  1. Glad my input was also appreciated...NOT. I'm out. Good luck!
  2. Thanks and a special thanks to Freddy. Man you know Rolex I'm really not a purist so I will put on the wo plexi anyway
  3. Always think positive... You don't need new hands
  4. It probably has nothing to do with your skills. I have 100 euro hand levers and sometimes these rep hands chip paint even by looking at them. You could just give it a try
  5. Does the GMT hand move along with the other hands when you leave the crown unscrewed? If not there is probably something wrong with the extra aded GMT wheel and it's engaging with an intermediate wheel.
  6. So I bought a new plexi from WholesaleOutlet for my 6694. I placed it on a spare date wheel I have laying around and compared it to the gen. You can clearly see a differene. If it is not 2,5x what? 1,5, 2?...how to determine?
  7. I'm also in EU. Doing mainly movements and case work! No reluming!
  8. Sometimes when I wear my "suit" shoes and it has rained or snowed a bit you will get white marks in the leather where the moist dries up afterwards (this is salt residu). Use some medium warm water diluted with vinegar. That will pull out the salt. Afterwards use some wax or (coloured) polish.
  9. It's absolutely fabulous! A real work of art. Makes want to own an Axe even though I live in the city
  10. Nice! Didn't knew BOB sold axe covers.... Probably a different BOB
  11. Nice job! Do you also own a lathe or did you use a different technique?
  12. Clasp actually looks pretty good compared like this:
  13. Real. Price is hard to say. If it needs service the new owner needs to invest minimal 100~150 euros. A brand new ETA 2836 comes very close to that figure. I would say somewhere between 50~60 Euro is fair considering the state of the movement.
  14. Wow. Great review! Thanks a lot!! Terrific pictures. Weird how both 42 and 45 both have different flaws on similar parts. E.g. Clasp engraving, dial logo, AR etc. It sort of acknowledges the fact there are many sub contractors making parts for 1 rep.
  15. I also get the green line but nothing has been saved. Thanks for the input everyone!
  16. So I go to 'my settings' click--> 'edit About me page' enter text click--> 'finish & save' click--> 'save changes' on 'general account settings' page. But it does not show up on my profile.... if I check the 'edit About me page' in the setings area it is empty?? I tried it on Explorer, FireFox, Ipad. Nothing! Any help would be much appreciated! Mark
  17. Thanks Cougar. Great comparison shots. Still on the fence whether to buy a 42 or not.....
  18. The insert is slightly too big for the bezel. They just forced fitted it in the hope nobody would notice/ care. You need to take the insert out and grind the outher edge a bit all the way around so that the diameter is just a tad smaller.
  19. Thanks for the kind word. It is amazing how accurate and sturdy these A7750s can be after service. This particular one is an old 21.600 low beat A7750. They used it to resemble the original V72 movement so they did think it over. But let me tell you: these old A7750s are a nightmare to service. Bridges not falling into place. Poor fitting parts and finishing etc. Fortunately they are almost extinct now because if all our reps would carry this movement I would never service a rep again or charge double for all the blood, sweat and tears involved
  20. Great for checking correct oiling of the balance caps and adjusting of the tilting pinion. You can even see the impurities in the cap jewel...
