Shame nothing could have been done about Tommy after he vanished, holding a lot of watches. Everyone said "He'll come back" but he didn't. He had one of PAMs crowns for me and I sent him a watch to do a lot of work on. I know everything is done at our own risk but he had a good reputation and used that to screw a lot of people over. It is a fantastic idea but time, and well, time are against me. I barely have time these days to charge my smartwatch, never mind spending hours squinting at very small things and cursing when the Jesus clips ping across the room. /edit - The movement issues are probably just to do with the crowns and stems, I don't actually think they'd be that tricky to fix. The one I really would like to wear again is the SOSF and that's just a threaded stem/crown.

Well I'm still alive and it's great to see some names I recognise in this thread, I came back here after getting an email from Reg a few days ago. I still have a bunch of reps in my watch box, most of them don't work. My very early edition "Super Rep" SOSF needs a new stem and crown because it stripped and I can't screw it down any more. My EL 'ultimate'  Fiddy with the canon pin mod which was serviced by The Zigmeister doesn't wind properly, the crown sort of slips outwards as I wind it. I was never happy with it after the crystal popped and I had it replaced by DSN. My Explorer II which was modded with a gen crown and tube, gen springbars, serviced and relumed seems to pop springbars out and fall off my wrist. My orange 45/20 Planet Ocean from TTK with the wrong lug size, I think it's just the bracelet that's knackered. I remember buying a gen crown from Palp which never arrived and I also sent him a watch for some work which I never got back. I've not really worn a mechanical watch in years. They all just developed faults and problems and I ended up wearing my gen Tissot all the time before moving to a smartwatch. What I've got would probably make decent projects for repairs if I had the knowledge, ability, skill and parts. They're all pretty solid, decent reps, except with issues!

I ended up buying the set of tubes/pins from Cousins and have just fitted one, it's perfect. Now I have 59 of them in assorted sizes sitting in my box which will probably never get used! I'm just pleased it's fixed so thanks to all those who helped.

I like it a lot, if I had the spare cash sitting around, I'd pull the trigger on exactly that model now.

As per the discussion in the thread here does anyone have a spare 22mm x 1mm pressure bar/rivet pin and 2 appropriate rivet end pieces in their collection please? This is to fix my SOSF bracelet. I could buy a whole box of 60 of them from Cousins (http://www.cousinsuk.com/catalog/10/667/1998.aspx) but it seems such a waste to have all of those when I'm only going to need one. I'm in the UK. I do hope someone can help me with this, I've specifically asked the two local 'watchmakers' and they don't have them and I called one near where I work who said he did and when I went there, he tried to sell me a springbar *sigh* Thanks

I've been looking around and have found some pictures where these definitely appear to have screw heads as per this: So is this actually a pressure bar or is a threaded bar ? Anyone got one of these who can take a close look?

Well well, yes, that looks like it could be it, thanks. I just need to make sure I get the diameter right, I don't have a micrometer to measure but I think that it's a 1mm tube.

My good lady just got home, she thought she might know somewhere that could help but they were no good. I've got a couple of pictures. First, here's the side with the screw head showing (I've not tried to undo this, it could be for show but it looks like a screw head to me) And here's the other side where it's gone (sorry, this is out of focus but it shows what's missing). Hope that makes it clearer. The closeup makes that hole look huge but it's about 1mm diameter.

I haven't got it here right now so I can't post a picture, but the bar which holds the flip lock has dropped out - I've found the bar and the two little tiny washers but I can't get hold of a screw (if indeed it is a screw) to put in the other side to hold it in place. I've been to two local watchmakers, one glanced at it and said that he can't do it, the other one spent some time looking at it including saying "is it real?"..... *pause as he looked at the case back* ...."ahh, yes it is (!!!) He had a good look for a suitable screw and then suggested I take it to an AD. There are no other watchmakers nearby, it's all very well to suggest going to see one but there literally are none that I'd trust apart from the two I tried. The one other nearby made a significant mess of my old vintage Seiko diver when I took it into him for repair and I won't be going there again. So all it actually needs is the teensy screw that holds the bar through the flip-lock in place, that's if it is a screw. From the reaction I'd had, I wondered if it might simply be easier to replace the whole clasp. Thanks

For the last couple of years I've been wearing this as my daily wear almost exclusively. It's one of the original Swiss movement SOSF 'super' reps and I love it. Unfortunately the clasp has broken and I don't seem to be able to fix it. Does anyone know where I can pick up a good replacement clasp? I'm in the UK and haven't been keeping up to date with the rep scene so I really don't know who/what would be a good place to start asking around so I figured it was worth coming back here for advice. Any suggestions?
