pricing and products? They are still around and people still buy from them. Andrew, just admit you made a mistake, appologize, make it right and learn from it.

I may be new here... but you just joined today. In fact, I think it is awfully suspicious that you joined today and your only two posts are in defense of the dealers on this thread - methinks you may be a dealer in a users clothing.

  9. Don't forget rape, genocide, and spitting on the sidewalk in Beijing. First a cheap watch movement, next thing you know truck bombs and beheadings. If only Saddam didn't wear badly faked Gucci sunglasses!

Can we not use extreme linkages in this thread? A bad watch run is not the same as the other things mentioned.

    /Tim

The severity of the crimes may not be equal but the analogy is still accurate. I said that using his rationale, no one should ever be punished for anything because people make mistakes.

  10. I think Andrew knows a mistake was made and is too concered about his business integrity to admit it. Businesses make mistakes, businesses mislead. It's a fact of the economy and retail. I deal with it everyday. I would just admit to the error, learn from it, and let it be a new day to prove your business integrity. People are willing to pay as long as they get what they are suppose to get.

Well isn't that great? A mistake was made... it hasn't been fixed or addressed and yet you want to move on to a new day. Using your rationale we should let murderers and child molesters free because they make mistakes. The time to prove integrity has passed and the evidence weighs against the "cartel."

  11. Sorry to say it....but you have no clue.......most of you sit in your ivory towers...isolated from the reality of the situation....swanning all over the net collecting information dross......whilst I and other dealers....take the actual 'risk'......I can walk into a Post Office tomorrow.....and find my packages taken out of the postal system for inspection....if I refuse....they get opened anyway.....in my presence and in handcuffs......if they find counterfeit items....which is against the law in Thailand.....( it's only NOT against the law if you don't get caught )........I get transported swiftly to Bang Kwang......appear before the beak in the forenoon....and get found guilty.....pay a massive fine.....do not pass GO....and defo do not collect $200.......I then sit in the sweaty Bangkok Grey Bar hotel....for a few weeks.whilst they decide whether to deport me or confine me......deportation is the better of the two obviously.......but it means no more trips to the LOS for me...red carded and never allowed back in...which means I lose my property.....50" wide screen DLP....and everything I'm surrounded by.....including the lovely Pom......!

So don't tell me that dealers have no risk...most of you wouldn't know a clue if it walked up ...bit you on the leg....and said..."I'm a fargin' clue"....!

I deserve my profit.....I work hard for it and take the risks that members won't...........Sawadi krap....

    :D

TTK - You're absolutely right. I wasn't talking about you - I was talking about the chinese dropshippers. You do take a risk - but those who manufacture them severely overstate theirs.

  12. Been there done that!

    CLICK

Yes - but the majority of responders in your thread seemed to conclude that the dealers should make such profits because they have lots of "RISK". This couldn't be farther from the truth.

The very existence of such a plentiful counterfeit market in China is evidence that the Chinese government doesn't enforce the trademark/copyright laws.

    Check this out: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/01/26/...ain595875.shtml

They are even counterfeiting golf clubs and Mercedes Benz!

    From the article:

  13. More power to them. I agree with several comments here that with the risks they take, the fact that to provide service to us they have to take the hit against losses in the mail, customs seizures and replacements for poor quality - that measured against the great reps we get - I am happy they are making money.

    Usil

    What risks?

    HAH!

  14. I can understand starting this thread...but do you have to post the same thing on several threads???

No - I apologize, I tried to delete this one but I don't think I have the ability because I haven't paid via paypal (the subscription price).

I posted in the other threads because it was directly relevant to the RWI discussion started (just as here) by Edge.

  15. I lifted this quote from RWI but it bears repeating here. The information about the value of money in China is especially illuminating.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have to say that as a relative newcomer to the Darkside, reading this thread has made me very unsure that I want to continue purchasing from any of the cartel members. Now, I have already known that the dropshippers are cause for some concern (because they don't even see the product they are selling), and for that reason I have gone with people like Ruby who will send me exact photos of the watch that will be shipped.

There are good dealers out there... but I think the overwhelming weight of the evidence suggests that it is not a good idea to continue supporting the "Big 4". Start voting with your dollars and use the other dealers.

I've heard others saying that they tolerate deliberate misrepresentations regarding the quality of goods because "this is an illegal business." So they continue to purchase to satisfy their habit and to appease the dealers. This is so irrational that I wonder if these people aren't just "shills" for the dealers - what if the people making these sorts of comments are in fact the dealers themselves? I wouldn't put it past dealers to have multiple user names. With multiple accounts, a dealer could make some comments on a thread like this without fear of having their comments disregarded as being self-serving. They may be the source of dissension in the ranks.

At any rate, the real problem with the "I'll accept lying because this is illegal" argument is that there must be honor among thieves. Dealers depend (as all businesses do) on repeat business and word of mouth. If you make it known that you will stop referring people to them and that you will stop purchasing from them - they will have to react. Remember that these things come from China - $200 is a lot of money in China. In fact, $200 is $58 more THAN AN ENTIRE MONTH'S WAGES for the average CHINESE UNIVERSITY GRADUATE! Worse, the people involved with manufacturing these watches are not even university graduates! You are getting ripped off!

  17. I posted this in another topic but I think this is better placed here - it was taken from the RWI topic on the same discussion. What the guys says about the price is the most impressing thing.
