  1. A true professional Great story thanks for sharing.
  2. You have some good points but Chis and I share the same native language and we've talked a lot over Skype. I know how his business operates and who does and does not work for him 'exclusively'..... I'm not flaming him, don't get me wrong. I just want to keep some things in perspective as there really isn't a lot of difference between the way these dealers do business. This too needs to be clear to all the noobs
  3. Than what's the difference with Andew, Josh or any other Asian dealer? They too have qualified/ trained (bla bla) personell who hand pick the watch from the shelff in the warehouse.... I've seen perfectly greased reps from Josh and andrew as well! Potato patato it's all the same I think it's all a marketing hoax. If he can get reps outside the cartel and directly from the source in China why isn't he any cheaper? Instead he claims doing all these checks and marks up the price with another $30.00.
  4. Yeah right. Chris DOES dropship! He's in Thailand and dropships from China. It's still a role of the dice. No reason to pay extra!
  5. Look at The Zigmeister's section he did a review of the sec @3 movement. As you mentioned the chrono second hand is still in the same position I would suspect the movement didn't get a full overhaul. For that the hands would have been removed en reinstalled..... It doesn't make sense to reinstall the chrono second hand crooked ergo no full service (I like those academic words lol)
  6. LOL but sure these movements are assembled by hand and not machine..... it should be possible. Maybe we just don't know the right trics?
  7. Dear all, As of late I'm really in to watchmaking. I know my way around watches and movements pretty well. All the basics are covered and I want to take it to the next level. I'm teaching myself a lot of new stuff every day and each time I assemble and disassemble my A7750 a little bit further with help of Offshore's ETAL@B 7750 assembly guide. I got as far as completelely disassembling the autowind module, chronograph module and date change module. Now here's my problem: I had a spare DG2813 and as I've read this movement is relatively simple to assemble/ disasseble I though why not give it a try.... Disassembled the complete date module -Tuned the movement- Unscewed the three screws of the auto-wind bridge and PING BANG POEF it exploded . I probably missed something...... but I still have all the parts ( It's a very basic movement so it are no more than 10 parts -gear train, barrel, etc.-). I know I can fix it but I just don't know in which order and where the parts are supposed to go. I also looked at the ETAL@B 2892 assembly guide but that's a totally different movement. Any help is greatly appreciated... I am hopeing somebody is willing to do a step by step guide
  8. Thanks, great info! I have to admit sometimes magnatized scewdrivers are very handy.... so I won't demagnatize them all
  9. Nice! The only problem with Limited Edions from Breitling are that they still loose value like a mother!
  10. (a little provocation) Well Mr. know-it-all... than make me a video on how it should be done
  11. Well, Tag Heuer checks for leaks in two ways. A regular pressure test but also by sinking the watch into a hot bath of water and applying 1 drop of ice cold water (with Joe Blow) on the crystal aftwards. If the crystal condensates from the inside the case isn't water proof. What I'm trying to say is that it could also be caused due to the fact you worked on the movement in a area with a lot of moisture in the air. If this air is captured in the case and the crystal makes a sudden temperature shift you get the same effect. Hope this helps!
  12. Wouldn't it be great if The Zigmeister made such a video? Step by step inc. oiling and cleaning. I would pay major bucks for it
  13. Thanks PV007! I will give Cousin a try! I already disassembled the whole chronograph module but somehow I managed to brake the hammer spring in the very beginning
  14. How do I properly remove and install this damn thing to avoid it in the future and where can I get a spare? Does an ETA fit? Maybe someone has an old A7750 lying around and is willing to sell the hammer to me (or the entire broke movement)? Thanks!
  15. Thanks fo the tip Lan! Will try that next time. I didn't do that because I thought the paint would become too transparent... In retroperspective, maybe my problemes weren't caused by the paint but rather by the cat-haired brush
  16. Indeed! That's some true craftmanship! Hand painted... jeez I need to practice
  17. Don't want to be an ass, but from those pics I can't judge wether it looks good or not..... I would like to see how smooth the hands are painted , as I did this once myself and it was very hard. I ended up airbrushing them with a professional airgun to get a gen like appearance. I had to use a high-air/low-paint mixture to get the perfect result. Macro's please
  18. There goes our last source for good AR. So it seems....
  19. You can use this to host: http://imageshack.us/ just copy-paste the urls in your post. Than the pics will show directly instead of thumblinks.
  20. Good Job! And thanks for the pics ( although a little low in res.). In this hobby 9 out of 10 reps have some irregularities which one can easily fix themselves. You have proven it. Enjoy your DSSD, it's a great watch!
  21. According to The Zigmeister this is absolutely nonsense...
