  1. You don't need to do a side-by-side to see this version is crap
  2. It could be that the beat is out but only turning the regulating screw doesn't effect the beat. It would be an other story if you accidently touched one of the regulating arms...
  3. The pusher is held in place by a tiny c-clip. It's not screwed on. So yes, you have to remove the movement in order to fix it. You probably also need new c-clip if it isn't wandering around in the case....
  4. This post is from 2006... don't bring back the antiques
  5. Sweet project watch man!!!! I also love my 177.
  6. There are no mods done to the calibre 13 movement. They only decorate it with Perlage and Cotes De Geneve. So visually they will immediately see it's not a gen calibre. Also the individual serialnumber is engraved on the auto wind bridge. NEVER take a rep to an AD, are you mad?
  7. Well I promissed to never again post in the ETZ section (after some vets almost got a heart atack a while back) but I've been following their business and they still suck. And that is the nicest way to put it... Hope all works out for ya Lani and looking forward to seeing some pics of the insert! Mark
  8. It's just a regular ETA clone with a aded stud to create the optical illusion of the single bridge balance holder of Rolex. The movement itself is fine and qulity is on par with ETA (read The Zigmeister's review). It's just the assembly that forms a problem. These movements need a check-up and service upon arrival and they will last you a life time...
  9. Wild guess Noone really knows 1 ~2 weeks before release.
  10. I'm sure it's a problem with the keyless works. You have to disassmeble it and look what is going on. Nothing more I can say without seeing pics or holding it in my hand. Good luck.
  11. Sweet watch! Wear it well! Why do you have a napkin wrapped around your arm?
  12. Same watch in dimensions. If you don't care about the clone then why pay $100 more than the regular eta version? Just my 0.02
  13. Hmm.. IMO the SSD is one of the best reps. It can be modded fairely easily to achive an almost 99% accurate rep. I owned and modded several SSDs: 1 ETA version and 3 Lite versions. Never encountered any serious QC issues.
  14. Here's a problem I once had with the manual date change. Just ading more info to the already great post !
  15. There should be NO oil on the hairspring. If there is it indeed could cause sticking. Maybe the balance jewel got over-oiled and the oil has infected the hairsping. The hairsping could also be magnitized. Either way this behaviour is not normal for a clean hairspring and this way you can never rely on your rep telling the right time. I would suggest a dip in 2552 (one-dip) and demagnetization to solve the problem.
  16. Yep, best position to release the stem is the winding position. It's very hard to popp the keyless works on a a7750 so maybe the setlever didn't engage properly. Remove the crown by pushing the stem release button and try again.
  17. I too would like to know more about possible fake New Era hats.... Hope someone can give us more info.
  18. Great review... just ffin great. It's been a while since I've read a full post with this much pleasure! Thanks!
  19. I use a clear coat that came with my new car. It came in a small jar with a little brush. It has UV hardners, stays perfectly clear and white and is though as hell. I use it on the pearl in combination with a regular needle and let me tell you. The result looks 10 times better than any WM pearl I've ever een. The WM pearls look way to greenish compared to the hour markers and hands, and none has a perfect coat applied (I have some so I know.
  20. Thanks for the info Zig, great pics by the way. It looks really difficult. But then again in my early years I found removing a stem difficult I have all the parts complete and I already gave he movment a complete service. In the end I noticed the balance was touching the escape wheel bridge and the thus the movement didn't run. No idea how this happened but I tried to gently push the balance and make way... SNAP..NOT. So that's the storry. I regularly buy new and more spcialized watch tools but I still don't have a staking set or a lathe . They look expensive so maybe I'll ad them to my x-mas list Thanks again for the input. Appreciate it!
  21. It's the date jumper spring. It is not strong enough. Remove the spring and bend it a little so that it generates more tension on the jumper. This way the date won't jump more than 1 teeth = 1 day.
  22. My first reaction is contact the dealer you purchased the watch from as this is a QC issue. Some dealers provide excelent service and may be willing to send you a new dial. You could have your local watchmaker replace it. Or you could try and use a decal(water slide) but because the underground is black you probably won't see the red print on the decal. Besides that you must have the knowledge to uncase a movement and have the right tools to do so.
  23. Thanks Andy, I would love to have that book but it seems Amazon is the only place to buy one. And being form Europe and not owning a credit card it is almost impossible to order
