Apologies if there was a similiar thread going on.. I was wondering how you all store your watches.. Do you have seperate boxes for each, a large box, or some sort of arm cushion, or do you throw them in corner somewhere like i do ??

I am thinking of getting a SMP chrono. I was wondering if the thickness of the watch bothers you or not. I read some mixed reviews. Best Rep, but thick as hell. Prefer the regular SMP as a daily watch over the chrono, etc. etc.. My personal taste is the chrono, but the thickness (16mm?) is considered above average for a watch ?

I hate wearing watches up until I found out you could buy really nice reps !! I would use my cellphone for time just like everyone else, but for a watch, I thought it would be too cumbersome, and all the watches i did like was out of my price range. But that's all changed.. ! I really do like watches, and I think many people do as well, but they haven't had the chance to try or get something they would like to wear. Someone already mentioned, watches is generally used to tell time, but if its a good looking piece it can be fashionally worn. Girls have lots of accessories they use to make them look good. For us guys, we don't care as much - nice shirt, nice pants, nice shoes, and a nice watch. Simple. A watch is one of those accessories guys can wear without feeling they're sexual orientation has been comprimised..

I've been reading on the slevin, interesting.. too bad its taking so long to come out.. I'm not a fan of the HBB, but it looks like a really solid watch. All Omega's look the same to me now I may want a PO one day, but looks like I'm gonna try for another brand.. Thanks the inputs!

I want to get another watch, and I've been researching Omega's, because its my favourite brand, however, I already own a moon watch, and I may be getting another one in the near future. I've been looking at the IWCs watches - the Pilot, Cousteau, and i know there's a new Aquatimer coming out soon!!? And there's the infamous PAM111 and other models. Looks wise, I like the Omega PO Chrono and the IWC Cousteau. The PO Chrono is cheaper in price, but the rep is not that great (I don't mind). I like the UPO, but for some reason I like Chronos... Can anyone help me out ?

I can't wait for the $$$ version of the rep. Swap on a nice rubber band and it looks nice doesn't it ??

Looks like one of those Cousteu's.

The two main differences I notice are the smaller 3,6,9 fonts, and maybe the pearl. I don't know what's up with the pearl. The bottom one looks like its embedded into the bezel, where as the top one looks like its just attached on top. Looks kinda dumb like that i'm sure.. i guess thats enough for someone to pay a little more to get the better version. As for the dial print, can't notice it unless i have both watches in my hands, but I'll take your advice.. crappy print will make me sad..

Good eye. I like the 2nd gen given that it costs less. I don't mind the wrong position of the date font.

So according to TJ, its up to you what you like or not. But being a first-time PO buyer, I guess we want to make sure we're getting something that is half decent, especially if there is a major price difference. IMO, the best rep would be the one that resembles the gen as closely as possible. So it doesn't matter if it has metallic fonts or the hand is slightly shorter. As long as its true to the gen, that's the rep I want. Anyone purchased a 42mm PO and was very satisfied with Silix or others ??

How about the crystal and AR coating from Silix ? I was thinking of getting a 42mm PO ETA from them, but I dont know if I would regret it. Some people were saying the ETA versions are much better in overall quality compared to the Asian 7750 - its not just the movement inside that differs.

hmmm.. gotcha. Now i have think about whether or not to get th 42 or th 45 - are they the same in quality ? just the size difference ? I have small wrists and the moon watch 39mm or 42 (including the crown) is a decent size already.

I'm going to post better photos one day... I used a point and shoot camer - minolta G400.. doesn't work very well close up.. I'll be getting a X-33 soon and i'll borrow my friend's SLR..

how does a nylon strap feel ? do you have it skin tight to make it feel secured ? I'm looking at it and it looks rather neat. Thinking about it for my X-33 Rep. However, I don't know if I would like the feel compared to a leather strap. The watch sits ontop of the strap, does that feel weird ??

So is the X-33 from silix worth buying ? I am considering it. Other than the crappy functions/bad alarm/clasp/braclet, is the watch itself of good quality ? comparison to the gen? How THICK is the X-33 ? Thanks !

I guess there are no places.. at least the dealers around here that have them or won't sell it..

Not intended to take away business from the dealers here, but I would think there would be some local dealers especially in parts of the world with a high asian population (given reps are made in China). Anyone know of a place that has a good inventory in Toronto, Vancouver, San Fran, New York, etc... ? Thanks.!

Thanks By-Tor, according to your measurements on the 'reduced', it looks like the same size ! Why is that ? Is the reduced actually reduced then ? This is what I'm going to do.. I'm going to visit a store and snap some photos of the pro, reduced and my rep side-by-side. I'll solve this problem once and for all.
