Does anyone know if it has the concentric circle thingy on the subdials?
-
I am also going to buy IWC CD '07. I hope that I will find a good dealer who will inspect the watch.
If you need it in Europe I'd recommend PT.
-
All of these points can be made for the CD06 as well.
Some can be remedied, some not.
But hey, they don't call it a rep for nothing right?

Following this thread closely...

I'm so excited -- my first IWC! Welcome me to the fold, brothers and sisters!
I'm glad you've finally seen the light!
Welcome!
-
And THAT's why mine is coming in for a relume.
Can't wait to send it to Canada.

Man, if I could choose each morning between 25 minutes of shaving or 20 more minutes of sleep, sleep would win hands down.
It's all about priorities.
BTW I think this is the only topic where we won't be seeing any reply's from Ms. Barrett.

2006 all the way!
I second that motion your honour!!!
-
Do I dare mention the Cousteau Diver? I don't know about the 2007 but the 2006 rates high in my book.
A day/datewheel change is advised although without is acceptable as well.

Price?? or have I just overlooked it?
I'm wondering about that too...
-
Damn, that looks good!!!

Crappy commercial, cool watch.
Unfortunately, it's only for people at least somewhere in their 60's and up if we must believe Mr. Malkovich.
Oh well, too bad, I'll wait.
-
Quite a nice pair you have there!!!
Good pics too... You must be a proud dad, having twins like these.

I'm not a Rolex-fan but this thing is just bone ugly.
Who would buy a 'beauty' like that?
-
They ask for the serial number because there may be several iterations of the same model; therefore there may be different strap sizes and lengths. The average watch customer doesn't know if whether or not the lugs measure 18mm or 22mm. So asking for the SN eliminates all this. This is probably why they also ask for the watch when you buy a strap because the average person doesn't know how to do it themselves.
But the question is...what will the AD do?
Fit a new wrist band and scowl fiercely at Neba?
Or call the fuzz and have the owner of the rep taken away in cuffs? (Ah, no... not gonna happen...cuffs won't fit. )
I'm kinda curious...

Good comparison, thanks!
I wonder if this is the same version as Silix has coming...the orange version is SO on my list.
-
Someone should enter him in Idols, X-Factor or somesort of program!!
-
Good writing and clear explanantion!!
The good part is you can use these tips on any photo...not just watch-shots.
Thanks!

Try this:
You turn the bezel ring so that the minute hand points to the pearl or 'zero' on your ring.
Then you wait 15 minutes, look at the watch; the minute hand has moved and points to 15 on the bezel ring..
Now you know 15 minutes have passed without having to remember what time it was when you started whatever you wanted to time..
Cause you know from the bezel that 15 minutes have passed.
It's basically an easy way to read the minutes passed within an hour without having to remember where you started.
It's not an egg timer.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
A very clear answer...hell, even I understand it.
BTW: I wouldn't buy any slide rule watches if I were you! ..just kiddingOh, no way!! Breitling Navitimers even have a complete E6B worked into the bezel... Amazing if you can work it. But not for me, thanks.
-
That's exactly what all bezels are supposed to do.
But then how do you use it the way NORing does? Shouldn't the ring slowly be ticking it's way back to zero after you set it??
I use it to time my parking time when I'm out shopping;)God, I feel like such a n00b, wanting to know how to use a freaking bezel ring.
-
The bezel can be used to time your dive or to time a safety stop, but it has nothing to do with ensuring that you don't run out of air. Your remaining air supply isn't measured by time, but by the air pressure in your air tank.
Ok, so it can be used to time your dive, I'm with you so far.
But then I suppose it should count down from the time you set the bezel at, correct?
The reason I ask is because I can set the bezel on my CD at any amount of minutes but...it'll stay there happily all day (Probably all year too if I don't rotate it forwards to zero ... )
Related question: is this a bug in my CD or do none of the CD's have correctly working (ie down counting) bezels?
-
I've worn my CD now for 3 weeks to my great enjoyment but I can't figure out how to use it or what to use it for.
(it's my first watch with a bezel ring )
-
I prefer the 'older' version...less flashy.
The orange bezel and white dials are too much for my taste.
But again, that's just my view of things.
-
Oh, don't get me wrong, I like 'em a lot!!
My german is passable enough to read the originals and they're funny. Translations are accurate and funny too btw.
curious on what price you pay for Fuel
in The looney bin
Posted
Fuel prices here (Netherlands) are ridiculous... about 60% of the price is tax.
We're now up to €1,45/l (or $2,03 per liter/$7,67 per gallon)
A year ago it was at €1,27... ahh...the good old days.
