The TT3 looks to be gen, but the Corum...well, some detailed shots will definitely help.

The rule of thumb is that if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

It is manufactured by the same people who make the Graham watch line (British Masters SA).

Though I want to say that the A.294E is a modified 6497 with a complication plate and a larger mainspring, I have not found any documentation to support it, other than the bridges of both movements look identical.

Is this true? Because AFAIK, though both the 7750 and A07.211 share nearly 90% of parts, six are unique to the larger movement. And that includes the datewheel.

I think that it is a nice gesture for the wife to be to purchase him a watch, though IMO she should get a good idea of what his tastes and preferences are then purchase a watch based on those, rather than to have him pick it out.

I, too, have experienced this type of behavior. And I feel that it is somewhere between infatuation and obsession.

I know I am a bit crazy when I look at the gen dial and it is a bit crisper in text, maybe 0.0000000002 cm to the left; etc. and I obsess over the search for one and when I actually receive it, I am slightly dissatisfied.

I guess it's not so much the actual receiving of the piece, but the search thereof gives me the thrill.

I would like to see the SA in person...never have I seen an SA rep that "passed muster" in the quality department, but this one sure does come close!

I am wondering about the bezel too...looks too good to be a rep bezel! I like the finishing and though it might need a couple fixes to make it faithful to the gen, it is "wear worthy"!

I have to agree with Freddy with the points above where Lange does seem to be a step ahead when it comes to technology in their watches rather than just following trends. But I do say, that some of their designs are striking.

And their 31 is what I would consider to be a balance between design and technology. At 47mm, it's not stealthy, but how impressive is 31 days worth of carefree watch wearing? Needing only to wind it once a month? To me, it 's something to be considered when one is "WIS enough" to appreciate the intrinsic value of his watches, but gets annoyed at the fact that he has to wind them every 2-3 days!

But then there's also the functionality factor. Did you know there's another 31-day watch out there---the Jacob Quenttin? Seven barrels and a unique time-display system. Unforunately, early reviews of that watch say that it's failed to live up to its' standard of actually running for its' stated 31 days. The Lange, on the other hand; although not tested (backed by hard evidence of functionality), has been trusted to perform as expected.

What I worry about, though how the 31 day power reserve system affects its' timekeeping, since a much larger mainspring would mean larger variances in torque between initial wind, halfway, and near empty. But some would also argue that the same issues also occur in standard manual-wind watches as well. Anyone care to chime in?

My question is that is they sort out the seconds @ 12 issue, it would solve subdial placement; but what about subdial spacing? We know that on the gen the 12 O'clock subdial is spaced slightly lower towards the center seconds than on your average A7750.

The second one is how much thicker would this modded A7750 would be vs. the gen? Remember the Oh-so-infamous Daytona? That is uber-thicker than the gen.

But the 202 is already a forward step in "evolution" in what Mr. Baumgartner and URWERK have come up with during the few short years of the manufactures' life. They have definitely created some impressive pieces and one will be definitely nifty to pick up...

But for me, I'll wait for the second-hand market to sell me one.

Italiano, you know I always love any piece you bring out there...and this is no exception.

I remember pamfried over from RWI, and he has discerning taste with his reps, so it's good to know you've got a quality piece there. And I do know that MBK's are quality pieces as well...but are they really worth the $$$?

I ask because I've got a Nautilus, but want to jump into ROOs.

Pictures don't do the MBK Nautilus justice; you really do have to see it in the flesh to appreciate its' beauty.

The quality easily tops other reps and EVEN super-reps, for that matter.

It is beautifully constructed and finished; uses a proper gasket to ensure water-resistance.

The crystal sits (near) perfectly on the face; there are no cooked lines, and though at some angles it may appear that it sits flush with the "bezel", it sits slightly higher.

Where the watch truly stands out is in the sunlight. It's a treat for the aqua-faced owners and pronounces the ridges of the dial. The brilliant brush finish is accentuated by the lack of reflecting sunlight except only on the polished surface(s).

It is very understated and in unknown to most others. Does it go with suit or sport? Anything!

IMO, aside from the dial font (which, BTW, looks more like the older 3700), you are missing out on what a super rep should be. And it is DEFINITELY worth every penny of what the current price is.

These new super avengers actually look VERY nice in real life. They have a better feel to them than the old one. Its hard to explain but it looks and feels more "expensive" than the old model. it has more of a feeling that the higher end Bentley models have. I had the oportunity to play with one for a bit last week and its very comfortable and the new "Pilot II" (I believe thats the name) bracelet is a 100% improvement over the cubical looking link bracelet on the old model. This would be a great model for GZ to replicate... Angus are you listening? Can you pass along a message for us that the people want a BCE quality Super Avenger!!

If you mean the 2008 models have a different feeling than the 2006 models then I know what you mean.

The 2008's are not much improved over the 2007 except for the dial; essentially everything else is left unchanged. The Pro II, although also an improvement in design over the previous Professional in many aspects (streamlined links being one of them), still lacks a diver's extension clasp. That is what is missing on what should be a diver's watch, IMO.

The BR01 series have ETA 28xx movements.

So, the "Do Not Unscrew" screw is positioned directly on top of the stem release button.

Obviously, the DG2813 and 2892 both have different stem release locations. Therefore, the screw would be in a different position than on the gen.

Although the "hex screws" are definitely an improvement, with that there are many flaws that come on the new version.

The crown is slightly off, the caseback text is different than the previous version, and not all models should say "BR01-94-S-00555".

I wonder if those are actual removable hex screws. And if so, does it remove the lugs like on the gen?

i surely hope they release a chrono avenger-like or skyland-like in a version like this!

Although the current version is being overshadowed (oh the irony!) by the Skyland, I liked the elegance of the polished numerals and the "Automatic" script.

Movement clamp screw came loose; Check to see if there is something jamming the balance wheel from running.

If you can do it yourself, it's a simple fix. If not, heed advice and check with the dealer.

Here's my 74 on "copyright overkill":

The datewindow is like "trapezoid overkill".

The dial font is off...everywhere.

The bracelet looks substandard with no polished inner edges...everything looks to be curved.

The crown protudes too much from the case. And it is also the wrong type.

The case looks to be a poorly finished brushing job.

The hands are good, though. The numeral track looks good too.

Besides, this post is nearly a year old. Buy from Silix and you'll get a better rep for much less.

Will be wearing this tonight: and bringing back out the Breitlings!
