This might sound like an odd question, but does anyone know the fastest way to tarnish silver. It's 800/1000 parts silver and I want it to look like the tarnished pieces in the set. I know I can go chemical, but it looks weird, and the natural way of over time, well that will take too long. Any help would be apreciated.

I hope no one has to track any to Louisiana this year. It was this time last year ago that Katrina hit. It was pretty bad around here. Today, you can travel for miles in St. Bernard parish, where tens of thousands use to live, and not see a soul. It's really creepy to drive through parts of town, and still see malls, hospitals, and stores are all still closed. Country Club golf courses with grass 6 feet high, million dollar mansions still abandoned, and still NO PEOPLE. I'm telling you, you can't believe it unless you see it first hand. Oh, I forgot to add that I wouldn't sweat the movement issue. While it's true that Rolexes in theory will run for 50 or 100 years, the last time I took in my Datejust to service the movement it cost $400. Follow Rolex's recommended five-year service interval and that's a lot of entire eta movements you can plow through.

I'm glad you said that. Took my Rolex Datejust in for service, and they should have given me some free KY after that experience. $400.00 must be the norm. The way I look at it is that's two 'new' good Reps. The Rolex is going to have to suck it up, and keep out of my 'Rep Fund.' My Sub LV from Josh has never been serviced, been through Hell, and still is going strong. Only thing I can say is that saltwater has been hard on the pearl, even after washing the watch with freshwater afterwards, but then again, saltwater is hard on everything. No Complaints!

The pearl is exceptional, keep it out of salt water though. The watch can take it, but the salt water is hard on the pearl!!!

Found out the hard way on a fishing trip to Alaska what those clouds mean. It means a drastic drop in temparature. Say from about 57 to 32 degrees celcius, if I recall correctly. Damn COLD experience! Beautiful clouds though. We don't get any snow clouds down here in South Louisiana, but we get some wicked looking clouds when our Hurricanes pay us a visit. Admin, I don't know you, but your situation sounds like it really sucks, and I don't know if you'll ever read this, but if you do, know this. We all go through times of trouble and sadness. Lately, some have gotten awfully deep in their threads, and they go back and forth with no real solutions or agreements, such as the "Global Warming" thread, but hey, that's what Off Topic is here for, but when people start talking about controversial issues, it usually, eventually pisses everyone off. I just don't want to see the forum turn into a place to vent about Abortion, Immigration, etc., and turn into the big nasty like the "Old RWG" did.

I'd like to say I was surpised and horrified by this news, but this kind of incompetence, negligence, and disregard for citizens is quickly becoming the trademark of a government that see's us as nothing more than a source of tax revenue and cannon fodder for it's wars. That is the worst thing about being an American at this point in history. Because we live in what some still call a democracy, and are allowed to "vote," people abroad think that the things done by the U.S. Government and Military are done with the endorsement of the people. And when the rest of the world retaliates against America, it is most often the same citizens that disapprove of their government that fall victim to retribution. The saddest part of all is that the populous has been lulled into complacence with relative luxury, and fattened and made sick with everything from marketing poisonous non-food to our children, to overmedicating citizens for every conceivable malady, no matter how petty or insignificant. In short, our Rogue government is no longer in check, and because of it's insidiousness, corruption, and power it has gained over all of it's citizens and much of the world, I fear it will never be put back in check but through some catastrophic world war, which may very well be looming on the horizon.

Edited to add the following: I just realized that by posting this, I have probably been put on some kind of double whammy suspicious persons database where the government monitors the behavior and comings and goings of citizens that both dislike the government and collect replica watches. But why? Why would the Administration and their pals want people to wonder if Armegeddon is just around the corner? Easy. November 2006. Getting out the right wing vote. They're afraid even the dimmest wingnuts what the rest of us figured out a long time ago and won't be able to tear themselves away from Dr. Phil to go vote on election day. But not if it's WW III! See, the last thing we want to do going into WW III is have anyone other than [censored] Cheney with an iron grip on power! And don't forget: Jaysus ain't coming back until WW III gets going. Not WW III. If U.S. were to go nuclear and turn the sands of Iran and Syria into glass, and China and Russia get into the fray, then WW III. This is the same old stuff, the Isrealis can hold their own against these, they've done it before. A long read indeed, but a great story. I get these e-mail scams all of the time, usually from Nigeria. Usually it is about some unknown family member of mine that has died, and they had 20 million in a Nigerian account, and the minister is willing to split it with me to get it out of the country. I hate these guys! This is truly a feel good story when those that prey on individuals, are then themselves preyed upon. This has made my day!

There is actually nothing wrong with TTK at all...

Ask yourself.. if the fully operational Omega Planet Ocean was opened and in the end the entire thing konks out and died..Dial fall out of position, spacer shifted, Date window jammed..etc. Then you will be hating yourself and I can guess that for most, the next move is to email the dealer whom it was bought from and tell the dealer this...

"I got the Omega Planet Ocean today... it arrived ok, I adjusted the crown... think the Dial shifted, date jammed...movement getting a little worrying...etc etc.."

I have received this kind of emails many many times and out of goodwill repaired them at my cost for customers. I do not mistrust the customers and always give them the benefit of the doubt but my watchsmith has told me many times that most (About 70%) of those spolit watches on arrival sometimes are due to customers jamming up the Asia 7750 movements, fiddling with movements (Fingerprint evidence on Rotor movement, stem was shifted obviously).

Honestly, if you are not a qualified watchsmith, refrain from doing all those operations.. it will cause unneccesary trouble to all.. not only you but the dealers. I dont play around with movements myself although I am qualified to install movements and refit dials on movements... they are very delicate items..mind you

Andrew is right. Why must people screw with a perfectly good watch. I don't understand why people screw with their watch, break it, and then ask a dealer how to fix it. It's valuable time to them to undo, what you never should have done in the first place. If one must, and I say must, mess with a watch, then please come to the forum first, tell what you want to do and why in a thread, and then someone will tell you how to do it, and how to do it right, but don't try to play watchsmith, and then come crying because your dumb ass screwed something up.
