  1. I was put out that I'm not even listed in the age brackets at 61. My wife is the same age. Using my Bose noise-canceling phones plugged into my laptop I can go to 14 where I actually notice it, but 15 is barely discernible, I can hear it but I wouldn't notice it unless I was concentrating on finding it. My wife went up to 16, must be why she's always asking me to turn down the TV. I don't know whether to thank you or curse you for bringing this test to my attention.
  2. Robbie, have you tried the new "un-oaked" Chardonnays now being sold? Seems to be the new thing since Chardonnay is becoming passe now but they are more expensive because they have taken the oak out of the process. They are pretty smooth. Funny, since my geezer age bracket has forced me into the low sodium, low-cholesterol seniors diet, the same thing happens when I buy food they take stuff out of, "less costs more".
  3. I'll agree about shaking gin, has a lot of botanicals that get messed up from shaking. But I don't see that logic with Vodka, only the slight essence of aftertaste is what separates the finer smoother vodkas, they don't get bruised by vigorous shaking and still come through, even on the paintshaker. I'm a rye vodka fan, thus I prefer Polish vodkas a lot and probably why you get that woody finish that I enjoy. Others that I like a lot over Belvedere is Hanger One, followed by Ultimat (blend of 3 grains).
  4. johng: HISTORY WORD: Demsey, myself and a few oldtimers will recall this famous incident which reminds me of your recent travesties. The most in-your-face young 20 something poster, RYA, attended a So. California G2G which I think to date is still the largest RWG ever held (9 members). I had met RYA in LA F2F a couple of times on trips and he was way too smart, intelligent, and sarcastic about life for his age, like you, I guess it comes with the territory. (Before RWG1 went down Demsey recently used RYA's avatar which was a pic of RYA's ex-girlfriend as his own avatar as an inside joke) At this famous G2G, Klink (Phil) also attended and by the pictures I can tell you that he does look exactly like the Klink character from Hogan's Heroes, hence probably why he adopted the nick! Also in attendance was dlgates (Dave Gates) the highest most esteemed RWG member that ever was, he recently surfaced in this POST (Only viewable by Platinum members) after disappearing for a couple of years due to cancer. After the G2G Dave Gates invited RYA for a few more drinks at Dave's friend's house where he was staying (Dave was visiting from Texas). RYA got on Dave's computer while he wasn't looking and posted some pretty rude posts on the forum under Dave's identity. Even for RWG1, if you can imagine, the membership was outraged. The result, everyone just shrugged it off, even without an apology from RYA since everyone knew he could care less and was just chuckling to himself that he was even more in-your-face than his usual manner and was never banned, this was much worse than what you did. RYA later had another incident where he posted his suicide note on the forum, you'd think the membership would have reacted with a "cry wolf too many times" mentality but everyone rallied around. Even TTK (Neil) and myself with a couple of personal phone calls to RYA and his parents confirmed that it was real. What's my point of this? The mentality of this forum, where a lot of those members from then are still around here, is non-judgmental. Glad to see you back to form, but I think you need to concentrate that extra nervous energy on getting a more tolerant clone of the RWG1 Insane Asylum up and running before the good nature of the admin wears out. I know you don't drink but I have several different sides to my online personality and the drunken part misses the free-for-all, thus for that part I'm forced to visit this Looney Bin. Well, time to down this martini and shake another, if you hadn't caught my recent off-topic post HERE you'll see it is a reflection that my semi-retirement is semi-boring and as commented on, I have too much time on my hands now. Cheers.
  5. Thanks Ry, I enjoyed that article. Wassup with you too oldtimer?
  6. Its not for us to judge you John, only you can yourself in time, if not immediately, over time. Time judges all. As Klinksonian as I can: Life is Good.
  7. Well Doc, at least we know that the Dec-July "Merry Christmas Header" will not disappear for a while so it can be regurgitated. We can all add it to our signatures next month and see how long it takes to melt.
  8. But sometimes, everything has to start again from nowhere........(1 MONTH AFTER THE BIG BANG)
  9. RWGlite or Replica-Watch-Blog are both available since you are really not looking to form a forum to attract serious replica watch people, it will remain small and exclusive (elite if you must) in it own right just out of the type of members it will have and because the threads all eventually end in boobies or dramas, why, because its supposed to be tolerated. All this because of no moderation and no moderation repels serious watch people to go to more comfortable climes. Besides, didn't merciless torturing of unarmed clueless trolls that wandered in become the pastime? I say go for the what it is and stop glossing over the facts, its a blog that is connected to replica watches. History..............past or future? Too bad about the database but a lot of the information has been repeated in this forum so really it is not lost. Jetmid needs to be finally put out to pasture.
  10. My original point exactly, if the inmates are running the asylum, doesn't a Looney Bin just serve as an ordinary subforum since all the holding cells are then just the same?
  11. Well, my eyes do glaze over sometimes reading all the histrionic prattle of the Flying Dutchman crew now without a boat, but, within spirit, don't forget to let me know by PM when the new ship sails. I'm not down by the harbor enough nowadays to keep up to date with the ramblings of the press gang and don't cotton to Shanghaied measures since I usually always had a few in me when "posted" at RWG1, but I'll sign on for an un-moderated forum. S'not like I haven't been an advocate of the anarchist cruise before. Shouldn't have a Looney Bin this time around as that seems redundant and a moot point. I would hope that somebody saved the Merry Christmas header (pretty sure Ryyannon has it), that would be a great start and set the tone for those that think all the disorderly conduct had somehow been finally sunk. Oh, and watches might even be discussed from time to time. Over to you.
  12. Great Ken, never had any doubt, that's why I never bugged you about them.........looking good.
  13. Ya know Dave, I've nothing against any of the forums, to each his own, but as always, if you are a fan of one, or frequent it more, you get under the illusion that it must be more popular (at least that's what the claims tell you). I pointed this out once at RWG1 regarding that claim above, but RG has a lot of frames (pages per visit) one must go through in order to get to the info so going by "frame hits" gives an erroneous popularity count. Actual visitor counts are really the more honest approach. Go to attentionmeter.com and type in rwg.cc, repgeek.com and replica-watch.info, you'll see what I'm alluding to. I don't doubt the popularity of RG but I don't think your prediction that RWGjr will be imploding soon, I believe you'll have to wait on that happening here for awhile. There will always be at least 2 or more replica watch forums as diversity in the populous will and should always have at least a 2-party system. A different forum for different parts of my personality is always my personal preference. Anyways, always good to see you around and Demsey too. Cheers
  14. Yeah, I just read that you did in the other thread, good for you as this was way too important for USA and the world to not vote. I voted for the right man who has won tonight and that's coming from a republican voter in the last four elections.
  15. A loaded question: Hey JohnG, as an ex-pat in Spain, did you get to mail-in an absentee vote?
  16. I agree with RobbieG. There is no better way to try out that gen. you are lusting after than with a rep. to save yourself and wallet a lot of afterwards "buyer's remorse". You can't find more thorough knowledge than on this forum when researching a brand model as the passion for watches warrants all the collectors' research and all the knowledge of building your own watch that resides here. Let's not forget just checking in for the camaraderie if nothing else.
  17. Yes P4GTR another "Hau`oli Lā Hānau" from another islander.
  18. One only fears consequences if they have a moral compass. I used the term "karma" loosely, only as a term for what goes around comes around (and not as a reference for afterlife consequences). A person that always lives lying and cheating, is surrounded by like kind as the behavior is accepted and practiced on each other. Yeah, I agree, a rich asshole can die a happy rich asshole, and he'll always be sadly remembered as a lying cheating rich asshole. Hell does exist for some people, they live it everyday. Ommmmmn.................
  19. People don't seem to say anything about my watches (even the Panny) except the Glycine on steel bracelet. It gets the most stares, comments and compliments but usually "what does it do besides tell the time" or "geez, what kinda watch is that?". Probably just more noticeable because of the size and all the shiny steel (and they are thinking it looks ridiculous) Its more of a travel utility anyway which serves my purposes very well.
  20. It was the right choice not to sell, two wrongs don't make a right. Karma would eventually catch up with you. Chicken Manny, you should stop being so pushy!
  21. Hi Pugwash: If you missed it, I have a small spray mister I use at the end of the video, that's the vermouth. I tend to agree with you and Chieftang regarding gin martinis (which I also consume), they should be stirred in a glass pitcher as shaking will bruise the flavor of the botanicals, however I'm in the camp that vodka is also considered a martini, which I prefer shaken and very cold.
  22. I'm a serious martini man and needed a colder martini so this was what I bought on Ebay for $500 and fixed up. Came from a downsized paint shop in Kentucky. Though you RWG guys would get a smile since I poured it in front of my watch winder. Enjoy it, I sure am! Cheers, - Omni
  23. I think I picked a lousy time to get old and retire! Cashflow looks shakey.
  24. JohnG: Although I'm very rarely around nowadays, less than Demsey, it seems this would be appropropriate that I would first come upon this thread in RWG.cc while faced with 1000 other unread threads! I'm always interested in what you have to say, so keep posting here in RWG.cc, even if RWG1 goes down for the count. I'm still following your Spain house project with much interest and satisfaction as you progress. I love RWG1 as I was an original proponent along with Demsey & Johnnyboy of the "sinking-ship-unregulated-asylum-anarchy-model" even after the initial big 2006 exodus. Of course because of the universal deregulation of RWG1, more then half the RWG1 conversation now isn't really about replica watches but personal blogs, sorta like Demsey's normal posts. I know there will eventually be an end to the RWG1 mothership, since we were cursed with "what we wished for..........." Its longevity has far exceeded the usefulness of the the 7-person blog its become with everyone else just commenting around the blogs but your thoughts on non-watch related subjects are just as interesting. Afterall, just how much can you digress about a Rolex Sub before all our eyes roll into the back of our heads. ;-). Best Regards, Omni
  25. Thanks for the link Chronus, I wound up buying the graphic equalizer tee. I've had a binary watch before but it got harder to tell the time the more drinks that were consumed so will have to stick to analog.
