That is false. I have friends who are teachers who spent lots of money on education, getting their MBAs, etc. who went back to teaching for a paltry salary. They could have high-paying jobs but choose to go into teaching.

This is the same path I'm taking. I had a $300,000 job more than a year ago, as part of an accounting firm, but I decided to give it all up for a PhD, and hoping to go into teaching, for the rewarding experience. Money means nothing to me anymore, as I think I can retire comfortably for the rest of my life with my wealth.

Hope RBJ doesnt mind me answering this. But i've done the same project. Look in the Omega section as I build a Omega speedmaster automatic from scratch. Honestly, unless parts suddenly become available for cheap - (like for me), forget it. 2nd hand ones only cost a mere 800USD.

even if you have a gen dial, u need case, crown, pushers, hands, movement spacer.... think about this, if you were to buy parts for a mercedes benz and build it urself....you think u'll be saving money? NO WAY...spending way more then retail...

ive been thinking of building an omega speedmaster from scratch, just buying parts and putting it together myself as a little project. ive looked on ofrei.com, and theyve got many parts, including the omega movement cal 1140 for the speedy. however, its 420, and i cant really afford that right now. do you guys know any eta movements that will fit the speedy? not the hand wind one, but the automatic one with larger subdial spacing... im going to buy the gen dial so i need a movement that will fit it

i think that aus soccer wont progress very far, as it just has too many obstacles in domestic sport. league, union, afl, cricket are all on top. i just couldnt see any quality in the aus side, they had so much possession, yet they could not create a clear cut chance. sterjovski and culina on the right really disappointed me, they never ran at the defenders, they would run down the line, turn back, then pass back. viduka, for me, is just 2nd rate. granted, is he brilliant in holding the ball up, but that should be expected of a guy that size. cahill played too far forward, and kewell was sorely missed. aus needed that spark and creativity.

as for the penalty, it was the ref's right to call it as a penalty. neill commited himself far too early, which is fatal. why couldnt he just sit back and track grosso?? he was lucky that the tackle didnt take him down, and nearly every single player in that situation, 10 men, 3 subs used, 93rd min would milk the situation presented to him. so can't fault him

but the socceroos have shown the heart and commitment that is synonymous with aus sport! just hope some new young players are able to come through the ranks

is there distortion where you look at the watch from an angle... say at about 160 degrees?

because i find that the cheaper reps with synthetic crystals are domed, and the vision of the dial is compromised when looking at the watch from an angle

btw rocket754, who did you get your gst from?

are there any iwc gst reps with totally flat crystals?

seems to me that most are with domed ones, with a bit of distortion
