  1. I think it' may be too short, but I'm not sure to be honest. I can pull it all the way out to hack and set it. But it doesn't allow me to find the first position. It's almost like it's too far into the movement. Perhaps I pushed it too far in before I tightened the screw?

  2. Hello all,

I need to remove a 1570 movement from a case that was apparently worked on by a Neanderthal. It took a LOT of power to remove the caseback. The 2 clamp screws inside the case won't budge. I can tell a prior "jeweler" didn't know the direction to screw/ unscrew them, because there are scratches on the tops of the screw heads.

I do think perhaps I'm using the wrong type of screwdriver. I have a set of jeweler's precision screwdrivers, but the blade was too thick to fit in the slot. I've watched videos online, and the watchmakers seem to use just light pressure to unscrew the clamp screws. Surely someone wouldn't have used loctite?!?

Can any of you recommend the proper screwdriver for this? Any other tips?

    Many thanks,

    Brad
