  1. Would you say RWI could use a bit more sugar or salt? You know, to be a bit more "Savory"?

Geebus ssr, you came in to RWI with a non-trusted RWI dealer review and shilled it up for your first post in the RWI trusted dealer section. :) We moved it to the looney bin for you.

Edit, sorry this is your first post on RWI I believe. (Sorry)

    Hi All,

Decided to join the forum to get some info on the best suppliers of replica watches. Timesshop appeared to be highly regarded, so I went to their site and ordered a chanel J12 ceramic for my wife. So far so good. I decided to use PayPal as my form of payment, and was surprised when there was no direct link, but continued with the purchase. Sent details of my PAYPAL e-mail address as asked for and then absolutely nothing from this company for now two days. I find this unacceptable. Obviously it is a genuine site as its mentioned here, but truly awful in its approach to sales. I will be cancelling my order from them

    Ian

2 days you say? Maybe you have unrealistic expectations about our hobby. I wish you well.

(Admin feel free to edit if necessary, no disrespect to RWG.)

  2. I would just like to say that LOS did donate money to RWI after the raffles. I talked with him on the phone as well as Greg. As to the amounts that were given, I won't discuss that. It's RWI business. It's Mike's raffles. He was in charge of them, He donated some of the proceeds toward RWI. If you want to know the amounts, work 80 hours/week on the forum when it's down, put in all your free time on the weekends, try to debug forum software in the middle of the night, take the risk of taxes, charge-backs, and all other hassles with being an admin and I think you will see he has done nothing wrong.

    Respectfully,

    R2

  3. J Bond that is a fine rep. You should wear it with pride.

I have a couple of cases with acceptable crown guards that I am going to inquire about a service to micro weld the He Valve holes. Then I plan to redrill and mill a new hole for a gen valve, in it's proper lacation of course. :)

  4. Hey guys,

After searching and searching for pictures of a genuine rubber strap for the PO, I can't seem to find a good enough picture to see if the strap has seams along the sides of the strap (like the replicas do). I don't really like the seams but is there any way to sand them off and make the strap look seam-less?

    Thanks.

Are you talking about the stitched rubber or the bond type? The gens are pictured here http://www.ofrei.com/page750.html but I suggest you go to an AD and look at some I think they are all seamed on the stitched rubber.

  5. I highly doubt this rep will sell for $450. At that price, they are all chronos or ceramic or something special. I bet it will be at the current prices, like $270 for ETA, $200 for CN ETA (or A21J)

I was exaggerating a bit. I am just real peeved that some rep makers and dealers are passing off eta stamped Asian copies for more than 150.00 bucks. In my diabolical Disney mind they should be worth under 150 for CN stamped ETA's.

  6. Adding to the great list from r2d4 of gens which seem to use the same case...

As mentioned earlier, it's odd that there are SMP "007" reps out there that have the CG size/shape about right. I'm sure I've seen them, but can't find a pic. Here's the gen instead.

If one of these could be matched with the Silix-style dial, bezel insert, hands and bracelet... it would be more than good enough for me!

Oh yeah, thanks Mars I forgot about ole elec blue. Good choice. :D

Maybe I should sell me closed factory before the market gets saturated with a new 450.00 rep with an asian copy of an ETA 2824. Nah I think not. :g:

  7. Thanks guys, now I got it and I'm really learning :)

yes I see that the CG of most of the reps SMP are very far from the gen. Now I know that kinda sucks if you're really into OMEGA. Not sure there is enough interest for this closed factory SMP because having a factory make it they you would need to at least make 1000 pieces or somewhere in that nr... and it's expensive to do and not even sure they'll do a great job.

Then you need dial / movement / strap, as you cannot get that from the other factory as they want to only sell the whole watch.

I could ask around but please don't get hopes up high, because I sell watches that are already made, or I can mod several watches into one perfect one.

I apriated the offer from R2D4 and I would like to personally thank you on behalf of also other members interested in this topic for sharing your pictures and taking the time to educate us :) THANKS!

    Regards

    Chris

Chris you are so very welcome and I will help in any way I can. I also understand the hesitation of tooling up for this case. I also want the rep makers to understand you chould use it for:

Would we sell a thousand units on RWG and other outlets?

  8. Does the closed factory model have the right crownguards?

My gen is at home but they are so friggin close. TBH, I have seen some variations in shapes on the gens from being overpolished. But they are close here is a quick snap shot.

    IMGP3538.jpg

Incidently this has a gen bezel and a gen crown tube/crown installed. A direct fit.

  9. Oh and the bezel pearl thing is a trade off. If you can get the bezel off without damaging it you could theoretically locate a new hole to align a flat type bezel spring or take off some wire if it has an internal tooth bezel. So the built in pearl is good and bad. You wont lose it that is for sure. :D

  10. Hi, I would like to help if I can. I have a closed factory SMP case that I can loan to Eurotimes if he can find a maker to copy the case and offer the case for sale. How many cases does a factory require to make an ultimate version? The closed factory case also accepts the gen bezel with a bezel spring mod. Here are some comparison photos between a newer (incorrect HE ) rep case and a my closed factory model.

It would seem real easy to take the new case and just relocate the He valve, replicate the crown guards of the CFM and copy the gen crown tube. The lug holes on the new rep cases have the spacing to fit gen straps. I also dry fitted a gen bezel on the new case and it fits very well.

In summary, move HE, get some crown guards and use a gen style crown tube.

  11. Exactly! Although I can't even see the "educate himself" part unless you mean if the gen parts don't fit, he realises he's a bit of a numpty :D Or to educate himself on some of the more 'interesting' clinical manifestations of personality disorders (i.e. dealing with Bob Frei). Maybe there's some self-interest/common ground with the latter? :whistling:

But you're still missing the vital point ;) The "more money than sense" adage. It's not the amount of money into a modding a rep per se (god knows I've ploughed a lot into some vintage Rollie and Pam projects) but it's the proportionality of investment and perceived improvement. Buying every possible gen part for the UPO is ridiculous IMO because not only are you investing a significant amount of the gen's price (itself insane) you are getting a return of virtually no improvement in cosmetic appearance, the very reason for modding in the first place. There is no naked eye difference between most of the gen and rep parts, the stock UPO is THAT good.

The real question these people should ask themselves (in the mirror talking to themselves in the third person maybe ^_^) is if these things bother them that much, then maybe they should just stick to gens in the first place. It's these same types (you know who you are) that talk about cannibalising a Tudor Sub to make a "perfect" Rolex Sub

Gottcha Doctor of the black rock. ;)

  12. ...i agree with the "to educate himself" part.

As for the "...and others" i'm really curious to see how many of the thousands RWG members are intended to spend another $600 or more to put some genuine parts on a (good looking already) fake watch.

A poll would enlighten us :D

    Thanks Spa,

For the record, I see what Doc is saying and I completely see the point of view with the cash amount funneled toward a rep. I was just trying to show that whether it be a Polex, Omeega, IWC or any brand, it is still the same obsession at any price. Go Radio Go!

  13. I'm with r11co here, I'm not knocking you all (each to their own) but I think you're all certifiable pedants when it comes to the UPO :

I've had mine for a year now, sporting gen rubber, and I've just had the crystal AR'd - now looks gen.

Remember, passion is a positive obsession, whereas obsession is a negative passion :whistling:

We are all certifiable including you Doc! A strap here, A crystal there, there is no difference in your analogy to modify antique or a modern watch. Your opinion is a contradiction in flavors. A thick crust pizza would be horrible with extra cheeze but one of those good old fashioned thin crusts would really benifit. Cmon!

It is an obsession fauxchizzle on your dizzle. ;) If someone wants to go all out on 22's for his Faux/Jeep Hummer I say let him and I would encourage it. Why, because it is facinating and educational.

  14.

I Google Imaged "I like Vaginas" as my search string, and unfortunately, no one has come up with a t-shirt bearing this vaginal statement.

    But I did find this.

    bagelvaginavk6.jpg

(How does that look like a vagina?? "Fun atmosphere". I bet)

Too Funny V! I left out the shirt that says, "Dicks are Kool" just like the cigarettes.

  15. It's only gay if your balls touch.

Watches don't become gay; people do. By standard "gayness" rules, Panerai are the Brokeback of watches, all repressed macho leather straps doing manly jobs on the outside, but so gaygaygay on the inside. However, that doesn't mean everyone wearing Panerais is gay, much like wearing leather chaps and a cowboy hat doesn't make you gay ... not all the time, anyway. ;)

Much like being called out for wearing replicas, it's not the watch, it's the person wearing it. Some people will get called out for wearing a replica Rolex no matter how good a replica it is and others will never be called out, much like some straight men can make a Chanel ceramic watch look like a decent fashion choice and some gay men can make a Seiko diver look like a gay accessory.

If your shopping decisions are made by whether or not someone else thinks something is gay, you're in trouble, but they're in even more.

I coundn't have put this more eloquently Puggers.

Big Black BB and Rob wear white J12's, they happen to be Hetro. I wear a 38 MM Aquaracer Automatic Gen, sure a lady could wear it as well as a child. I just happen to be hetro but I don't care if people think I'm gay or homosextual, I like the watch. If you worry about what other people say about you, Put on a shirt that says I like Vagina's and wear your watch without worry.
