  1. Yup, unfortunately

Which REP version would you suggest to get the gold hands to match the gold markers on the GEN dial? I have only seen ( as it was one of my first reps, the previous one which had correct #4 but kinda copper gold hands and markers)

  2. Tachy has no relevance in a straight dial swap.

Are you familiar with taking watches apart? If so, it's fairly simple. The hardest thing about it is removing and re-installing the sub dial hands.

Thanks! Is it true that availability of IWC parts is very limited or non existent in future due to new policy of Richemont?

  3. Your problem would be the tachy......

Just to keep this thread alive, I have some GEN 3714 Dials (white with gold and black with silver both brand new)...who in EU could have these fit to a REP 3714 ??? Or can it be done quite easy? Is there a `how to` thread anywhere?

  4. Uhh, you might better consider my Franken LOL...just my 2 c´s

This guy is selling every year a couple of times the same package. Last time I was watching this was when I was thinking of going super franken so I actually bid but stopped when it got way out of control (the pricing that is). Because for this money you better get a GEN or a Franken (like I have built).

...so might be of help to you (these were the winning prices of the auction back in February of this year)

    Bezel: 380
    Retaining ring: 280
    Case: 980
    Back Case: 361

Total for the casel: $2001 + $55 shipping

So if you want to Franken your pants off then add:

    Gen (serviced) Movement: 1500 euro

Gen Dial: 400 euro (starting price)

    Gen Hands: 200 euro

Gen Tube & Crown: 200 euro

Gen T19 Plexi: 130 euro (service one that is)

    Gen Bracelet: 600 euro

    Grand Total of Parts: $5.030

Then add the cost of professional assembly, waterproofing etc....I guess you´ll be at $ 5.250,- ...and for that money you definitely have a GEN and add a grand more and you´ll have one with papers and box LOL

  5. Guys, thanks for the compliments and suggestions. I´m definitely feeling the love for a Daytona. Actually I have been looking for more than a year now. Actually lusting for these babies, so if anyone would like to part with it and be sure that it gets some TLC from vintage rolex lover :)

Here are the daytona´s I´m looking for..or actually `drooling` for would be better word to describe my state of mind towards these precious timepieces

  6. My Vintage Rolex Collection

The time has come to finally show you all my vintage Rolex collection. I love every one of them and still wondering about what should come next. Suggestions?

    Thanks for watching!

Nr. 1: Rolex 16014 Franken Datejust (built by StoneP)

Parts: Gen 16014 Case, Gen Tube, Gen Stem& 600 Crown, Gen Caseback, Gen Bezel, Gen Linen Dial, DWO (rep), Clark 25-135 xtal, 2834 movement, Rep Jubilee and ends (Riyi), Gen spec 2.0 mm springbars

I´m a sucker for vintage rolex and the Datejust seemed such an elegant and very wearable watch, especially when wearing suits and cuffed shirts. Sourced this watch with StoneP who is just great guy with too many Rolex parts LOL. So when he wanted to get rid of some parts I pulled the trigger. But then the franken bug bit me and I wanted more, more and more...so while I intended to `just` buy GEN dial I ended up buying fully built Franken. But the result is just breathtaking, linen dial is something you have to see in real life and this is a 6 million gen case in pristine condition. Engine turned, I love it and at 36mm it feels so nice on the wrist. Found a very nice rep jubilee on the bay from Riyi002 (what a gentleman) and fitted some gen spec springs to it.

Nr. 2: Rolex GMT 16700 (TW Maker with GEN Insert)

So I just love this watch because it really adds colour to the black and white of Rolex Sports watches. The rep insert was really bad so I changed it for this GEN insert (required a new bezel as well). And now it looks and feels like GEN to me. Got this particular watch from Marvellous Replica (not sure if he´s TD here) but he is one of my favourite TD´s. This for sure is a keeper!!!

Nr. 3: Rolex 5513 Franken Submariner

Parts: Cartel 5513 case (Modded to a 1984 5513 by Rolojack), Helenarou Caseback, NOS Swiss ETA 2846, GEN ROLEX 5513 Spider Dial, GEN TUDOR Mercedes Hands, GEN ROLEX 5513 Insert, GEN ROLEX T-19, Aftermarket Bezel Assembly, Athaya 702 tube & crown, Yuki Bracelet and clasp, WSO 580 ends, Gen spec spring bars

This was the one that got me all started with vintage Rolex in the first place. It has been discussed by my elaborately on this forum. And thanks to the great craftmanship of Rolojack and assembly and watchmaking skills of DR3M3L (Mod at RWI) this baby is now finished. Love the clean look of it and the gen spider dial is really making this a one of kind 5513.

    Nr. 4: Rolex 16600 Seadweller

Parts: Stock BP SD with TC Dial, TC hands, TC insert, TC bracelet & clasp, GEN 704 Crown, Swiss ETA movement

This baby originally comes from @OCCB2 who is by far one the greatest guys I ever met on the forums. True gentleman and went out on a limb to get this baby safe from CONUS to EU. It originally came with TC crown but fitted one of my 704 crowns as the TC kept slipping. And now it is a nice and steady beater with great lume, has date but no cyclops (so no issues LOL) and TC parts surely make this one badass rep that could certainly meet up with GEN.

  7. ROLEX 5513 Spider Franken build

After exactly 6 months since I started on this project I can now announce that my Franken ROLEX 5513 Spider is now fully assembled and finished :clap2: . I´m still considering a GEN 702 crown (Anyone got one?) but then again the Athaya is also great. So once more here´s the parts list and then I let you guys enjoy the assembly pics by the master himself Joran (@DR3M3L at RWI and a very skilled watchmaker). He did an incredible job of putting it all together after @Rolojack did an amazing job on the case (see part 2 of the build for that).

A big thank you to all of you who have responded to me a long the way. A very special thank you goes out to @Ingelero who has been a big inspiration and help in my journey. He is one of kind guy and his love and passion for Vintage Rolex has inspired me to the vintage route.

  8. Looking for Rolex Crown experts to confirm if these are GEN 704 monoblock (or something else), as they are solid SS and not wrapped like 703. They all have hexagonal stem shafts, some signs of use. Crowns IMHO look really crisp.

I´ll stop the talking and go on to the pics and let you be the judges:
