ill add a serious reply to the one other here! im a university student in sydney, studying advertising and marketing now in tokyo, studying for a year having the fukn time of my life!! btw watches are quite expensive here, even the seikos! but a huge range to choose from...

i think maybe you should think about getting her a gen? for something like a HS grad gift, something that will last long will be well appreciated and remembered and really... a diamond rolex/patek phillipe looks quite unconvincing on an 18 yr old

thanks for your reply i can see that 2nd hand ones are quite cheap, and thats been my dilemma... i was thinking of combining genuine and replica parts to make one its also to just have a lil hobby.. and itd be great if i could finish it mind me asking where you got the parts from?
