Thanks. You opened a new way of searching for things. I have searched with so many different keywords but didn't get that result
Here the deepsea challenge story confirms the info as a fact

You rock sir. Thank you so much"What size crown does deepsea sea dweller use?"It is a triplock 8mm crown.
Where can I find an aftermarket one with the tube?

What size crown does deepsea sea dweller use? I couldn't find any info about neither the size nor where to source an aftermarket crown and tube set. Thanks gents

Newly filled indices, bare brass dial, blued hands to be lumed

After so many trials and errors I decided to remove the black paint to leave the bare brass as a base and filled the indices with clear epoxy. I'll use it as is. Here are the pictures

Thanks
Guess what, the buckle tongue has turned out to be harder part to make. Still, I found way to handle that too. Stainless steel to is the more difficult one especially
Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using TapatalkI suppose the brass is aged with boiled egg. Am I right?
Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using TapatalkThe brass is aged within boiled egg, I suppose. I'll give it a try.

Two hand made GPF buckles I made for a project of two hand sewn straps. One is made from a 2 mm thick brass plate, and the other one from an old gun piece, a 4 mm thick dur aluminum. Here are the pics

Now I understand why hand made buckles are sooooo expensive

I'm happy with it. Finally

Well, my method didn't work out well as it does on wooden surfaces. And I decided to get rid of the white printing on the Marina Militare as well. So the shellac adventure did turn up like this. Though the indices were not filled as they should I think I will not go on dealing with it anymore and leave it as is...

It took me quite some time to drill and tap the case properly for the new crown tube. And yes mates I did it
The plexi is from Cousinsuk. It's a ATC Sternkreuz 33.0 (ATC330) standard chrome ringed glass

The process is called french polishing. I used my original method of guitar polishing method. Covering the whole surface with a thick level of shellac, filling the uneven parts, and french polishing until the surface becomes smooth and level

Finally. A couple of finishing touches and done.

I just bought it from a jevellery tools supplier

I guess I need something like that after taking the measurements correctly

Thanks for the direction. I've searched for gauges and found the Bergeon one. Thought that it would work standard gen parts, not for this one. From the picture I can only get the diameter and I can measure it myself too. But the threads. Anyway, I thought rather than tapping, I might just drill .1mm larger than the original diameter and use either glass hypo cement or some loctite 222.

Thanks for the info,
Yes, I would probably go that way if I had the correct measurement tool or device. That's my biggest problem, as though I have a micrometer to measure the diameter of the part of the tube that is to be screwed into the case, I have no way of measuring the thread distance. I think I'd better go to a watchmaker
Is there any place where I can get the tap with those parameter values mate?
