  1. Lovely Freddy, Thank You.
  2. The problem comes when one takes them seriously.
  3. They aren't watchmakers. They are parts suppliers. When they get loads of calls asking which widget is correct for what specific variation of any particular time piece, any supplier tends to withdraw from the market at large and stick to registered, known watchmakers that buy in quantities that are profitable to them. They don't like paying their order takers who are not usually watchmakers to bug the watchmaker, burning his time too, to play 20 questions for a single order from 5000 single watchnuts because the $1.60 they will make off a tube won't pay for the time wasted. Too many anoraks lock onto a a biz like this and the entire supply dries up for everyone. A bit like M2M sales tire kickers, only bigger. Don't be THAT [censored] guy.
  4. Dude. Quit obsessing. That is a good looking watch, and the movement is showing 0 beat error. That amplitude can be described as healthy, not too high. Without movement pics, I would say it looks like you probably have an ST 2130 in there which has a stainless mainspring, and tends to have a higher amplitude when running well because of this. Find a good watchmaker and get it serviced, it will be dirty. Obsess about that, and it will run forever.
  5. Just don't call and start asking questions.
  6. You just say that because you have insomnia and have hope that I can put you to sleep. I'm sure my story would work almost as well as propofol, but I don't think Panerai153 is ready to retire yet.
  7. There's a long story behind that...
  8. Pazzi Italiani.
  9. Myself and Death have this thing going... I kick his ass on a regular basis, and he has to be satisfied with just getting to pick my pocket.
  10. Actually, you seem to have fit right in and made yourself a home as a respectable, and helpful member here while I have been away. You are a much better example of member than the guy who's name is probably more funny than he will ever realize with respect to his choice of Gens to wave in other people's faces. Myself, I am barely a foggy memory for a few other old timers, and otherwise of no great consequence. Of course this doesn't mean I won't take the opportunity to bust your chops when the situation presents itself.
  11. Oh dear.
  12. That sounds like a problem with the set pin in the keyless works. Whether or not it can be easily repaired by a watchmaker willing to work on it depends on a few things. Which version of what movement it is, which affects parts availability, the experience of the watchmaker, and how much you care to spend on the issue.
  13. THE Chronos Bro..
  14. Nice Freddy... But can we see 'the triplets' please?
  15. Likely lack of oxygen, coupled with excess off-gassing from Nuqi's sack o' bear treats. 10 years ago... On a website far away... Several hairy beasts gathered... To speak in hushed tones, of the pursuit of the grail-watch. 8 years ago there was a disturbance in the aether... This resulted in the great fragmentation and the RWG became two. One slowly devolving in to more and more inane mutterings amongst the one who was lost and his collection of sock puppets. The other becoming a vibrant community of brothers forever striving to imbue the imperfect with the true essence of the grail-watch.
  16. He uses 'em for wolf and bear treats to help him get away. Nuqi's sack is full of nuts.
  17. Uhuh... you keep telling yourself that... ;^) Seriously though, I remember when you started that lemonade stand of yours. Glad to see you are still offering excellent products at fair prices, while offering solid advice to all, even if they aren't your customers. Nice to see you're still around and haven't succumbed to TURDD like so many others. *Trusted Universal Rep Dealers Disease.
  18. I live in a refrigerator box. But it's a Meneghini Arredamenti so it's upscale, with lots of room.
  19. I need a good, leather bag. Know anyone who has any? ;^)
  20. Thanks for that, sounds like excellent advice. Noob. ;^)
  21. If I did that where would I be able to buy my kangaroo skin wallets and platypus boots (2 sizes too small)? ;^)
  22. Yes it has... too long, no Nuqi. Thanks.
  23. Very nice. A good looking 1016.
  24. 아주 좋은 일.
  25. So, are you the pikey chav with the beat up 16610 for sale on ebay?
