1. @solitudex you care to chime in mate?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey! I received my watch order with a missing strap in the not too recent past. Watch came in excellent modded condition.

Paid for it at the end of November and received only on the last day of January, with complete radio silence from him those 2 months.

So, I have been sending him a reminder of my missing strap once a month (just did it this afternoon), but as usual, I feel like one is screaming into the void when dealing with him.

I can't say anything much more than that, but there's always the possibility that this guy may have absconded with our cash, until someone else receives something from him and says otherwise, which then gives us renewed hope that he's still around.

2. solitudex thanks for the welcome!! So great to find a buddy that loves the navitimer too! Sophisticated and elegant dial, it's a top watch pal!!! Do you own one too???

My pleasure! Yes, I do own the Navitimer 01 rep currently. Might be splitting hairs here, but I wouldn't say I love the Navitimer, but it's more of an admiration for the history and heritage of the brand and model.

And with its most distinctive aesthetics, it's a polarising watch. One either likes it or hates it. Rarely will you find someone who sits on the fence when it comes to the Navitimer.

3. kinkinza I have just also taken the opportunity to decide that I will put a 20% premium on servicing or modifying Breitlings. They go toward the sacrifice of my ocular health.

The legend has it that you could service watches blindfolded. That's one way you could certainly maintain your sanity when working on Navitimers!

And well, not all Breitlings have such convoluted dials!

4. When did you place your order with him?  I ordered the same watch as you on November 5th

I placed my order a week after yours. I’m guessing that the shipping to me might be quicker since I’m in Asia.

Perhaps your Navitimer is on the way to you. Hope that you would too receive yours in perfect condition very soon!

5. I received my Navitimer from him two days ago. While there wasn’t any updates from him throughout these couple of months since Nov, whether QC or shipping updates, the timepiece arrived safely at my doorstep in a highly satisfactory condition. All functions working and the datewheel modded as promised.

The only snag is that he didn’t send the extra deployant strap as ordered. Reached out to him but no reply as of yet.

Hope to be posting some photos of the watch over the next couple of days.

Overall, I’m still relieved that I’ve received my watch from him in excellent condition. Would be a bonus if I could receive the extra deployant strap or at least a refund for that.

This is a genuine Revue Thommen Quantième moonphase timepiece, my very first serious timepiece which I have procured in the grey market more than a year ago. It had arrived DOA, and after sending it back to the the grey seller and Swiss manufacturer for repairs (the latter being a regrettably costly move), the watch came back still broken! As such, it had sat in my dry cabinet for more than a year while I acquired several other timepieces along the way, mostly genuine and vintage watches.

It might have been fitting to have had this review in the proper WUS forum, but I had gotten to know @Legend through the replica forums, and for the edification of the replica community, I decided that this review shall be planted here.

I had gotten to know @Legend through another local modder aflop. In our initial casual conversations on our watches, I had mentioned about this broken watch and he had graciously offered to take a look at it. Nothing to lose, I had calculated mentally, when even the manufacturer couldn't fix it for me

To cut the long story short, @Legend took the watch, and fixed it before I could even request an update from him. Sheer insanity. He gave me a rundown of how the watch works (an ETA 2824-2 base movement with a Dubois-Depraz 9310 module, and how intricate a repair it was, given the setup of the watch. He sent me off with a charge that I ought to be extremely delicate with this watch, lest the module and parts break once more under my care this time.

I have adjusted the time, day, date, and moonphase over this time back in my care, and all of them work as they should. That is some pretty impressive work by our very own admin and modder in the replica watch communities. I had thrown him a curveball and he has dealt with it with an unmistakable elegance and finesse.

Over the course of our continued interactions, @Legend has revealed that he could deal with any repair or mods under the sun. Movement servicing, platinum paint mods and SEL mods (for your subs, DSSDs etc.), waterproofing, datewheel mods (for your 7750 3-6-9 chronos), AR works, just to name a few common ones we in the replica community need. Admittedly, he is not the most humble person, but the important fact is that he could certainly back up his statements with the first class calibre of his work, with me being a direct beneficiary of it.

I would highly commend his services and offerings to all without reservations, whether it be for a replica or genuine timepiece. If you're based in Asia, there shouldn't be any reason not to look for him. That said, if you are based on the other side of the world with no reliable local watchsmiths (I'm looking at you, our American friends), it would do you good to consider @Legend to service your timepieces.

Thank you once again, Al.

7. Hey guys.  Any of the RWI refugees or mods know what the situation is with watcharchive Louie?
ive has a Navi on order since nov 4th and nothing yet ....

Oh my, if you have ordered since Nov 4th and haven’t heard anything yet, there goes my Navi which I’ve only ordered and paid on the 28th Nov.

In any case, some have mentioned that with Louie we should wait at least 3 months. And some even said 6 months. So guess it’s happy waiting for us.
8. There has been much talk on the forums about the price of reps these days. Those of us that have been playing the game for a decade or more can remember being charged royally for reps that wouldn’t cut it these days. I don’t think $500 is too outrageous for a rep that takes gen parts. We are now discussing whether we need to fit a gen date wheel to Rolex reps. A) it takes a gen date wheel   B ) is that all we have left to complain about. Ten years ago worrying about that wasn’t even thought about.

All of which is a rambling introduction to my new source of amusement. I am interested to see how bad reps can be, how cheap and if any dirt cheap reps are at all interesting.
Results, yes, they can be spectacularly bad. They can get very cheap and some unbelievably cheap watches aren’t that bad. Today this arrived. No, not a super rep. It has flaws, it has obvious tells. On the other hand it isn’t a watch on the mainstream radar, nor do more than a few WIS know enough about the make to call out the flaws. As a taste of what a Nomos would look like on my wrist, it gets the job done, as a Bauhaus style Watch, it is pleasing.

The cost? Not $500, not $100, not $50. For you, and well me obviously and for that matter anyone who fancies one, $5.76 including postage
