Eagerly waiting to see your completed schumi project on the wrist

Wow thats a beauty, may i know where did you get the arabic DW? You should try to get gen insert, it makes a huge difference. And rep's althought able to age it like gen but the font print is a big give away. Especially number 22.

Modded AP ROO Schumi, incomplete a preview
aprolexlover replied to Legend's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Wow unbelievable. What movement is this on? LWO or A7750? The dial I assume is rep, and the dw has been repositioned, cut out areas has been replaced? Amazing work -
Suggest you should just wear it and acquire a ceramic or forged carbon or steel rep diver and get legend to mod a little for you. Or if you have 5 grand to spare you can acquire a franken AP ROO, and have a couple of watches in your arsenal to play with. You already bought the watch, and its meant to be worn. TBH, AP has very little residual appreciation, you can see historically all the steel 42-44mm ROOs prices are coming down by at least 30% or even more for some RG models. This means, even if you keep it in the safe, it wont appreciate any much more unless you plan to bet on selling it after 40-60 years in Mint, quite possibly you could make some money, but we do not know yet. Historically speaking, the Jumbo RO only made it with appreciation value, many other ROOs which majority of them did not hold their value that well. So I would suggest you to wear this occasionally instead. I have a few friends who plays with these gen ROOs and they wear them almost daily because they are aware about this massive depreciation on their watches, when they dont like it anymore they will sell it without even thinking twice. And yes, you cant get away with those hairline scratches no matter how careful you are, its inevitable. Look at AP as sort of owning a Bentley, people who could afford the real thing often change their cars within 5 years, even when it suffered massive depreciation that would still move on to a newer Bentley, since they already made that much. this is just my personal observation and opinion

I guess these guys has factory access to request them to manufacture one off pieces. You got a photo of it assembled? ive not seen this before

Hi Carlytoss, can you link or share with me Jensen's contact? I would truly appreciate it. As for MQ, I wouldnt recommend. I inquired about #97 Paul Newman step dial half a year ago with a handset and he wanted $1,000. I then asked a friend to walk into his shop in Saigon HCM city to ask about the same dial and he quoted him $1,200. Today I asked him about the very same dial via whatsapp and he wants $1,500. earlier I asked him about a 6542 insert, on his website the photograph of the insert looks superior. But when I ask him to send me a photo of the actual thing it's no different to Ruby's! This means whatever photos he puts up is not necessary the thing you'll be getting! You'd be better off buying from Ruby.

Need some opinions about this 6263 Dial
aprolexlover replied to aprolexlover's topic in The Rolex Area
I find the counter print is very sharp and crisp, the layout is highly similar to gen 3RCO, thats why I kept looking back into it. But as what @tomhorn suggested, its difficult to say without seeing a straight photo. Crown can be replaced with gen, this seller asking 769 euros. not sure whether worth it or not. -
If its gloss, it should be gilt. Later 6542 service dials are matte and silver printed, sometimes they aged till a certain point where people mistaken them for gilt because of the patina. You'll have to see it in person.

I would go for the Noob, theyve mastered this since the beginning, difficult to fault with.

Phong makes the worst PN dials out the entire viet fleet and they cost a fortune. Are you sure you got it right? you can compare Phong with Ruby's 6263 dial, its huge difference. I use Slay to do my builts, he is probably the most knowledgable and long standing member. Others use Rolojack, which ive seen his work and also not too bad.

Ah thanks for sharing, the right pusher seems to sit a fraction lower than the left pusher. Correct me if im wrong. By the way, I really really like that 6265 tiffany dial, may I know where did you get it from?
-
got a photo of the side profile? They say the pusher position is different compared to V72X, is this true?
-
may i know who helped you thin the case and 9015 movement? i have one up in order but stuck with Loco Louie
-
Is that case thinned like gen? The dial looks very good too. Is this JF latest V3?

Rolex made T<25 gilt 6542 dials very earlier, they exist and they cost around $6,000 USD in market value. There is one for sale recently in Tokyo Japan asking around 625k yen. It has a glossy background and yes its gilt. Later 6542 service dials are printed in silver, and those with Certified Chronometer were later added as opposed to just Chronometer. The 10past10 6542 tropical is gen except for the bakelite bezel.

That tiffany dial and rco is really nice. What movements are they running on? Yes, and im surprised that even some highly reputable dealers are following and liking his post. He looks like he is making a good living out of these and people are inquiring / buying into it. Well, when someone doesnt know much and wants a watch badly, but not willing to pay gen prices would surely subject to purchase from him. I guess you can see him as sort of like the next MQ / Phong?

Hey guys, I recently came across this dial, the print looks really nice and far more detailed compare to current viet dials from Ruby. I would like to get more opinion from experts whether its a good to buy dial, its not cheap and price is twice of ruby's step dial. So far 'i've only seen something this close at MQ's website, but as we know he also chargers a fortune and even much more, and sometimes its the same thing as Ruby and also not as described most of the time. Please see photos below. https://image.ibb.co/hw703c/c318b078_752b_40e3_910c_98184d483927.jpg[/img] https://image.ibb.co/ftaypH/0a904e06_d6d7_4571_951a_fd0364facdd6.jpg[/img] https://image.ibb.co/hvG4UH/0f1a5190_93d2_496d_8ae9_e946eaaa892a.jpg[/img] [/img]

Carlytoss is just sharing his own experience dealing with The Society, what he said is somewhat true. The Society always try to pass on parts as though he manufactured them himself or source it from his own "supplier" that no other members could access. Truth to be told, most of these parts could have been bought directly from phong, ruby, NDT and alike. He qouted me a couple of stuff that seems out of the chart, like Daytona hands for $350???? ...

No update from him till date, now its starting to worry me. He hasnt been replying my wechat for too long... Anyone else received their watch recently?

Hey guys, I bought a DW franken with V23 from another member a while ago but it doesn't have a step dial. Ive always wanted to upgrade to a step dial and now have the opportunity. Just wondering anyone here has worked with V23 in the past? I search up a couple of topics, and found the main difference is the height of the stem which is a fraction closer to the bezel, and didnt quite understand the rehaut difference. If I were to replace a new 6263 viet step dial that is made for V72 V727, do I need to cut off the dial's feet to fit my V23? Will the 9 and 3 o clock sub counters be a fraction offset compared to v72x movement, or are they the same? In terms of the frozen 6 o clock chrono, how do I fix the hands frozen at 12? I feel i'm obligated to do more thorough research before committing to the new spare part purchase. Any thoughts and experience would be highly appreciated!

I read somewhere that using halogen lamp just brighten and makes the lume whiter instead, since tritium is being charged. Maybe water colour is the best way.

What version is this? Looks amazing. Wear it well Noob V4, heavily modded. What a gem! Havent seen something like this for quite some time.

wow, this looks gen to me. whats the specs?
