  1. Joe,

Sorry to hear about your Asthma battle. Not sure if you know but I am a pharmaceutical researcher and I have done plenty of studies on asthma. My advice for you would be to go on Advair and also take Singulair daily. Also, carry your albuterol inhaler with you but only use it if needed. The advair and singulair are not "rescue" medications but rather are long term controller meds.

If you are not on Advair or Singulair...I recommend them highly.

Talk to your doctor about it and I hope you get under control.

You need to breathe so you can work on those watches!

  2. WOW, some of you guys really crack me up. So much speculation that this watch is fake with all these nice reasons...

Fact is...Slay and others who think it's fake should get some education before spouting at the mouth...

Unless it is a frankenwatch as someone else said...

This is 100% genuine. The dial is correct, the end links are correct for an older model Zenith el-primero movt and the chrono pushers and crown guards are all correct too.

My vote is genuine and I should know...I used to own that exact gen watch (except with SELs).

However, any others who want to tell me why it's fake...i'm happy to read on and laugh!

    :whistling:

  3. Well said Neil. After all we are indulging in buying fakes. Most if not all the dealers are honest on this site and give information that they have been told and believe to the best of their knowledge is correct. If you want perfection go buy a real Rolex. But I suspect that you can't afford a real one so accept the limitations of fakes and stop whinging.

    B)

  4. This issue isn't about the morality of rep making. We all know it's wrong...yet we still do it. not the issue here

It's actually about what this board is for (or what I thought it was for)..to prevent others from being ripped off from Rep sellers. We know those sellers on the web who claim Grade A Swiss replica and others that we know are BS. So, if that's why we come here to get great deals and to learn about what we are in store for when we buy...why not advertise correctly.

I am pretty sure TTK wouldnt advertise one of his watches as 14kt gold if it wasn't true. I am pretty sure of that. Based on the details of TTKs ads, they seem very informative and a great deal of thought goes into them. I've never bought from TTK and he may not want me to after this issue but I would trust his description and pictures of his watches. He seems very detail oriented and trustworthy.

I wish we could say the same for other sellers...Like King who advertise 14kt gold. Unless forum member like being lied to.

I also respect Precious Time for going out of his way to post that his bands are real 14kt gold.

What I don't like are those sellers and members selling items that are misrepresented. No agenda here. Was just trying to help.

Next time, I'll keep it to myself and let some other unknowing member spend their hard earned money (whether it's $50 or $2) on misrepresented crap.

    Good day fellow RWGs

'kin hell......it's $50.00.....what a bunch of fargin' cry babies these forums attract....definite 'fly-paper' for idiots and cheapskates.......what the hell persuaded you that you were gonna get 14k gold 'anything'....YOU persuaded yourself..........!

But it's OK for the rep manufacturers to "steal and lie" about their product...lie when the put Rolex on the dial.....steal when they copy the design...........it's a FAKE........and if somebody is being pissant about $50.00.......he should move to stamp collecting....!

  5. I have been buying items from Eddie, River, Jos and other members of the original RWG. Never had a problem with an seller and they havent had problems with me. I actually didn't have any problems with Richard either. More of an issue of those who advertise 14kt when it isnt. Hence, the reason why Precious Time posted his iluminating post about his being real gold.

And..Here we go again...people like Bres who have nothing to contribute but personal attacks. Very mature.

In any case, thanks for the fun Richard. Keep buying from King.

I'm with you. This Whatch-A-Doin? guy had some unrealistic expectations and a hell of a prima donna attitude. I have a feeling that he will whine about anything that anyone sells to him. So, don't.
  6. Richard refunded me $25 on the bracelet.

My advice to Richard, King, whoever...is to do your research on any item you plan on selling before you advertise it on this forum. I am personally bothered that any member on this forum can say something in their ad and it is not true.

I asked several times during the sale if the watch was 14kt gold and I was told yes. Besides, it's not 10kt gold either. Not sure what metal it is...but it isn't gold of 10kt or higher.

As we all know Caveat Emptor...this seriously applies to member to member sales as well.

Best wishes to you Richard. You were respectable for the refund. I just didnt appreciate your comments about me as I never implicated you. You did that yourself.

End of story and thread from me.

    'nuff said

This issue has been satisfied with Watch-a..

As for King & I,.. I have already posted my sentiments.

Thanks however for caring, but we need to let this post die a natural death.

  7. I bought the supposed 14kt band for durability...NOT TO MELT IT DOWN FOR CASH RETURN. THAT'S A JOKE TO EVEN IMPLY (IF IT WAS DIRECTED TO ME).

I have a TT bracelet that is plated and it is tarnished and that's why I wanted a real gold one so I don't have to worrry about that.

I agree, King deserves the benefit and our respect, she's earned it.

Not to mention that would be very easy for some manufacturer to run low on gold,..and simply make due..

and not much a drop shipping dealer could do, or even PT, unless he or anyone is willing to

test each & every delivery.. losing a link in the process.

I would bet that many of us who think their 14k or even higher is stat, would be surprised..

and most will never know, because like I said before, 10k is much better than plated.

This is a rep,.. I don't care about the composition, as long at it's not mis-represented plate.

The point is, who here is buying 14k reps in hopes of one day melting it down for cash return?

I don't know about you, but the the reason I go for gold in watch is for the durability.

  8. You know Richard...you were okay in my book until you posted this thread.

If you had a problem with me posting my views on the matter...why not contact me directly and ask me to remove the post or atleast have the opportunity to change my position in my post as I do see your point.

However, you decided to not contact me and rather make a post on this site in public view to disparage me? Why?

In my original post I cleary did not mention your name. I kept that confidential and was not going to reveal who you were. I respected you on that matter.

My post was valid as I did make a purchase with information gleaned from you that it was bought from King. I have every right to call her out on the carpet for saying it is 14kt when it isnt.

So, now I am a liar as well because I went to my local watchsmith and had it tested...

I'm sorry [censored] but this is the wrong way to go on the matter.

Again, you wrote me enough PMs during the transaction that you could have told me your thoughts directly rather than post it for all to see.

I appreciated your willingness to refund me $25 on the purchase because it wasnt what you advertised either.

Go see your original post. It says New Rolax, TT solid 14k Band !

That to me is reason enough to get upset.

Plus, I paid you pretty well on the IWC. Considering I can get it new from Eddie or River for $298. You got $250 for it.

Don't become one of these forum a-holes who likes to be nice in PMing people and then decide to be two faced on the public forum to try and make yourself look good.

In fact, you never had to reveal it was you who did the transaction. You could have easily defended King in the thread without saying it was you who I bought the items from.

Regardless, I am shocked at your post and that you didnt come to me first about it. I most likely would have revised my post or even deleted it.

    Unreal [censored]!

  9. Both the Navi and the Daytona (with correct dial spacing) are nice reps.

    Both have problems...

The Navitimer has a few...the silver sub dials are too shiny compared to the gen. The case back of some I have seen are not correct having the Breitling Fighters on the back when that was only manufactured on a special series Navi (Brietling Fighters). Another problem with the Navi's is that the white paint on the dial has a tendency to chip. I saw this first hand and also on the other forum.

The Daytona has a few...the rehaut is too deep...the markers are too close to the subdials...the movt is not even close to the real deal and could have problems...the subdials are too shiny...the CGs are too big...

Even with all of these issues...i'd prefer the Daytona. Why? Because most people can't tell and I've owned both the Navi (sold it) and still own the Daytona. my Daytona is still running strong and looks great. My Navi was just not cutting it for me.

    Enjoy.

  10. This is right, it keeps going even if the crono is off- what can I do?

Sorry to say...either send it to The Zigmeister, bring it to a local watchsmith (bad idea) or ask Jay at PT what to do.

I would opt for contacting Precious Time and ask them for a replacement. If you just got it, there is cleary a problem that your dealer should take care of for you.

Good luck and sorry to hear about your problem.

  11. Congratulations. GSTs are cool.

But be sure to check your 12 hr subdial - I see that it is not correctly resetted - you may have a problem with a plastic brake that keeps it at 12 while the chrono is off.

ouch! :o time to contact precious....

Good luck! Awesome looking watch...i've got mine on now!

  12. Thanks Richard Tracy. You're a real stand up guy and I appreciate your honesty and professionalism in this matter. It's a risk we all take.

I enjoyed doing biz with you and i'm wearing the IWC GST Chrono in Titanium as we speak. Sweet watch. Different for sure than the PAMs and Rollies.

    Thanks.

As for King...I don't want to tarnish anyone's reputation. It just seems odd to advertise 14kt and have it turn out to be something else.

    Anyway, thanks again.

The band was mine from King, however I don't hold her responsible, the dealers

are at the mercy of the distributers or the manufacturer's reps.

King is still in my book one of the best, having stood up for me and taken losses,

    when her network failed her.

    This one is on me.

  13. This is the exact reason why I wanted to get a 14kt gold bracelet because my TT Bracelet from Jos Nana tarnished.

If there was a way to remove the tarnish...I wouldnt even be worried about it. However, it looks like [censored].

If this is true that King is misrepresenting her items as gold...why hasn't it been brought up before?

    I'm really [censored]!

I bought a TT YM from King several months ago. I e-mailed her beforehand and specifically asked for the best one she could get with solid gold. She said it has solid gold midlinks, but the rest (including gold on SEL’s, clasp, bezel) is plated. The watch I received is virtually identical to the one I had bought a year or so ago from Paul and even has the same tarnish issues on the midlinks. I do not believe it truly is solid gold (and probably can’t be for the price). It’s still a nice watch and I wear it often, but it have to keep after the tarnish.
  14. Thanks. Just to clear things up...I didn't buy the watch from King. The person on this board who sold me the TT Bracelet bought a watch with said bracelet from King very recently. Then he sold me the TT bracelet.

I have no recourse with King...only the seller from this board. He will have to go to King about this issue for him to get some recourse.

    Thanks again.

king should be able to straighten it out with you man.. about half the dealers on this board have flukes in their watches but the veterans will help you out with your orders. king's been around for a long, long time
