Does anybody know if these movements (2824, 2836, 2783, 2770) can use the same movement holder ring. The height ranges from 4.6mm to 5.35mm (2783).
Have a tudor 9401 project at hand and going to use either 2770 or 2783 in it if I can find proper ring.
I could use your help...please

Which movement are you going to use? I had to do a little broaching to get T's gold hands to fit a Cortebert 616.
Really! I thought they ought to be a straight fit

What a great catch
I think this coming watch will be one of the classics on RWG. Congratulations

I posed the same question to him awhile back and only got a "smiley" response. The area between the lugs is properly engraved as well.
I do know that he bought an old-school engraving machine earlier this year.
VDB is getting really good with his stuff. Had to admire his dedication and skills on vintage pams.

That one looks great. The lugs look a bit chunkier than on DSN. Do you know what was the base case on which VDB built this?
-
Could this be non alarm
-
Oh, the case is out now. This is a good thing to all of us who want to build vintage tudor chrono. The only problem is the blue insert. Black one would have been more versatile
Edit
And now it seems that yuki has also a black bezel version

This is one of my all time favourites on RWG and now even more
You must be very happy with it now... wear it well

Bump and a question
If I want to build a 79160 (with tachy scale) with valjoux movement what case should I use?
I have a prince date panda dial although oysterdate would be correct one for this ref. But I prefer 79160 case for 79260 one also I think it resembles older daytona case so should be more readily available.
If anyone needs a case for this kind of project, I've got one waiting!

Oh yes please do more
Hi - there have been 2 versions of 202/A dial - 1st on unlumed - second one lumed in a coffee colour
All are gone I'm afraid - I may make a few more next year if there'e enough interest
Cheers

This makes the project sound even more interesting. Thanks for posting these links
I have a 3646 case in 316L from Watchmaster and StayBrite on this case and the weight is very very close. Staybrite was used by all Swiss watchmakers for decades (20's through the 60's)for their better watches. The 300 series steels did not come until the 60's and 70's and it improved the resistance to corrosion but it does have a somewhat different - especially when aged. In truth StayBrite was simply a brand name for Stainless Steel (Inox for those of you in the EU). As you can see from a couple of articles below StayBrite was used by everyone including Patek, Vacheron and Rolex. Rolex is the manufacturer of 3646 cases so I have always assumed it is Staybrite. It could be another brand but the metallurgy (metal composition) will be accurate to the time period. Here are a couple of interesting articles.

So I can't say definitively that the 3646 used StayBrite but I do know that Rolex used it during the period and that all the 300 and 900 series steels came decades later.

Anyone know the hand sizes for eta 2783? Or do 2824 hands fit w/o modification?
Tried to google, but very little info for older eta movements.

If think it's all you need to know
I think you are right
Never knew these details. Thought 6152 and 6152/1 are the same except the cg
-
The nickel plated one would look spot on 6152
-
Fascinating info. Perhaps one day I'll have one on my wrist
-
Oh - didn't see any on his ebay adds. Have to check again, thanks
-
Is the case also from erkahund?
-
First time I've seen this case was at tz-uk/timefactors where the host Eddie Platts desinged a PRS-2 aka Dreadnought. There has been some arguments which was the first watch to use this case design: Dreadnougt, sawfish, nautilus. Who knows, but it's a handsome watch
I forgot one: Jacques Etoile's Atlantis

WOW!!! You guys out did yourself once again. The case work speaks for itself. Really shows your talent.
These post are best that this forum offers. Pure enjoyment. Thanks for sharing

And the result is good, very good indeed. Especially the case job is excellent.
A dial from Ross would be an icing on the cake IMHO
