Want to share with you my 1016 build.

It took a long way as I collected and chased parts for more than a year and a half.

Great thanks to Rolojack for amazing advices and case reshaping!

A bit of history.. I fell in love with early 1016's. Chapter ring..gilt dial..underline..

That's a dream unfortunately unachievable for now..

I made my first one 1016 2 years ago out of 16000 case, gen 1570 movement, Yukki dial and hands, Clark crystal, JMB bezel.

That was okay for the first try, but nothing was right there..

This time I tried to make as close as possible full Gen Explorer.

Specs:

Gen 16014 case amazingly reshaped by Rolojack.

Gen 16000 caseback

Gen 1575 movement.

Gen 1016 "Stern" Dial

Gen Sub hands(they where sold to me as Explorer hands on VRM, minute hand shorter than should be..)

Gen T22 Domed crystal.

Gen Bezel(outer diameter is half mm smaller than should be..have no idea why, inner diameter is perfect to fit T22)

Gen 78350 bracelet with 558B endlinks.

Gen 600 crown

Proper springbars to be added!

Hi Guys,

Want to share with you some pics of my Monday's night bidding on eBay.

I've looked for some movement part to exchange in Yuki 3135 for my modern sub build. I set the alarm on 5.45 am and got that all for £12.80 shipped!

Some packages are for 3035 and torn but all parts inside.

Hi guys just found this one for sale..

Pics are crappy, seller can't provide any better ones...

As you can see here is a 16014 DJ case set looks like it's from 80's with 62510h jubilee band code 01.

All this stuff looks Gen to me, apart from coronet on clasp, and maybe lug engraving a bit high, hope I'm wrong.

I do have almost all parts

To build it, case set, crystal, bezel, tube.

So I could save on details a bit and use Yuki 3135 with Gen bridge and rotor.

I thought about buying her full Gen.

But I have parts to build it, and honestly use Gen 3135 in DJ is not worth it.

Guys, need your advice, I'm about to build my mother a present DJ 15200 or 16200/16000 full Gen except movement.

Do you have any suggestions on what clone of 3135 to get?

SA or Yuki or TC v2(if it exists)? Or any other? Need updated information please.

It should accept Gen hands, dial, datewheel, you know.

Just was on VRM couple month ago, of course not red sub.

As well as 5513 caseset for 1600 euro last week were sold there.

They come up time to time.

BTW now on VRM complete 1016 caseset for insane money 4000 but its there..

Don't think that phong is an option, price is close to Gen.

Couple of days ago I just missed 5513 case on VRM for 1600 euro I think.

And you could easily get gen 1680 for 2000-2500$

I will buy old stock MBW from Rolex finder. Think this is the best option to go.

I can easily sell it and upgrade to Gen in future.

Yes. I'm aiming to get Gen caseset later, but I'm currently on Full Gen 1016 project, it's really expensive...

As I got some parts for cheap, I want to build something close to Gen but not expensive kind of good daily beater.

Later I'll swap case.
