  1. $tingray you can remove your insert and "flatten" it against a hard surface. If it's conical now that eats up some of the high sidewall. You might need to sand its perimeter so it snaps in but flatter might look better. I've done that on most of mine.

    Great idea, thanks m8 :clap2:

  2. Hi guys

Todays choice of watch is a Rolex 'The Zigmeistermariner' 1680 fully modded and with genuine crystal etc.

I never reallly never thought of it before but it looks like my crystal is "short" :g:

Anyone know how many mm there should be between top of crystal and bezelinsert?

  4. there are none. they all have problems and will require modding. even the most expensive cases need tweaking.

DIY is the only way to go.

name a case made by whoever i can tell you the faults with it.

Hmmmm... Thank you All for reply's.

Well I wasnt asking for the perfect clone but the best when it comes to CG, crown and lugholes.

    Tx again for input.

  5. if we are talking case, CG &crown?

I have a 5512 dial and hands in my drawer and need a summmer project, but I'm not in the mode for 'modding' a case.

Looking for a case with correct lugholes, decent CG and no kingsize crown. Any of the dealers that come close?

All input would be much appreciated.

    Take care!

  6. Hi all,

I have some problems with installing the stem on my 1680 ETA 2824.

I have not touched the movement, it just have bee put a side when I worked on the CG.

The stem is connecting as it should, the three "clicks" is there but it's not responding the way it should. In the two first positions nothing happends,

in the third there is a clicking noice and one the other direction the hands want to move but not firm if you understand what I mean.

I have changed the crown on the stem but I was very careful to get the same length with the new crown. I guess I have to open it and I got the feeling that som "wheels"

or something is of postition. Any input that could help me would be much apreciated.

    Thanks in advance
