  1. After extensive search here and on the Web I have some questions on this exchange. Apparently the Swiss ETA 2836 is about .3 mm thicker than the Swiss ETA 2824. Other dimensions seem to be the same. Someone said that this thickness difference is from the winding stem to the top of the dial. Could you make this exchange by making a spacer to go in front of the dial of the 2824 to locate the winding stem in the correct position, which would leave the hand pivots extending the correct amount from the dial? Are the date wheel and hands interchangable? Does anyone know of any other problems? Finally, why is the Swiss ETA 2836 used in Sub's, rather than the Swiss ETA 2824, since the Sub does not have a day function?
  2. Is there a list of abbreviations commenly used, such as watch models, for people unfamiliar with them?
