  1. Haha. I raised the contrast a bit to make the details more visible for web, but on the wrist it actually barely draws the eye. Which is what I really love about the 1016...very inconspicuous unless you know what you're looking at. Plus I know a guy who makes cases that aren't half bad...
  2. I had a very cheap 1016 dial that already had some minor damage and had been sitting around for a long time, so I decided to try and build a "vintage" or "aged" 1016. The hands came from an Ofrei multi-piece kit, and the crown is gen from an old DJ. Bracelet is a generic rep with light steel wool distressing. The case is JMB's with a T21 "superdome." I asked him to distress the case, and it was absolutely gorgeous upon arrival. I took a little bit of light steel wool to top of the lugs and by complete accident scratched the crystal, but it actually ended up adding some character that fit the look. JMB's custom bezel is really gorgeous so I tried to not touch that. His craftsmanship in general is always first class, so even lightly distressing the case made me feel some guilt. I know the "aged" or "vintage" look is not for everyone, but I wanted to give it a try just to see how it would turn out. The aging of the dial and hands is a mix of methods found both on this forum and others. Please let me know what you think or if you have any tips. Thanks!!
  3. I was definitely looking for the ingod dial but it was nowhere to be found unfortunately. JMB's cases are real showpieces; I love the T21 superdome; the guy is just a real pro and the price is fantastic. Thanks for the tips with the hands, I ordered the 2824-2 h4 movement from TC, but did not look at his selection of hands. Could you please provide a little more detail as far as what you mean for "re-liming?" Thanks a lot! Thanks, J! It's all about the case! You make it easy, man. Good advice on the Yuki hands, I'll dig up the box later. I am about to build 2 more 1016's with your cases, and can't wait to post the results here.
  4. Indeed! That was negligence on my part; I accidentally let the adhesive I was using to attach the dial to the spacer seep through; but if anything it adds a touch of realistic aging. When I receive the new hands for this I plan on giving the dial a light patina anyways, so it should blend in. Good eye, though!
  5. Thanks! I wish I could take more credit, JMB really came through with a beautiful case and t21 dome. That sells it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks! The great thing about a 1016 on a NATO is to the average eye it looks like a Timex, but anyone who looks closely can see how beautiful they are. I can't recommend JMB enough. His cases are unrivaled. 6. This is my first build. Case set is from the boss himself, JMB. Dial is Yuki, hands are generic rep (temporary), 2824-2 clone movement, generic NATO strap. Still a work in progress; any feedback and advice are appreciated. Thanks!
