  1. I bought one of these monsters more than a year ago but wore it only a few times. It's awkward, heavy, and looks like a clock on even a large wrist. I have three other pams (001, 111, and 036), and even thought the 127 is only 3 mm larger, that seems to be over the limit for both comfort and appearance.
  2. Well, there's no doubt that it's Sunday night. There are a few other things to do. 60 Minutes is on. If you taped a couple of football games, you might watch them. King has a few titanium Breitling Seawolfs left. Actually, it's a good night to turn in early.
  3. Well now it's at 920 GBP. I've reported it twice without result. Perhaps if others joined in E-bay would pull the plug.
  4. It's an Asian movement. I've had the watch for a couple of years. I also have another 036 with a black (wrong) dial that I got before this one. Both of them came from Paul. Even the watch with a black dial requires about 100 turns to keep ticking for more than 24 hours.
  5. I have a Panerai 036 replica that requires an enormous emount of winding to keep it running for a 24 hour period, and even with all that winding it sometimes stops after eight hours or so. Also, the crown guard lever flops and needs tightening. I don't know whether the watch needs cleaning or some other repair, but I'm not a technical type and would like to find someone on this board who repairs watches. I've come across the name of The Zigmeisterzumba, but he's not accepting PMs.
  6. Well, Ebay removed the Breitling, but the Santos 100 is still up and now at 586 GBP!
  7. That bidder didn't go higher, but someone supposedly bought it for the equivalent of $1,136. I'm wondering if this was a genuine sale. Perhaps watching the "winner's" feedback will tell.
  8. Is this also a replica? I can tell with the Santos, but I don't know anything about Breitlings.
  9. I informed Ebay and sent a message to the seller.
  10. Well, now it's at $810. I sent a warning to the current high bidder.
  11. Although I informed Ebay also, the watch is still up, with nine hours to go, and now it's at $400. I warned the high bidder. Perhaps someone else will join in.
  12. If anyone gets the titanium Seawolf, I certainly would like to know the particulars. $200 seems cheap to me; it's even lower than Paul's price. Of course, Paul's Seawolf has an ETA movement, as the replicas of this watch have usually had.
  13. Yes, he isn't claiming that it's an original.
  14. We had a beautiful 44m2 studio with a good size balcony. Yes, we made a small profit, despite the new 33 1/3% capital gains tax, but the greater part of the profit was in the decline of the dollar. We bought the euro for .94 and sold it for $1.25.
  15. It's still up, although I reported it, but thus far the bidding has only gone to $54.00.
  16. I'm glad to here there are few problems with watch replicas in Paris. There is also an American law prohibiting the taking of large amounts of US currency out of the country, but I've never heard of it being enforced. As for our condo on the rue Mazarine: Yes, it was a great location—right on the intersection with the rue d'Buci. Our problem was absentee ownership. Very few of the condo owners actually lived in the building, which was largely occupied by renters. There was practically no concern with cleaning or with maintenance. The syndic was unconcerned with conditions in the building. When something broke, it stayed broken. When the lights in the hallways went out, it might take weeks or months to replace them. The dirt was unimaginable. I never understood why everyone said this was such a wonderful neighborhood, and of course it's in the very heart of Paris, when so many of the buildings are in a state of extreme deterioration because the owners are unwilling to maintain them..
  17. We used to have an a condo on the rue Mazarine, but we gave it up last May. Otherwise, I'd love to join you at the Select. I understand that it's illegal to own replica watches in France. Is this true? If so, do they ever enforce the law or laws against reps?
  18. No, I was on the board and kept wondering what everyone was talking about, but I felt embarrassed to ask what apparently would seem to be a stupid question. Just today I was looking over some downloads of watch term definitions, and I realized that "rehaut" wasn't among them, so my curiosity overcame my fear and I got up the courage to ask.
  19. Many thanks. I'm surprised that this is apparently such an important aspect of evaluating replicas since one would have to look very closely to see it.
  20. No doubt this is a stupid question, but my dictionaries won't tell me. What is a "rehaut"?
  21. A number of dealers have been searching for me, but nobody has been able to find the titanium model any longer. I have one in SS.
  22. I've been searching for one of these but the titanium seem impossible to get. Some dealers still have a few in SS. I can't understand why this rep was discontinued.
  23. We live in Miami Beach from December through April. I certainly would like to attend a meeting. Miami or Fort Lauderdale would be ideal.
  24. What I'd like to know is whether anyone can tell me where I can get a titanium Seawolf. The Seawolf replica has been discontinued, but a few SS examples are available here and there.
  25. I certainly agree with Joe on this. Many of us replica watch fans are "all thumbs" and don't have a clue about repairing watches. If a watch is sold as being in working condition, it should work, period!
