From what I understand most of the date windows have been updated to more closely resemble the correct location. They still do not have the taper or the very small bevel around the edges. From my point of view the newest version attracts too much attention to the date window with its rather large bevel that comes to close to the 5 o'clock marker. Notice how much further away the date window is from the 5 o'clock marker in pics 1 and 3. I don't think that sanding the inside of the hole down will fix this problem 100% because the outside location of the bevel will still be located too close to the 5 o'clock marker. All in all both are great reps. In my opinion it just depends on how close to the original we want our watch to be and what factors are most important to us.

Does anyone happen to know what size screwdriver is required for the screws in the links in the band, .080? What size for the case back screws?
Thanks

Count me in for one in run 5.

In the real world people know instantly what an Omega or Rolex is. VC is another level of brand. The gen retails for close to $7,000. The nice thing about VC's is people who know watches will know exactly what it is without having seen too many. Others will have no idea. And the bracelet is really nice. You will never get called out on the new VC. The liklihood of you seeing it on someone else's wrist is very low.
Agreed, It's nice to have a watch that you don't see on everyone else's wrist.

No I didn't.. an Eta 2824-2 movement is an Eta 2824-2 movement.. no pictures necessary..
Unless you doubt me ?
No I don't doubt you, I was just curious to see the movement.
Does it look like Staphane's?

Okay... I got curious,.. and opened the back,.. it's a true eta 2824-2 movement,..gold plated, very clean..
Now to get those 8 tiny screws back in,.. and without damaging them or the case..
Did you happen to take any pictures????

I would also be very intrested in one if you decide to do a few more. Please let me know...

I'm sure he will, though mine was the first order and was actually I just found out, sourced,
and I have the first one, so he's ordering more... and the photos will come from them..
Regarding the AR,.. Chieftang & Flavor Flav are doing excellent work in that area,.. and I'm sure much
higher quality AR than what the rep manufacturers can do..
Think I will stick with them,.. though Jay is looking into getting it done later,..I'm sure it will be a while
and not worth waiting for, since we have our guys here...
Not to mention that these models, due to their accuracy may end up like the old factory reps...
discovered by the law then destroyed by steam roller, or forced out of production ..
So I would say that if you love the VC Overseas.. get these fast or possibly lose out forever..
So does jay have more of these in stock or is he waiting for an order?

Will the Miyota work as a replacement for the Chinese movement in the seconds @ 6 Daytona's?
-
Brook - There is a reason for the difference between them -- Ubi's Daytonas are based on the previous model (16520 with secs at 9), while rag9fx's are the current model (116520 with secs at 6). The current Daytonas have the wider index markers.
I'm new here so excuse the question. Is this particular Daytona in the higher priced range of Daytona replicas? Are there any replicas that come almost spot on to the real thing. I read in a few posts back that one member had owned many Daytona Replicas even one that was 1k and still did not feel that any were close enough to the original.

A bit off topic but would it be possible to transplant an ETA 2892 into this watch? I know it is slimmer but that is about the extent of it?
