  1. Rolex-Movement.jpg

Apparently this is one of those "no one knows" realms in this hobby. (at least from what I've read so far)

    Asian2813? Asian ETA? Swiss ETA?

Some say that there's no more Swiss ETA in China, or when you order Swiss ETA it's not actually Swiss ETA.

Which comes down to "Get 2813, works great"

Some people also said 2813 is garbage and Swiss ETA is way to go,

even if it isn't what it is they use all the best parts for this model and more faulty parts for cheaper watches, so it's worth buying this model.

Some say that Asian ETA is a good choice given that it is smooth enough yet cheaper than Swiss ETA.

I'm more curious as to which one works the best / will last longest.

It'd be amazing if someone goes "look, here's the truth...", but I don't hope for that much, just want someone to convince me on 1 movement.

    Share your thoughts, Thanks.

  2. so from time to time I see a posting about small wrists.

It mainly/mostly starts as "I have a small wrist, and I want this big watch, can I?"

Since I hadn't really measured by wrist before, didn't have a clue about the sizes that people were talking about.

Today, I remembered that and measured my wrist because it is one of my complexes, girly wrists.

Turns out, that my wrist is 6". If you think you have a small wrist (not a good thing to brag about I guess), show me!

It'd be even better if a huge watch on it.

    why am I....so sad....dunno......

  3. I wear them cause i think they're beautiful and can't justify spending that much for a gen yet, not to impress anyone or show that i have an expensive watch. If someone recognize it is a watch worth $25k or something, then they would usually ask me about it anyway and i always tell them about my hobby. I don't make that much a year and i'm still young so it'd be absurd to act as if it were a gen.

  4. umm....I actually posted to general discussion board first...now I don't know how to move/delete the post......help?

it only took 5 days from China to Canada!

The insert is actually a bit dull, not pitch black.
But overall, loving it, too bad I can't wear it right away as the band needs to be adjusted.
Anyone in Vancouver, BC knows a good place to go for this? or do I just go to a watch shop at a mall?

    Here it is :D

  5. Really great info Nightwatch, I appreciate it.

That Portuguese is just amazingly beautiful, can't wait......

Is getting a quartz the only option to avoid movement problem? There's no version/TD that makes a reliable ones?

Just checked out JLC master geographic....it's fantastic as well, different look but same elegance as duometre.

DSSD is also crazy wanted, but not sure if I should get several watches of similar design....as sub.

I know the subtle difference makes each rolex unique and stunning, but I'm also afraid that I might not wear all of them just enough if I have too many watches.

  6. Amazing. Thanks for the inputs. Yeah i'm already aware of IWC portuguese problems and people joking about it blowing up a month after a purchase. But also have seen people having it fine, so not sure if it's hit and miss thing or version-specific problem, still gotta look into it more.

Definitely putting PAM 318 on top of the list though, read about the "mistake" before and gen pam forum was ranting about it, but tbh i don't care too much about that much detail, as long as it looks amazing, works well, and lasts long time.

Funny thing off topic though, is that a guy sitting in front of me on a train is wearing black sub as we speak, but don't have enough knowledge to identify whether it's gen or rep ;)

  7. ordered my first rep, ceramic sub with Asian ETA from Andrew, and already formed a list of wanted which could change in the future.

From the list, is there any watch in particular that stands out as superior rep at the moment? I know some of the watches on the list only have poor reps available. and if there is, could you recommend a TD for that specific watch? I liked Andrew for my first transaction but found out that TC/BK subs are usually the best bet...AFTER I placed my order, these info are not easy to find....

    Here's the list:

    1. Breitling Chronomat Evo Black

    2. IWC Portuguese Chrono

    3. LV Tambour Chrono Brown

    4. Pam 332L Regetta

    5. Pam 318 Brooklyn Bridge

    6. JLC Duometre

    7. TAG Carrera chrono racing black

    8. Cartier Santos 100

    9. Breitling TransOcean Chrono white

    10. Pro Hunter Sub

    11. Breitling Navitimer black

Let me know what you think!

  8. Hi guys,

after joining and lurking around for a bit, finally introducing myself.

I've just ordered a ceramic sub with asian ETA from Andrew, it's on its way, so excited.

Should have read thru the forums first, noticed best sub rep is usually from TC or BK, ah well should be fine.

Looking forward to drooling from your pics!
