After so many trials and errors I decided to remove the black paint to leave the bare brass as a base and filled the indices with clear epoxy. I'll use it as is. Here are the pictures Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk

Two hand made GPF buckles I made for a project of two hand sewn straps. One is made from a 2 mm thick brass plate, and the other one from an old gun piece, a 4 mm thick dur aluminum. Well, my method didn't work out well as it does on wooden surfaces. And I decided to get rid of the white printing on the Marina Militare as well. So the shellac adventure did turn up like this. It took me quite some time to drill and tap the case properly for the new crown tube. And yes mates I did it[emoji3] The plexi is from Cousinsuk. It's a ATC Sternkreuz 33.0 (ATC330) standard chrome ringed glass Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk

The process is called french polishing. I used my original method of guitar polishing method. Covering the whole surface with a thick level of shellac, filling the uneven parts, and french polishing until the surface becomes smooth and level Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk

Thanks for the direction. I've searched for gauges and found the Bergeon one. Thought that it would work standard gen parts, not for this one. From the picture I can only get the diameter and I can measure it myself too. But the threads. Anyway, I thought rather than tapping, I might just drill .1mm larger than the original diameter and use either glass hypo cement or some loctite 222. Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk

Thanks for the info, Yes, I would probably go that way if I had the correct measurement tool or device. That's my biggest problem, as though I have a micrometer to measure the diameter of the part of the tube that is to be screwed into the case, I have no way of measuring the thread distance.
