  1. Uhm, I'm not fully agreeing with you this time. I know from my other hobby that one of the reason for which an engine oil get degraded is because it absorbs humidity from the air while it cools down. This happens because while the cavities of the engine goes down in temperature, air from outside gets in from the various "breathing holes" the engine has (Boyle laws again). This air has a good amount of water inside and this water then get deposited inside the engine. I believe the same is for a watch, so I'd change a bit your procedure: open it and let it get hot at sun, but ten make it cool down inside a box of rice or similar material, so that the air that gets in is dried. My 2c.
  2. Let's see I've asked the TD if he has some prevision about the time it'll be again in stock (the factory is in shortage of the case), telling him that it's not a problem to wait for 1 month or so. The important thing is that in the meantime he sends me the QC pics of the other 2 pieces and put them on a side with my name on top of them (so that when this will be available again, there will not be the situation where the other 2 are OOS too ).
  3. I may imagine that some of the blind guys betting on pieces like these on eBay may even get angry because we have saved their asses You know how it works... "Damn! I wanted that watch and some bastard made the transaction to be deleted!!!"
  4. I practically ALWAYS ask the dealer if a specific watch is available before pulling the trigger. Once only I didn't because it's a recent model and because I added it last second while I was also taking something else (that I got confirmation were in stock). Result? Out of stock. This one, fyi: Now, what to do? Wait for stock or searching something else? I'd prefer to wait for a restock 'cause there are not many watches attracting me these days... I could eventually go for a Pam Bronzo (but still I didn't get if it's better the KW or Z-Factory one), or a PP Nautilus (again not clear if it's better to go for Miyota or Sellita version, and moreover I'm searching for a gold one), or even change totally my lookout and take a BR 03 Type Aviation (but I've to add good amount of other money there)... As wrote: damn me!
  5. This one? You can get the gen for 289$ here: http://www.ofrei.com/page573.html or try to give a look here: http://stores.ebay.com/linamarket/FOR-OMEGA-/_i.html?_fsub=674469319&_sid=1043351479&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 (the AP ones are properly repped, the Omega I can't get if they are branded or not...)
  6. This one? http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_143&products_id=996 I hope for you it will be still available... Have you asked Andrew? It has been added in 2006, so it may be unavailable (and normally you'll discover this after your money has been taken)... Also: it looks like if it is lacking the AR (anti reflection treatment) on the crystal. This is quite annoying in day by day use, believe me :/ In case it will not be available I suggest to divert your attention to one of these 2, which are recent and well done (and similar type of watch): http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_143&products_id=11697 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_143&products_id=11698 Also give a look to the link in my sign, it may be really useful for a 1st timer like you
  7. Agree. The cost of gold + the cost of manifacture (remember it's one single handcraft made piece) will be similar (if not higher) than a gen one.
  8. Welcome And a suggestion: read the link in my sign before to try any deal
  9. Hi Bomber, welcome! There is at least another nice guy here around from your Country. Look up in the sky when you hear a lot of noise and you may see him (you'll know what I mean when you'll meet Ezio ) Greetings from Milano
  10. Contact KeNnY on the RWG.bz, he's in Slovakia and does good jobs (actually he's going to relume one of my watches too)
  11. Crap. This is the reason why I HATE the pictures linked and not attached I was REALLY interested in this topic. Now it's just totally useless
  12. Nothing really changed, but now, nearly 40yo, the woman I like speak to me in 3rd person and call me "uncle" ;p So for a "one night lady" it's just easier the other way
  13. Is it the Noob one? I may decide to sell my pam164 for this one... I love it!!
  14. I didn't know this brand. They do some nice stuff like this below...
  15. It depends. I can say that Noob have greats movements and some great models like the Omega planet ocean liquid metal. But for Rolex Franken projects bp is a better starting point etc etc.
  16. So, after reading this superfunny thread, I got to the conclusion that as pussy magnet there are a lot of choices (depending on the pussy-mind), but looks like the only real pussy "turn down" watches are the Panerai I love them, but did you ever get any kind of comment on them from any girl/lady?
  17. Same like everywhere: from 5k€ (6500$).
  18. Not even sure that you can AR treat a Plastic material... No wait... My glasses are plastic and have at...
  19. I'lo try to get that. Now on smartphone is just not possible
  20. Because in Italy that (gen price) is half of a monthly salary that here is considered quite above the average ones, for example. And I'm not speaking about chain assembly workers... They get like 1500US$ monthly ones... Edit: forgetting to add: with the highest tax rates in the fuc_in' whole world! (Statistic from 2 days ago)
  21. And (about gen forums) say that fake watches are for fake people. Generally speaking I found 90% of them bloody snobs
  22. Those are the factories where the watches are built in real. Only the dealers know their locations and coded names. Most famous ones are Noob, BP, KW, J12, H-Factory, Z-factory, Lord etc... Get an idea here at Trevor's site: http://www.tr88watch.com
