  1. I'm not so sure about the being-able-to-tell-from-a-mile part. At least mine's been handled by watch professionals who didn't have a clue.

I actually think the ROO@12 is more accurate than the HBB, which has a lot of tells (just flip it over, for instance!). Pretty much the only AP flaw would be the date (position of the window, size of the mag, and color of the wheel), but it's still very good, and you'd have to know the original very well to suspect something fishy.

    My two cents :)

    Cheers!

  2. Talking about good VC dials - I have the older version of the Overseas, and it's just eerily close to the gen. One of the first true super reps - just check out the details of the back engraving!

    Here it is:

    The gen counterpart:

    The back:

The bracelet, clasp and everything else is also spot-on. Too bad it doesn't get any wrist time.

Might actually be willing to part with it if anyone is interested - just drop me a pm!

    Cheers!

  3. Jeah, hopefully in the future there will be some decent Breguet rep available

How about the XX? It looks very close to the original, especially the non-date one...

My only concern is the rotatable bezel - these are often loose and sloppy on reps, which is a huge tell, and takes down the whole feel of the watch a lot.

    Anyone tried this piece out?

    Cheers!

  4. Hey, somebody let me know if my math is off:

    10cm x 10cmx 10 microns=.1 cubic cm

    .1 cm3 x 21.5 (specific grav. of Pt; jewelers platinum is lighter but as a plating I assume it's pure?)=2.15 grams= 0.0758390182 ounces

Platinum is crazy high right now at almost $2K per ounce, so $2K x 0.00758390182 = $151.68 for 10 microns of Platinum with the area of a large Post-It (10cm x 10cm).

Also, the average human hair is 10 times thicker at 100 microns.

So now I'm really curious how thick the plating is. BTW, you can get stuff platinum plated at this place in Michigan.

Wow! You seem to know your stuff :)

Though I have a hard time seeing the rep makers shell out 150 bucks per watch just for coating?

    Cheers,

    Pedro

  5. I do have the version 1 polished bezel, this thing is perfect, its like a mirror and very nice looking.

No detectable hairlines, even under strong lightning?

Seems then that the v2 ceramic bezel is actually not ceramic, but rather polished ... hm?

  6. Woohoo! It worked - the movement was pretty "stuck", but I managed to move it a tiiiny bit. It never really seemed "moveable" though (it was fixed in its position even after having loosened the two plates), so pushed it and at the same time fastened the plates. I just found two plates/screws, perhaps I missed something?

Anyway, attaching a pic, if anyone else wants to see where the plates are located:

A really nice bonus that came with this fix was that I also aligned the T on HUBLOT and the last E on GENEVE (had to give it a go since the case was open!). I just pushed the letters carefully with a screwdriver, added some preassure on them, and voila, now they're fine B)

Thanks once again for all your help!

    Cheers!

  7. Wow, thank you all very much for your advice! Really appreciated!

Daytona, I've also thought of just one point of the dial being mis-printed, but it seems the whole dial actually is a bit off-centered.

I'll keep you updated on my progess :)

    Cheers!
