  1. The case started its life as an Oris classic automatic with an ETA 2824 inside. It's been working like a charm since I bought it in 2001. Never been serviced, nor the back was opened. It was OK and I have worn it for many years along with my other watches. Whence I have started growing interest into vintage reps and having modded a Silix 6538, which I will talk about in another thread, I thought I could start a fantasy project with this watch whose shape was sort of not as sleek as most Rolexes of early 40s until late 60s. Anyway, what this watch will become is a semi Bubbleback. 1. The dial will be kept, the inscriptions will be removed, a Rolex silver logo will be attached, maybe a ROLEX inscription below it and PRECISION inscription will be transfer printed. 2. A 6 mm crown will be tapped and mounted. 3. A 33.4 mm HW or N plexi will be cemented 4. The see through case back will be replaced with specially manufactured bubble case back Enough said. Now the pics I forgot to take the pics before I started, so there will be photos of the different phases Phase 1 Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk Phase 2 Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk Phase 3 Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk

  3. Last phase. Finished case shaping today. I don't think there is gonna be any more improvement that can be made. Maybe, some more elbow grease to make it look shinier. Please share your comments with me Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk
  4. Hi everyone, All started about two years ago while I was surfing on the net for a gen dive watch search and after an extensive reading ended up with buying a hommage case from davidsen about two months ago. Shortly after I was delighted the case I decided to give it a go for the case work. What could have happened anyway? The worst could be ending up in the bin. Otherwise, I would have been a proud bearer of rep of an impossible and unaffordable beauty. I think I could achieve a mid case somewhere in between, but rather on the plus side. Through this period, I mostly, in fact, solely talked about the development of the case and so many other issues with Kilowattore. So I owe him a lot. Thanks so much mate. So much said Here are the photos of the case work in three phases But firstly the photos of the maiden case Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk Phase one. Rough polishing of the mid case Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk Phase two, a more courageous use of hand files and sandpapers Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk Phase three, further hand filing and sanding, and polishing with Dremel Sent from my Lenovo K53a48 using Tapatalk
