  1. Go for the graphite.. the colour of the updated dial is spot on. I will post some pics later on this week.
  2. Just buy a new dial from one of the vendors.... way cheaper!
  3. Indeed. But it's an easy fix, as Verbal also pointed out. Just use some paint thinner.
  4. Nice write up BT.. are you planning on removing the black paint from the engraved case back (like docblackrock)?
  5. Maybe I did not understand. So it is oiled. I thought it wasn't, as you stated 'unserviced'. sorry. Than it's a great deal!!
  6. Hmmm... an unserviced ETA 7750...I don't see the difference with the unserviced new Asian 7750 (28,800). I can't justify buying a $300 movement which needs to be serviced (+ $200) in order to not encounter the same problems one could have with a new Asian 7750.....
  7. Still waiting for some pics of the case back
  8. Navitimer if she likes a big watch...Colt Chrono(38mm) if she likes small watches. My GF loves her Colt. It's a stunning piece. You can read my experiences here.
  9. Great review and I'm glad to see the serial and type #. Could you post a pic of the case back engravings when you have removed the black paint (as you stated). Thanks! Wear it wel my friend... it's a stunning piece.
  10. Great review... I always like reading your posts as you are like me; a huge Breitling fan. I myself however would have gone for the SS version as it is the same as the 1st gen. And what I can tell from your review, it's still available and has a better overal finish. Also the new Breitling Skyland shows remarkably much resemblance with the SS Avenger rep.
  11. Well, you know I'm extremely picky but this is something that even you shouldn't accept. We're talking about a $300 watch. It looks terrible.
  12. I'm glad the hour markers look okay. Looks great IMO, especially with the blue DP I assume you didn't screw down the crown properly as it sticks out quite a bit?....
  13. Doesn't anybody care about the missing type and serial number?????? Also the case back engravings on the rep look etched......what somehow reminds me of the 4th gen PO with the same sort of 'Planet Ocean' etching on the back. I could live with the lack of a type and serial number but not with the etching. I hope they'll fix it when/ if a next generation comes out!!
  14. Let us know how it is! I'm very curious....
  15. Well, there may be no replica of the ETA 2894 but they recently modified the Asian 7750 to have running seconds at 3 (Look at the new Breitling 6.75). So the Monaco could very well be replicated with chronograph function.
  16. Is it me or do the caseback inscriptions look etched instead of engraved. I'm also missing a serial# and type#.
  17. Well andreww... you and me are real critics. Let me tell you, I bought this particular watch from Narikaa (the one from the pics). I modded the pearl with a razor and it looks damn good on my girl's wrist. IMO this isn't a guy's watch. It only measures 38mm in diameter. Girls don't see/ care about small flaws. This watch is a good buy for the buck. Besides the mineral crystal and the movement this watch is at the same level, if not better, than my ultimate BCE when it comes to finish and feel.
  18. YESSSSSSSSSSSSS.... I agree. As soon as the bracelet comes out I'm gonna jump on this one!! BTW: The logo is way off, or is it me? The gen is painted on and the rep is like a silver plate.....
  19. Maybe the brown sh*t is proof that the watch hasn't been serviced or handled by someone else... this can't go unnoticed! Send it back!
  20. Look at the watch trade section --> tools & parts--> I posted a updated graphite dial for sale with pics. The new Graphite dial is perfect in every way.
