  1. Dear fellow members, I came across the link below and was wondering if that YM was the same as the one TC offers but without the mods? http://www.intime.co/rollie/1097-rolex-yacht-master-168622-grey-dial-a2836.html I ask this as most of the Rolex's come with the 2836 as standard. Has anyone had any experience with this model? Would the experts please chime in. Thanks in advance
  2. Funnily enough, I messaged him yesterday received the following message: 'This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server. info@jewelryandwatch.com'
  3. Done it a few times actually. Currently trying to sell my gen Rolex 16233 to fund a few reps
  4. Does anyone know where I can source a set of hands for a gen AP ROO 2226 movement. Thanks in advance!
  5. Where did you source hands? Been looking for ages.
  6. Anyone know where I can purchase a set of gen or aftermarket hands for a genuine 2226 AP movement?
  7. The movement in this watch is an asian 2688 not 2671. I bought this watch from Toro last week thinking it had a 2671, but when my watchmaker opened it he could tell straight away that it wasn't a 2671. The movement holder was too large and date wheel did not line up with window on dial when I tried to install a gen calibre 077. I am now forced to buy the $500 version from puretime with a 2671 to complete my franken project. It states on Toro's site that this has a 2688, but for some reason it was stuck in my head that it was a 2671 after reading this review.
  8. Lovely build! Could you or anyone out here please help me source a set of gen AP ROO hands? Thanks
  9. Hi Guys. I spotted this Rolex whist browsing ebay and I had to laugh. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/oyster-perpetual-datejust-/161324007186?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item258fa8ff12
  10. Definitely not a scam site as I have dealt with them twice last year. First purchase I made was 3 Rolex bracelets, 2 men and 1 ladies. I received the goods but the engraving on the mens clasps were incorrect. Instead of 'Steelinox' they were marked 'Steelbox' or something along those lines. I contacted the owner of the site (Len) and he asked me to return so he could swap. Unfortunately he couldn't swap for any of the gents bracelets as they all had the same error so I ended up exchanging for a few box sets with papers. He was also nice enough to send me the box sets before he received the returned items. I made another purchase a few months later this time for 6 bracelets but before making payment I asked him to confirm they had the correct engraving this time. I received my order as described no more than a week later. When it comes to purchasing a complete watch, I think I will stick to the trusted dealers because most of the watches on his site seem to be of poor quality based on the images I've seen.
  11. Spotted a gen Ap Royal oak quartz movement and dial a few months ago with one bid and two days left. I made a bid of £50 out of instinct but never thought I would win it and I thought maybe the bids were going to go into the hundreds. A few days later when the auction was over i noticed it had gone for only £89. I was absolutely gutted . I also bought a rep Rolex dial and eta movement which I believed to be genuine at first. It was my own fault for not reading the listing properly and I assumed it was gen as the seller had great feedback and they sold antiques. I tried to message the seller back a few weeks later and they ignored me. £365 down the drain.# The majority of my ebay purchases have been pleasant with a few good buys like my gen AP ROO 2226 movement, Cartier Calibre 049 and a few Rolex cases for franken projects
  12. Received the clasp today and I must say the pictures didn't do it much justice. When comparing to the rep clasp I could tell the difference straight away
  13. At the moment I don't think I have much choice other than to purchase a 2892 version. Thanks for the replies anyhow.
  14. I agree with most of the points you made above but I still don't accept the link you sent me is an ultimate version. It's definitely not an ultimate in the pics. I think pure-time is the only dealer that has that model listed as an ultimate. I attached a few pics below to compare. Unfortunately I cannot sell the watch as I sold the bezel and some parts of the clasp to help out a good friend. Ultimate version: Ultimate in question:
  15. tomhorn, I knew that the stem heights were different but still wasn't sure 100% sure in regards to fit. In relation to hands I read that it should fit but again not 100% sure. I didn't think the watch in the puretime link is an ultimate edition because of the crown and the other dealers do not have that version advertised as an ultimate. Anyhow it would be fine for me as I would swap everything from my ultimate onto that one. I was already considering one but I would probably save a few quid if I managed to fit the gen movement in existing case. I was also considering purchasing one from Andrew or Josh as they are around $30 cheaper. Another issue with that watch in the link is that it states it is 41.5mm and the one I have is advertised as 38mm. I think I have read somewhere on one of the forums that they are the same size but I would have to contact the dealer just to confirm this.
  16. Hello Fellow Members, I have purchased a genuine Cartier caliber 049 (ETA 2892) for a Franken project. The case I currently have is the ultimate with an ETA 2824-2 movement. Does anyone know if I can fit the 2892 into the case without any mods to the case? Very much appreciated.
  17. asanibal, I am not too sure what screws you are talking about, but I noticed the two main screws look quite rounded. Are they not supposed to be more flat?
  18. zero_deficit, we are obviously on the same page, I usually browse the non TD for similar reasons. I never thought to email them to see if they can source me anything other than what is on their site. I will give it a go in the future. Many Thanks
  19. Hello Fellow Members, I have just purchased a Santos 100 clasp to add to the list of gen parts for my franken project. Initially looking at the rep clasp a few months ago, I thought that it looked laser etched and the engraving wasn't that deep. After looking at the rep clasp today the engraving seemed deeper than I initially thought. I cannot see the difference between the rep and gen (pics). I have owned a genuine Santos a few years but didn't closely inspect the watch as I bought it from a well trusted local jeweller and I wasn't the 'watch enthusiast' I am today. Does anyone know the main give away signs or can anyone tell if the one I purchased is indeed genuine? I have searched a few post but there was no definite answer, also the threads were a few years old and maybe the watches have been improved since then. The seller has a good reputation on ebay with over 3000 positive feedback, so I am pretty sure the clasp is gen but you can never be too sure based on some other posts I have read. But given the price I paid for the gen clasp I may return it if there is not that much of a difference. I have provided some pics of the gen below. Thanks in advance for any replies.
  20. xpletive, I totally understand where you are coming from. I specifically wanted that model I saw on the non TD site as it would have made a good franken due to the accurate markings. But I have decided to play it safe as I cannot afford to take that risk at the moment. Also I could probably find a gen Galbee for around $1000 anyhow, so I have put that potential project on hold at this stage.
  21. Thanks Cromag, if you don't mind please send me a pm with the details.
