  1. That's a shame. My father purchased a TT GMT rolex from precious time. It actually has real 14K gold in the bracelet and crown. PT did a whole tread in TRC and maybe here. Worth a read.

    Hopefully you'll resolve your situation.

Thanks. I read Precious Time's thread here and that is great. I trust precious time based on that thread and I am defintely not saying this applies to PT. This is an issue with King and her advertising.

I will most likely buy a TT Bracelet from PT. I was hoping I didn't have to based on the sale from our RWG member. However, based on the gold test...my new bracelet is not real gold at all.

  2. I just bought a TT bracelet from one of our respected members and he had bought the bracelet with a TT Sub watch from King. King's site says it is 14kt. The seller from this site showed me and said as far as he knows...the bracelet is real gold (as Precious Time has reported).

I just had the watch sized and in the process had one of the links tested for gold. It had absolutely no 14kt gold on the watch. Not even 10kt.

I have to say...I'm not happy about it and those who bought watches from King under the same impression should have something to worry about.

What to do about this situation?

I've contacted my seller to work it out. I'm sure it will be worked out among us two. The bigger question is regarding King and her advertising...

    :o

  3. Go with a simpel rolex sub or sea-dweller!!! Pams are over priced...

I think Rolex is overpriced too but at least you get an in-house propriatary movement. PAMs use others movements and for that...they are overpriced.

My only gen watch is a SS Sea Dweller. I wouldnt buy a gen PAM mainly because the models I like are over 5g. I personally don't care that they make limited runs so they can charge an arm and leg for them.

I'd rather buy a Breitling that uses other movements but aren't so easlity copied.

  4. I thought the same thing. The end links are still plated? What about the end links...are they 14kt too?

    @ PT

Hey, that's truly good news. I am not that bicolor watch fan but your post was very impressive to start thinking about a purchase.

But of course I 'd better go for a gmt master II TT with a solid 14k bezel instead of that plated one.

Just another question: The mid links of the straps and the crowns are solid 14k gold. Okay. But what's about the mid part of the end links and also the mid part of the clasp? Which quality of 'gold' is it? I guess it is just plated?

  5. No Panerai or watch for that matter is a good investment. If you are looking to take money and increase it by some percentage...invest your money in a CD or IRA or some other long term investment that will have a nice ROI.

A watch is something you buy that you will enjoy and hope that if you needed to sell it...you might get what you initially invested. Perhaps Rolex is the only brand that will go up in value. Panerai is close. Oh, I forgot Patek too...

If it were me...i'd get a PAM that can't be copied.

  6. Who can I send mine to for a relume and a new crown? Specifics please...

    Thanks!

I just got mine---After a relume and new crown it'll be damn close. sssurfer is right: the PR indicator is a tad bigger and maybe a fraction of a mm out of position compared to the gen. The case/version number is also wrong on the back, but who gives a rip? The movement seems to run surprisingly smoothly.
  7. You're screwed, glued, and tatoo'd

If you think TTK is going to respond to you now you're nuts. You posted quite a review in PGII.

Sorry to hear about your loss...however...fact is...you should have ordered from River, Eddie, Joshua or Trustwatchguy...if you wanted speedy responsivness
