  1. Thanks for your insights guys, appreciate it!!
  2. Hi guys, I would like to know some opinions about the blue AR which is sort of a trademark for Breitling. I own a genuine Steelfish X-plus and after polishing the the shiny ring which protects the crystal with Cape Cod I damaged the outher AR. There were yellowish stripes all around the crystal (Chronomat 123 knows what I'm talking about) because I accidently touched the crystal while polishing. Thes stripes bugged the crap out of me so I desided to remove the outher AR completely. As the crystal is double coated I figured the inner AR would be enough to give a blueish shine. A outher AR coat on a divers watch is ridiculous anyway right? So I used my dremel and a Cape Cod cloth wrapped around a cotton wheel and voila.... no more outher AR. The result is pretty nice but here comes my dilemma. The blueish shine is almost completely gone. You can now clearly see the (white) crystal due to the reflections which is actually pretty nice althouh I know you guys like the 'dissapearing' crystal. Now here comes my question; Because the blueish AR shine on a Breitling is sort of a callsign of it's authenticy and not having any blue AR (verry little actually) would sort of make it look like a replica. I would like to know if this would bother you or not?
  3. I wanted to place this in the "knowledge base" but some how I was not allowed to post there. CLICK
  4. Sorry, I recently sold the GT so I can't make any pics. To my knowledge every day and date aligned perfectly. I don't know what your standards are for alignment though. Maybe you can post a pic so I can give you my opinion? PS: You have to know that the date chages at 12 and the day between 1 and 3 so during that time day and date are not yet aligned properly.
  5. Well the title says it all. I've read Rob's break-downs and procedures on replacing the Asian with an ETA 7750 many times but I was wondering.....what about the stem? All the loose ETA 7750 movements come with this long threaded stem and a plastic crown of some kind. - Do I need to shorten the ETA stem and remove the crown from the Asian stem and attach it to the ETA stem? - Or do I simply use the old Asian 7750 stem? Thanks, Mark
  6. Nope, they should align perfectly.
  7. US members only? What about us EU guys? Besides that, I don't own a credit card and with PP it's easy to upload funds.
  8. All SO SF are from the same factory so they should have the same dial colour. Maybe the difference is due to the lighting.
  9. Sorry, this is the only pic I was able to find.
  10. It looks like [censored] but at least they've noticed this model. Maybe after a while it will be of the same quality as the new EVO....but I think the movement will form a problem for proper replication.
  11. And why would you do that?
  12. Fake.. (No AR, wrong date fond etc.) Also no certificates what so ever, ony an empty holder and box.
  13. If I'm not mistaking, the new Evo with the black dial and silver subs is only available with the diamond bezel?!.....
  14. Is it me or?..... the Steelfish is equipped with an Eta 2824!
  15. The bezel screws were fine on by BCE No O-ring on the rep nor the gen!
  16. First of the BCE is a great rep but as usual there are some quality issues. In this thread I want to address them and find a solution for them. My BCE is near perfect except for 2 issues: 1: A gap where the enlink sits againts the case (also see post Woody) 2: The crown won't screw on properly For the first problem I have come up with a solution of which I will post some pics in next couple of days (some thin tape which I taped on the enlink to make it a bit thicker) Now the second problem: I can only screw on the crown about 1/4 of a turn. So just enough to have it stay in properly. I don't know if more owners have this same problem but my guess is that either: 1. The screw thread is too short? 2. The stem is too long? 3. The Tube is too long? Any experts who know how to fix this or maybe already have fixed this problem before?
  17. Dude nice pics..... I don't want to spoil the fun but the ridertab @ the 15 minute marker is wrong.... The pointy tab should only be used on the 12 o clock marker.
