  1. Hi everyone, Need to find replacements to put in my watch winder. The original pillows were crap and I think these will work better - but I don't want to buy all the boxes too... Thanks, B
  2. You could try here... http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=100195&hl=&fromsearch=1
  3. I think this may be it...if anyone has an opinion chime in please! http://www.ebay.com/itm/201340539683?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D201340539683%26_rdc%3D1
  4. Yeah, they're "wrapped", not solid. Thanks anyway. Bump. B
  5. Hi guys, I'm looking for the above mentioned. I can find plenty of 14k TT, but I was hoping 10k might keep it in the $400 neighborhood? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Bob
  6. Which movement holder did you get? Pics would be helpful. B
  7. Yes it should. Keeps the movement/dial secured to the case with the two tabs. I don't even see how you could get the tabs under the lip with a gap like that. I've built two now and have not had that problem (though with a 2824)... Bob
  8. My build consisted of the HR Case set, WSO insert, T-19 plexi (UV cemented), Athaya crown, holes drilled and case softened. I am VERY happy with the outcome and it is one my "keepers". Bob
  9. Crown guards are the most obvious tell. Other than that it's a winner... B
  10. That's a great base for a cheap build! Lots of these projects on the boards... Bob
  11. +1 DVNE. no holes for dial feet, and no way to clamp them with tabs and a movement ring. You have to use dial dots to secure the dial. You have to get pretty creative setting it in the case properly as well. Getting it out of the old case is another real hassle (if you haven't already done so). Many are integrally designed into their case, so removal is VERY destructive.
  12. Yes - new tube and crown. Happened to me as well. I think I got them from Ofrei. Gen was less than $100 I think... Best, Bob
  13. From what I've read there is no correct rep hand stack. That may have changed...hopefully someone will chime in. B
  14. Looks like it's just about finished. While I'm not too happy with the bezel/insert...I'm very happy with the overall build. Everything went together smoothly and I like it on my wrist. It doesn't rise to the quality standards of a "dbane" build...but I'm very happy for a daily beater!
  15. elGrafico - Thanks for the information. I contacted Gary and am waiting on a reply. Do you happen to have a link the that bezel assembly? B
  16. That is a big tube hole...but the Athaya crown screws right on so it wan't and issue for me. B
  17. In what way "unusable"? I'm no expert by any means, but the case I received looks quite different from the sample and I'm pretty happy with the results... Bob
  18. http://www.ebay.com/itm/171022393380?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Never a problem, Bob
  19. #0, or #1 Easy-Out from Ace Hardware (or any hardware store, really). Worth the couple of bucks you spend the very first time you use it... Bob
  20. WOW- great details. Thanks! I just purchased the case and Yuki dial, so your list let's me know what I can address and what I have to live with. Thanks again, Bob
  21. Hi guys, I'm looking to buy this case and put a Yuki dial on a Swiss ETA. Has anyone used this? I have the 6538 case and it seems "OK" in my eyes. Does anyone know if the bezel is gen spec (because the 6538 isn't). Any screaming issues with this one? Obstacles to a build? Thank in advance for any input!!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/321573767327?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Bob
  22. Levers all the way for me...broken too many second pinions with the pullers. I have a whole box of movements that don't have second hands. Also, pry one at a time (at least for me). You get more control over the pressure exerted that way and where it gets focused. Lastly, this should go with out saying - put a piece of plastic or saran wrap over the whole lot before you start pulling. Those hands will pop off sometimes, never to be seen again. Best, Bob
  23. I build my 6538's from Silix and HH cases. Just popped the sapphire - put on a T19...had to be glued but worked. Bob
