  1. RWGForum = Tim, "the Toolman", Taylor, but with more knowledge of how to do things right. Just as funny, though.

RWI = An airport full of watch enthusiasts, many of which know what they're talking about. Some are families of tourists, others businessmen, all tolerating each other.

RG = Mall of America at Christmas time, but in a group- hug, with Tons of watch knowledge. They have blocked the doors open so new shoppers are arriving by the busload hourly.

RWG.net 1.1 = Howard Stern and Ricky Gervais's bastard child, who knows a lot about watches, but tends to masturbate in public MUCH too often.

(After what was done for me and my family, I love and visit ALL of them as much as I can, and these are meant to be comical observations only ;) ).

  2. I AM A CANCER SURVIVOR! Found out today that the 4mm lump in my lower left lung is gone, and was probably a pneumonia scar from last winter! I am in the hospitol again now for another heart surgery, (which I obviously survived), and feel like I am the one who won a genuine Breitling. You, ladies and gentleman, have helped give me my life back, and I thank you all from the very depths of my soul.

  3. No lie, Chrono.

I just stopped by to say a sincere, heartfelt thank you to all who participated. It is a debt I will never be able to repay, unless I win the lottery, then it's, "GEN BREITS FOR EVERYBODY!"

We are safe in our home, which we almost had to sell. My sons are still in school, but almost weren't. The lights are still on here, as is the heat, and you guys are responsible for that.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

    Donny

  4. Guys, I am SO sorry I didn't find this thread sooner! I have a few minutes to update all you fine folks who have volunteered either prizes or donations, but mostly to thank you. Many things happened to our family this summer, (reffered to as, "The Summer from He11"' in our house), to ruin us financially. I mean 10 straight days of plain macaroni ruined. But at least we had food, right? Coupled with my continuing fight with cancer, some relatives that needed money, and a few other things, and we were in danger of loosing the house, electricity being shut off, and recalling 2 sons from college, (even though both were working 40 hours a week along with full time classes). SFA, Stan, and Dave at RG all stepped up to keep us in our home, and you all helped.

Words cannot express my gratitude, guys, and you are all gens in my eyes. Thanks!

  5. Never heard of 'em. Ofrei? How would I get the short section of stem out of the crown? Probably just replace the crown, right?

    Thanks

*edit* Did a little searching here, like I should have before, and found out about stem extenders and The Zigmeister's vinegar trick for getting the old stem out of the crown.

  6. Well, Rob is a scammer. I won an auction back in the beginning of June, and he strung me along for 3 months saying they are back-ordered. Then I find out he's been selling my same strap to others for more money! I would have waited longer if I hadn't seen that he was continuing to sell them to others. I got a good price at auction, so his first sent invoice was TWICE what I actually owed him. That's a LOT of padding, folks.

Total scammer. I think he was just being stubborn and not sending me my strap because he knew he could get more money by selling for a better price to others.

Then he sent me a tracking number that PROVES that the Post office didn't even get the package into their system.

    Don't buy from Chronoswissprince.

ps. Yes, I was always polite, patient, and resonable with him.

  7. Problem is, he's been stringing me along for 3 months, all the time telling me he's waiting for his order, and he'll ship as soon as he gets them. I think he KNEW if he dragged it out, he could get away without me having to dispute it, leave negative feedback, or even do a charge-back at Paypal.

I would have continued to wait had I not seen that he sold the same thing to another buyer for more money.
