double AR looks great on 82! there were only 300 of them made so chances of seeing gen next to your rep are >0.0001%
Thanks for the comments - I agree that double AR would look awesome, but single sided / no AR would be much more durable and accurate! Tough decision. -
you cant. the only option is to source a gen Val. 7750 and pay big $$$ to watchmaker to mod it and put it into your asian watch
Can anyone PM me or reply to this topic as to where I might be able to get a swiss movement version of the Panertai Ferrari range, specificall the Scuderia FER 008 and the GT Chrono in yellow. Any concerns also with the Asian 7750 in these models, from other forums seems I would want to avoid the asian movements if at all possible. Thanks

the are different replicas coming from different factories. also PAM models are different. there are a few threads here comparing rep and gen side by side, differences are very minimal for a few models (black seal , 112 for instance), i never heard of problem with dial depth.. there are also cheap $90 reps, but thats a different story
I had the opportunity recently to compare my PAM050 replica with a gen and I was surprised at how much deeper the dial seems to be set under the crystal on the rep. I found another post on this forum that mentioned the same thing but the discussion continued on in another direction without addressing it further. Is this typical for reps, or is this watch replica now available with the dial positioned right under the crystal? Or is this an optical illusion of viewing the dial through two different crystals? It seems like a bigger tell even than the cannon pinion or the low-horizontal A's now that I see the difference. Thanks for any feedback- learning a lot from catching up on the posts here.

now i have seen a few of these straps going for more than 1K. Are they that rare?

Could you please post a pic of the relumed dial? I have no idea what gen has..there are only 300 of them hard to find AR shots. look at the pic of 82 on paneristi: hxxp://paneristi.com/reference/vendome/images/pam_081_100/pam_82_1.jpg
looks like it has no AR (look athe reflection on the crystal) and dial looks very much like my rep

Dadogs post got me thinking (btw thanks for the link)... May be these pics will be useful someday for printing accurate dials, so if you got good high resolution pictures of genuine panerai dials then post them here.

Question: How do you make sure that the crystal will fit right and water will not get in during swimming? are there any o-rings or some kinda sealing material?
-
the seller is not going to let it go for less than $500...
Or what about this:You could take advantage of the fact that the seller has misspelled "Hermes" so he may not receive alot of bids. Brutal, I know.

these guys here --> forum link are trying to make a perfect PAM dial through a factory. may be you could share your experience with them... good santos dial and PAM dial would certainly attract a lot of buyers.
Yes , I remember, Rocket and Spookycord tried very hard to get this off the ground, with a lot of effort put in, unfortunately it was pulled by the maker.
It shows what effort can do, if and when it is taken to the ultimate.
This was a real pity for everyone wanting a perfect Santos 100 dial.
-
how much did the dial and bezel cost you?
-
cheaper version does not have AR plus the crystal is sapphire vs mineral. open the case back and check the movement too.
Hi,Is there a chance that dealers send you the cheaper version if you buy the more expensive version e.g the one with AR coated and Sapphire and Swiss movement for $250 ? Just how do we know whether we got what we paid for.
I'm just worried that if I order the more expensive version I might end up getting the cheaper version. How to tell ?

wow. that dial looks pretty damn close, especially from the distance. any chance of making more of these babies?

who cares about the screws? screw them how many people remove them on their gen? i've seen SFSO's that have perfect lume markers. my bezel is perfectly aligned and clicks just fine.
SFSO is as close as one could get to a gen for 125$ and this is a perfect rep in my book. only 10% of the cost of the used gen.
I never understood people putting 1K into a rep...
Perfection is what you define it to be. The "Asian SFSO" (21J Version) is far from it. Cosmetically, it is "perfect", but when you take aesthetics into consideration like how:1) The "screws" on the bezel are irremovable
2) Some crooked lume markers
3) For some, the bezel pearl is off-center
4) and while we're still talking bezel, some have also reported that their bezels are also a click or two off perfect alignment at 12:00.
Bear in mind I don't hate the SFSO. It is truly a rep to be deserving of "super rep" status, but the bezel not being able to be removed, to me, is what takes it off the "perfect" short list.
-
yes i have. SFSO.
Does`nt that also go for virtually every rep. we can get ?Hav`nt come accross the "perfect rep. " yet, have you?
-
"You can't expect "perfection" out of a $250 wannabe of a $4K watch." - yes you can expect "perfection" from a rep for even less money, look at AR'ed asian SFSO for instance.
a lot of people are saying that santos is a must have. I just cant understand how they can ignore these things screaming rep.
-
guys, any lume shots?
-
How many inaccuracies can you find?
the answer to the question is - way too many for a $250 watch..
btw, does anyone else find it funny that silix's pictures have a stamp " DO NOT COPY" ????
